We did Harv and Marvs last month. With only six on the boat there was easy viewing not having to climb over the crowd to see. Also because it was a smaller boat it was easier for the boat to get in position for good viewing

Just got back last night from the 5/16 cruise. We had absolutely beautiful weather. I found for Glacier and whale viewing Deck 15 was the best place. In Glacier Bay and College Fjord the bow viewing platform was open and the views to both sides were spectacular. Other times there was always a group on 15 to either side of the ship up near the Tradewinds bar. Any sightings would be relayed to those on the other side. And we could move back and forth with ease.
I was told that the view on the promenade deck was great, but that you did not have easy access to sightings on the other side.
We ended up spending a good portion of our waking ours up there. It was sunny but windy and cool so dress warmly.

I am going with Marv & Harv on May 19th. Will let you know how it was when I return at the end of May
Just returned from Alaska. We did whale watching with Marv & Harv. I would recommend them highly the service was great and with only six people in the boat a lot more personal attention. The smaller boat allowed for greater maneuvering which allowed us to get a better view than the larger boats.

Check out airfare and train/bus time.. I opted for the Anchorage option for our trip since we liked the idea of more train and less bus travel, also airfare was cheaper.

I have been in C753 on the Caribean Princess. Which is the same room on the otherside of the ship. It was our favorite room ever. Large covered balcony with a view both to the back and the side. Very private.

We are doing the Northbound on Star in May. Would there be any benefit to reserving a spot in the sanctuary for the day in Glacier Bay.

We are sailing the Star in May. Likely too cold for any sun bathing. Is there an advantage in booking the sanctuary for the day in Glacier Bay. Will it provide for less congested viewing?

I want to thank everyone who helped put this together. I found it very useful when booking an obstructed view cabin last week. I was able to suggest a room to the Princess vacation planner. He asked if I would send him a link to the site with all the window views so he could use it.

We have been on the Lido deck on several different ships including L234 on the Golden. We found that as long as you are not between the elevators and the pool area there was little traffic or noise

The bus rides on the other side of the canyon. Sit on the right side.
