Thank you for probably the greatest review I've ever read here. Glad you had a mostly great time, and Patti is a fantastic photographer! Yours were pretty good too, Jeff, especially considering you had the cheaper camera.
Now I just have to wait for my turn in September 2018 on the Conquest in our aft wrap balcony. If I ever happen to meet you, I owe you a drink, hopefully at Red Frog pub. ;p

A couple of our surveys went into the junk mail file. If you don't see one in your inbox, check your junk mail.

My wife and I were on deck 11 of the Triumph on our first Carnival cruise.
We saw the kids coming and going to Camp Carnival daily. Never a problem at all, so especially in February, I wouldn't worry about that.

Favorite class - Spirit, Love the layout, loved the Legend, loved our aft wrap suite on the Spirit, and going on the 14 day repo cruise next year on the Pride. Also sailed twice on the Miracle, mostly for the itineraries.
Our first grand slam! Now all we have to do is sail on all the Dream class ships!

DH got a tux several years ago just for formal nights, wore it on a few cruises. It's been a couple of years since our last cruise and the conversations here make it sound as though no one dresses up any more. Do any of you (or your partners) do tuxes, or do you see others in tuxes on recent cruises?
I never wore a tux, but I've seen them on every formal night. My wife and I still dress up, she wears a formal gown and I wear a suit. We do the picture round-up, and pick the best one every cruise. Maybe not the highlight of our cruises, but we enjoy it, almost like Christmas to us!
Whatever you decide to do, hope you have a great time...

Smelled it on the Dream, deck 2, the cove balcony deck, and on the Glory, at our table in the MDR. Every day. Hope I don't get that bonus on the Breeze in a couple weeks.

Carnival Sensation - 2003
Congratulations on Platinum, I think despite some of the bad press about the rewards program, you'll be pretty pleased with the perks.

Carnival Triumph. Still number one cruise for service, from room steward to DR waiters to bar staff. Also received an unbelievable upgrade from 1A inside to a room on deck ten with a floor to ceiling window! And didn't know about it until we checked in!
Despite all the troubles with Triumph and Carnival, we have never had anything close to a bad cruise.

Just booked a cruise on the Dream and it's all I can think about! I thought it would be fun to ask/answer some carnival cruising questions:D
1. Favorite departure port and why
DW - San Diego, she loved Old Town
Me - Port Canaveral. Everything is right there, and has one of the best dive restaurants I've been to.
2. Favorite carnival ship and why
DW - Carnival Triumph, because it was our first Carnival cruise, received a huge room upgrade, and she liked the layout of the ship.
Me - Carnival Spirit. I love the spirit class ships, but the Spirit colors and décor were most to my liking.
3. Favorite port of call and why
DW - St. Kitts, because Nevis is nearby.
Me - Belize, awesome islands and great snorkeling.
4. Best excursion you've ever taken and why
DW - Snorkeling at Pinel island.
Me - Waterfall hike in Dominica with Peter Green. Longest and most grueling walk ever. But worth it to do once.
5. Favorite sea day activity. why
DW - Casino.
Me - Lounging on the deck with beer.
6. Favorite meal in the mdr
DW - Dessert
Me - Prime Rib
7. Favorite drink!
DW - Strawberry Margarita
Me - Appleton Rum, straight up or with a splash of coke
8. Favorite cabin type/deck...why
DW - Aft wrap on the Spirit. Walk-in closet, huge balcony.
Me - Because my wife said aft wrap, I'll say cove balcony on the Dream. The closer to the water, the better. Looking forward to it on the Breeze in 20 days!

My wife and I always have early seating, tried late seating once and it didn't work for our schedules. I think it's a personal preference, so I would say try what you think works for you. Sometimes the servers we have had are a bit lacking in experience and it shows, for the most part we have loved having the same servers every night,
As far as food quality, I think anyone that can't find something really good to eat every day on a cruise, doesn't know where to look, or are way too picky. Don't like scrambled eggs in the buffet line? Try them in the omelet station or the MDR. As a matter of fact, I would suggest avoiding the buffet at all times, the food is just better everywhere else. Plus in the MDR if you don't like something, your waiter is usually happy to accommodate you with something else.
Every vacation is what you make of it, every vacation we've ever had has its stress moments, but in the long run they have all still been vacations. We're not at work, and we ultimately have control over what is fun, what is good, what is exciting, what is new to us. So go with the flow and have fun.
