Are there any Dancing Floors on the Westerdam? 

We wish to Couple dance...foxtrot...waltz...west coast swing...tango etc....every night.

We were on the Zaandam for the Grand Africa cruise and had a Fabulous time dancing on that ship in the Ocean Bar!  🙂  

They even had a Ballroom Hour with DJ up in the Crow's Nest...:)

I faxed in my Shareholders Benefit OBC Form on Nov 17, 2021 and have had No Reply...No Credit showing on my Princess Account or in the Upcoming Cruise Credits  section.  In the past this was all done promptly within a few days.  Can you please share your Recent experience with this procedure.  Where will it show up to see that it has been applied?   Thank You are for your with the above questions.  🙂 

I've been invited to the Captain's Table several times on Celebrity Ships and on a AMA Waterways Riverboat Cruise. A very enjoyable evening each time...wonderful experience. :) Great Memories!

Princess does not do this and it is something they should look into doing. Also at the Elite Lounge on Celebrity some Senior Officers are always present and the Captain has shown up on a few occasions too! This too would be a great addition to the Princess version of the Elite Lounge.

My first time to have a Cabin with a Public Area above instead of Cabins.

I'm looking at booking a South America Cruise for Feb 2, 2019.

Will the above cruise be included in the 3 For Free Promo that will start on Sept 5/17?

Also this cruise is 49 Days and can be booked 2 ways...

All in One...49 Days

Or

19 Days & 30 Days

If I book the All in One ...49 Days ...I can book an interior on Deck 9 ...where I want to be.

If I book each segment separately...I can only get an interior on Deck 14 and the Same cabin is Not Available... so would have to change cabins after the first 19 Days.

The cabin on Deck 9 that I can book on the All in One...49 day cruise is Not Showing for each segment if I book each segment separate...??

Is there some way to Get the Deck 9 cabin ...where I want to be?

If I book each segment separate then I could then apply my Shareholders Credit to both the 19 day and the 30 day cruises instead of the one time credit for the 49 day cruise option. Extra perk this way...but the available cabins for the 2 cruise segment options are Not where I want to be.

Hope there is a way to get the cabin on Deck 9...any ideas?

I'm also a solo cruiser so if I understand the 3 For Free rules...I should be getting ...Double the OBC amount...is this correct?

I just found out I can Not pre purchase ...water bottle packages (12 bottles/pkg) Sailing on the Sun Princess...4 B2B cruises...62 onboard. I like my water and really don't want to have to carry this onboard as I am a solo cruiser now ( widow).

Can I purchase the Package of Water...onboard?

Can I exchange my Elite Bar Set Up for Water Bottles?

Almost 100 nights on Sun Princess ( just like home).

 

 

 

Anytime dining is now on level 6 - forget name of restaurant.

 

 

 

Yes you can fully walk Promenade deck providing ship not refilling or using tenders from that side of ship or crew working on some part of it.

 

 

 

Can't answer about laundry as just become Elite so haven't used it before

 

 

 

Can't comment on closet size as not had balcony or cruised on Crown Princess but adequate closet and draws in inside cabins so presume it would be similar or more for balcony.

 

 

 

If I cruise in inside cabins I can do more cruises and I spend little time in a cabin.

 

 

 

Feel free to ask any other questions about the Sun - was only on her 2 months ago.:D

Do you remember the Daily Gratitude amount charged in AUS funds for your interior cabin.

For the first 28 day cruise I'm sharing a Balcony cabin with a travel girlfriend then I move to an interior cabin for the rest of my trip. I am like you ...now book interior cabins if travelling solo ( now a widow). Since solo cruisers have to pay for 2 people it makes sense to me....can't justify paying double for a Balcony cabin just for me. Get to cruise more if I book an interior cabin! :)

I'm boarding the Sun Princess on Oct 8, 2017 and have a few questions.

Can you walk all around the Promenade Deck without going up/down stairs?

Which Dining Room is used for Anytime Dining?

Shops (jewelry etc) onboard?

Free Dry Cleaning for Elites onboard...do they press the items too at No Charge?

Is there any Quiet Sunning Areas with lounges...Not by the pool?

Closet space in a Balcony Cabin...similiar in size to closet area on the Crown Princess?

Sun Princess was updated a few years ago with features specific to the Australian/South Pacific market:

 

New Zealand Natural replaced the ice cream stand by the pool (no more free soft-serve).

SHARE by Curtis Stone replaced the previously free sit-down pizzeria

Kai Seafood Bar replaced the Champagne and Caviar bar (for a time it was called Kai Sushi).

The disco (on Deck 7--no Skywaker's on the Sun Class ships) has been rebranded as Legends Sports Bar.

There is now a small International Cafe on Deck 5, plus an Amuleto Cafe counter in the buffet.

 

The Sun class ships are really not comparable to the Grand class. Cabins in the same category will be noticeably smaller on Sun Princess (only exception is the four aft Mini-suites). The spa and spa pool area is aft not forward; while there is a pool and hot tubs you similarly enter by stepping downward, it is much smaller and not semi-enclosed like on the Grand class.

 

We could keep listing differences all day; perhaps someone from Down Under will come on with more. I sure hope you studied the deck plans and asked some of these questions before booking as it appears too late to change your mind now.

I'm fine with the Sun Princess as I'll be on her for 4...B2B cruises...62 days. I just wanted a "heads up" on what some of the differences were.

I was unaware that the cabins were smaller but I'll make do...after all I'll be enjoying my first trip to this part of our wonderful world! :)

Princess Cruise Transfers..Question

Has anyone here used the Princess Cruise Transfers for a transfer to the Airport after a cruise? (I have never used the Transfers...so do not know how they work.

I have a 12:20pm flight time and want to be at the airport Early to find my airline check in location. First time to Sydney, Australia so a little anxious as I'm now a solo traveller (widow).

Does the Princess Transfer Bus...drop everyone off at the same location...then we have to find our own way to our airline check in? OR. Will The Princess Transfer Bus drop passengers at their different airline locations?

I am looking for a "reliable" private car service to pick us up at the Sydney Airport and take us to our Circular Quay Hotel. Also a few days later to pick us up at our hotel and take us to the White Bay Cruise Terminal.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Pam for your feedback! :). I'm a little disappointed that there was no other hotel info shared...as that is what Cruisecritic is all about...feedback.

Anyway...we booked the Sydney Harbour Marriott at Circular Quay...for our pre Cruise Stay. Hopefully it is a short walk to the Opera House and the Sydney Bridge from this hotel.

Anyone stayed at the above hotel in the past? Please share your experience as any info you can share would be greatly appreciated.

Also...Has anyone done the Sydney Bridge Climb? We are planning to do this just not sure what time of the day would be the better choice for October 7/17. What kind of weather should we expect?

Hopefully someone out there has some info to share with us.

We leave tomorrow for Budapest for the Illumination - our trip from Budapest to Amsterdam on the 26th of May - will take any and all last minute tips you might share.

I'll be on the Avalon Passion same timeframe just going in the opposite direction! I wonder if we'll be docked together anywhere along the route? l'll be watching for the Illumination! ;)
