  1. We used Italy tours.eu for our Mediterranean cruise, they organised our tour from Marseille. It was a tour of Aix en Provence, Cassis, Cap Canille and Marseille. Booking was easy through their website. They took a small deposit when booking and the balance 10 days before. Our brilliant guide Simon was at the pier on time as promised. He was super friendly, Patient a good and safe driver, the van was spotless and there were 8 of us onboard. He took special care of a lady less mobile, answered all of our questions enthusiastically. The tour itself was great with a particular highlight for us being Cassis and Cap Canille. Simon clearly loves where he lives. Thank you Italytours.eu

  2. The "I Wish I Could Stay Here Forever" bar has been there for many years - only recently have they added the large pirate ship bar. I know about the "I Wish ..." because we have frequented it many times ;).

  3. Last year on Ryndam we had booked inside guarantee And was upgraded to Oceanview 2 weeks before free. They then rung us a week before and offered us an upsell to vista suite for $100 each. We have never been disappointed when booking a guarantee cabin. We have always been given a decent upgrade from HAL on our 7 cruises with them. That drinks package was part of the explore 4 offer they had I think don't think it's compatible with changes and is worth $$$$$. Maybe worth asking though.

  4. Can. You ring them and ask if they are doing any up sells or do you have to wait for the call from HAL we have booked a guarantee SY on a Eurodam which sails on the 27th July. It's a Baltic cruise. About 10 days ago it went sold out on all categories above varadah even though there was at least 15 suites still showing as available the day before. We still haven't been allocated our cabin no yet BTW.

  5. ... with a couple of bars, some shops, cabanas, villas, and lots of activities. What more do you think should be there?

The question was about is 9 till 2:30 enough time IMO yes it is. It's a lovely place wasn't disputing that. BTW there was no bars and just 2 small shops last time we went so maybe it's been developed. Last time for us was 2010

  6. There really isn't much to Half Moon Cay, it's basically just a very pretty stretch of beach. With a dining facility where the cruise line cook a nice BBQ for you. IMO 9:00 till 2:30 is plenty of time there. This is a shot I took a couple of years back.y6yme7y6.jpgetevegyb.jpg

  7. Not sure what advice you're after. You have been on both lines, as have I, so you know what they offer. It's a decision only you can make. Personally I would choose a friend rather than Butlers, etc etc. not really sure what the point is of shutting yourselves away in a villa with private dining rooms is, why not just rent a nice villa.

HAL is a great line with history and tradition, NCL is relaxed informal resort ship, very different.

  8. We recently booked a SY guarantee on Eurodam for 27th July Baltic. Has anyone experience of this cabin type? What are the chances of an upgrade?

Particularly interested in any photos. I notice that the 2 disabled cabins at the front have no bathtub but seem larger, has anyone travelled in one of those? 5001, 5002.

Also does anyone have any idea when they might let us know which cabin number? There were lots of suites left but about a week ago all the cabin types verandah and above changed to sold out.

  9. As a European. if it's any consolation I have had the same problems in reverse when visiting the USA with my chip and PIN card. A lot of the retailers in the UK are also now moving across to contactless payment for small payments of up to £20 where you just touch your card at the machine to pay. It's about 8 years since we got of signature payments in the UK and personally I think it's a great thing that has significantly reduced card fraud. REMEMBER never give out your PIN to anyone else, NEVER let them put the PIN in for you. Not sure if you have prepaid credit cards in the US but that's what I use when going abroad just load them with the currency of your choice and away you go with no fees. They have a chip and PIN. You could even get one once here UK from some of the currency exchange places at the major airports.

  10. Have been on Princess, Cunard and NCL as well as HAL they all seem to do the show lounge process. Must be something in it that works for them! Don't think this is specific to HAL. Don't do their tours anymore you can get good or better tours booked independently online. Also significantly cheaper.

  11. We sailed on the NCL Gem in an aft balcony, the room was great normal sized balcony cabin the balcony was much larger, we had no vibration at all. And the views when we sailed out of harbour were fantastic. I would always choose an aft!

  12. We have booked a guarantee SY stateroom on Eurodam July 27th Baltic, haven't been allocated cabin number yet. How soon before do they allocate the suites? Been with HAL many times before and is usually 2 weeks ish before. Also earlier someone mentioned $199 up sells to Neptune suites. Can you ring them about these or do they strictly select people, any advice?

  13. On the Crown Princess we had an obstructed oceanview. We thought it was a great deal since it was much cheaper than regular oceanview. Compared to the photo above we really lucked out!
