  1. Hello Phil, I saw your name and had to pop in and say how glad I am your having such a good time.

I haven't been on CC for about a year , but as Mike and I have just booked to sail our very last voyage next year on Silouette's TA from Rome on the 31st . Nov. , I am back on CC .

The trip is our 50th wedding Anniversay present to ourselves.

Continue to have a great cruise Phil. :)

  2. Well , your not going to believe it coming from me , but guess where I think more ships should come ?

    WALES. :D

A few ships have been , and it's a fantastic place to come.

Forget all the rest of Europe , Wales has more castles per acre than anywhere else on Earth .

Great culture, moderate climate, great landscapes, and really great people. ;)

  3. If you find your luggage damaged by Celebrity when you pick it up at the pier you need to find someone at the pier and report it. Unfortunately I didn't know this. .......................

Thanks for the information lkneller. It's useful to know.

On my last cruise Celebrity managed to punch a 6x8 inch hole in my guaranteed unbreakable luggage.!!

When I complained they took it away after we unpacked and super glued it.

I then had a lengthy conversation with them when they could not understand why I was not totally happy with my now repaired new luggage.

  4. Please go to Cruise Deck Plans dot Com! It is the most comprehensive site, and when you point to an actual cabin on the deck plan, the designation (1A, 2C etc) will show. No need to decipher those silly colors! For a small fee, you can join the site, and can view a huge gallery of ship/cabin photos. :)

Thanks for this info....your correct..it's a great little site. !

    :D Goody...a new little toy. !!

  5. There are complimentary coffees in the morning...but you have to PAY for one in the afternoon, and that's if you can actually get one.!! Several times I have been refused. They will get one sometimes , which you have to then pay for, in Sky Lounge , but no chance in Michael's club. I do not like achohol, and would love to have just a coffee. We do not go there anymore just for this reason.

  6. We are from the UK and a few years ago did a TA crossing which was supposed to go to New Orleans. It was in fact the first ship back there after the flooding. Many of the passengers got off in the prior port , including us, which was Fort Lauderdale. The reason we did this is it was much cheaper to fly back from there for us. My point is that everything was handled like a normal debarkation by the ship, with no mention of paying anything to cover fines etc. .

  7. Deck - PANORAMA.

    Cabin # - 9292

    Class – 1 A

Starboard or Port Side - SLOPE ON HUMP

    Bed near –BALCONY.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – CLEAR VIEW OF MID SHIP TO REAR, PLUS BALCONIES ON THE FLAT .

CLEAR VIEW TO FRONT, BUT NOT THE FRONT BALCONIES .

Balcony Size? Normal or over sized for class? - VERY BIG !

Was wind a problem? ONLY ON WINDY DAYS.:D

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem?

Any specific problems with this cabin? NOTHING MAJOR..CEILING CREAKED A BIT WITH WAVY SEAS.

Any other comments? I AM NOT GOING TO BE SO SILLY AS TO TELL YOU ALL WHAT A GREAT CABIN THIS IS.;)

  8. Thank you all the previous posters for your eloquence in sharing your life experiences.

Much of what I wanted to express has been better said by many other people, but I will try to put into words what I am want younger CC members, especially the ones with young families to understand.

It is not the things you buy your children, computers, designer clothes, etc. that they remember , but the time you spend with them, however humble, that they value.

I sat with my 35 year old son for 5 weeks while he died in hospital, and I am so glad that what he spoke of most and treasured most was " Do you remember Mum when we.......

I am so glad we spent our time getting together, and not getting "things "
