Applies to Joy only as of2/28 for "the next month or so"

Vibe Cabanas are available on board only, 650 for the week.

Thermal Spa the same-only available to book on board. 299 per week or 80/day .

How many people is that for two? If we are sailing with two other friends and they just buy the Vibe pass I assume that we can share with them...unless the cabana police are going to be out 🙂

They did raise the prices of the cabanas recently and they are still for sale on other ships.   We currently have a cabana reserved on the Viva for February 2025 and I can reserve one for our June 2025 Encore cruise.

My point was I do not understand why they would not sell them instead of just letting everyone use them on a first come basis on the Joy.

So when do you have access to reserve a cabana, only after you purchase the Vibe pass I assume? Are they rented per day or for the week?

  3. We last sailed on the Joy Sept 2023, and are heading back this June. I am curious to know what modifications were made to the Vibe? Did they change the size and make a section of it public, like on the Bliss?

What are the production shows following the dry dock?

Based on the fact that NCL didn't add a thermal pool in the recent spa renovation, we will skip purchasing a spa pass for the week. However we would like to enjoy the space for a day. Can anyone confirm that they are selling spa day passes and if so, how many and how much are they per day?

    Thanks for any info!

  4. Does anyone have a current copy of the Food Republic menu? My wife and I ate there for the first time last Sept on the Joy and loved the selections, however the sample menu they have online now looks paired down. I was just curious if that was because it was a sample menu of if they really cut down on the choices. We will be on the Joy again in June and just doing some planning haha.

    Thank you.

  5. So based upon the footnotes on the Latitudes benefits webpage, each dining coupon is good for one appetizer, one entree and one dessert and should you select to use your coupon in a specialty restaurant that is ala carte then each person is allowed four menu items. It lists the restaurants such as Sushi, Wasabi, Nama, Teppanyaki, Hasuki, Food Republic, Pincho Tapas Bar or Raw Bar. Does anyone know what is allowed in the Texas Smokehouse?

Bottom line is that for someone "new", the best advice is to make a reservation. We dine at NCL specialty restaurants 25-35 night a year. I have observed far more walk-ups turned away than accepted. Just my observation (we normally dine during "prime time" between 6:00 and 7:00). Advising people not to make reservations and just walk up is really really really bad advice.

If you wait to the last minute, you can't get a reservation and you're on the mercy of the restaurants to allow you to walk-in. It works better when it is warm and sunny and they open up the al fresco dining. Windy, rainy, too hot, too cold days, they are limited to the inside seating in the restaurant.

I agree, reservations are the way to go especially if you dine during the more popular hours.

I did that the American Diner now appears to complementary for our upcoming cruise on the Joy, is that an accurate statement or just a trick? 🙂

  7. If it helps muddy the waters my two sons (24 and 21) are both gold with 68 and 61 pts. I do not recall contacting NCL to give them their prior cruise credits upon their 18th birthday, and I know that they didn't call NCL 🙂. However, they have both cruised a few times since turning 18 so I am not certain if that triggered the latitudes program to update or if they were grandfathered in, based on the date when the program changed,

  8. My wife and I recently qualified as platinum Latitude members and I had a few questions about how the perks work before our next sailing on the Joy in June.  According to the Latitudes webpage, platinum level guests receive dinner for two with a bottle of wine and then the next line lists dinner for two. Does that mean two separate dinners? According to the foot notes aka fine print, it appears to be the equivalence of a specialty dining credit and coupons will be issued. Should we make a reservation ahead for the dinner(s) just as we would with a specialty dining credit?

Another perk listed is the ship tour, should we make the reservation ahead via the website and pay, then just work out a credit or simply book it once we are onboard?

Thank you for any information that you may be able to share.

  9. We are sailing on the Getaway to Bermuda and will be in port September 24-24, 2022, which is a Saturday and Sunday. The Bermuda Ferry service orange line doesn't run on weekends according to what I saw on their website. Does anyone know the weekend schedule for the NCL ferry to St George's? Or is it the same as the weekend days, as posted above?

  10. I too would like to purchase the deluxe drink package and the refreshment package for my wife, then using the diamond drink vouchers when she wants a cocktail. I can't do it online, so I called Royal and they would not let me purchase the refreshment package for her unless it was for a "medical" reason. Has anyone been successful with this concept? If so please share, thanks. Not trying to get "away" with anything, just want to use the perks that we have earned.

  11. Good afternoon,

We are sailing on the Majestic to Alaska, 28 May 22 and spa appointments are not yet available due to re-establishing contracts since leaving AK due to COVID.  How far in advance did you see the option to purchase the Enclave Pass?

    Thanks.

Are you certain about the booking numbers being the same?   I've been booking 2 cabins for years and we always get 2 different numbers, one per cabin.   Its 6 characters, combination of letters and numbers.   We currently have a booking exactly like this - 2 cabins, linked reservations, two different booking numbers.

If they are in fact the same, you should be seeing all passengers on that booking number show up when you are booking everything online because you can log in with the booking number.     Unless the system has completely changed .... ?

Yes, both rooms have one booking number and if I log into one I can't access simultaneously access the other. Maddening!

Unfortunately you have to enter each booking separately to book the excursions.  You cannot be logged into 2 reservations on the same computer.    I do them quickly one after another. You can see how many spots are available when you book the first one so you know if you'll fit all of you in.

We always have our travel agent ensure the bookings are linked for regular dining.

I haven't prebooked specialty dining so I don't  know how that works online.

Thanks very much for the feedback, seems strange that you can't add other guests especially since both rooms are under one booking number.

    Thanks again.
