  1. Can someone please explain the boarding process for embarking in Copenhagen please?

It appears that Favolosa with be in Terminal 2 on July 28th 2018?

    What can we expect?

Best time to arrive at the ship?

    How do the lines work?

    Are signs in English?

Any tips or suggestions are appreciated!

    Any pictures?

  2. The mini bar was fully stocked on Victoria last month. We never take anything from the fridge and would love it to be empty as we want our water chilled

The cabin steward unlocks the fridge when you arrive and locks it on your last evening.

Does anyone know if you ask them to clear out the mini fridge will they do it?

I have medicine that needs refridgeration.

  3. Further to my post above the so called Suites Mid-ships are not much better than the Premium balcony cabins, this is because of the new club rules that will put loads of clients into a suite up-grade if they cruise once more than the previous year with Costa. (subject to some conditions) the only plus with this deal is more points and the free Intenditore drinks package & free Spa day, this also gives selected dinning.

Look out for offers that gives Suites at excellent prices.

What do you mean by "look out for offers that gives Suites at excellent prices?"

  4. Hi,

I have looked a lot for this answer so I'm sorry if I'm posting a double question.

I have Premium Cabin and Brindiamo.

I know room service is free at least I hope :) But I have questions about drinks. Can I order coffee or beer to the room and if yes is there any cost for this service?

    Thanks.

    p.s. my first cruise.

Good question! I was wondering the same thing. As things are different from ship to ship and cruise line to cruise line one never knows unless we ask!

  5. If you post your itinerary, you might at least get some comments on the ports you are visiting. We did a cruise that included those countries, but I didn't have time to blog. That said, I have some notes that might help.

Thank you so much for your offer of help. We have a balcony on Deck 7.

We have the Brindiamo drink package but do not drink alcohol.

    Itinerary:

    Copenhagen

    Hellesylt, Norway/ Geiranger

    Bergen, Norway

    Kristiansand, Norway

    Aarhus, Denmark

    Warnemunde-Rostock, Germany

    Returning to Copenhagen

We will do 2 days pre-cruise in Copenhagen and 1 1/2 days post-cruise.

Any advice, suggestions, tips, hints or reviews on either the ship Favolosa, the itinerary or Copenhagen would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you all so much!

  6. Taking Costa Favalosa soon and looking for blogs or websites with pictures and tips and hints from cruisers about the ship but they must be well hidden because I can’t find any! Only finding info from Cruise agencies or Costa. Have seen the reviews of the ship on Cruise critics but we thought a blog would be better than the rants and negativity in the reviews.

    Thanks for your help!

  7. Thank you so much! The input from all you generous people is priceless!

We hadn't thought Girdwood would have enough to see and enjoy to make the trip! We will now have to figure out what to do there!

There are a few more "?" left in our itinerary still.

Anybody want to take a crack at those?? :D

    Day 1: Vancouver: Arrive 1pm - ? Then what?

Ferry to Victoria. Not sure what time we will catch the ferry?

Not sure what to do or see in Victoria in the evening?

    Stay at B&B

Day 2: Victoria: Butchart Gardens maybe Butterfly farm ?

Tour Victoria - Not sure what else there is to see! ?

Not sure where else to go! Anything scenic you would recommend?

Catch ferry back to Vancouver. Not sure what time?

The ferries leave every hr, so you have plenty of choices. I LOVE Butchart Gardens! It's very easy to spend 5-6 hrs there. It might be fun to go there the first day .. have dinner at a pub then drive to the gardens to see flowers during the day AND at night. Depends on where you're coming from and how tired you will be.

Day 2, wander around the Empress Hotel, visit the Royal BC Museum and Maratime Museum, both excellent.

Be sure to allow time for the ferry wait. You park in a line, wait for the ferry to arrive and unload then re-load.

Be aware that Butchart Gardens isn't really in Victoria. Assuming you get your car at the airport you'll drive to Tsawwassen where you catch the ferry to Sidney (Swartz Bay). Then a 15 minute drive to Butchart Gardens. On the return trip when you land in Tsawwassen, it's about a 30 minute drive into Vancouver.

What to do this day? Farmers market on weekend, museum, Native Culture Center, Earthquake Park.

I think you'll get more responses if you post your itinerary as a separate thread. Many people tend to ignore threads that get really long. I don't know why I happened to look here. I thought it was just a place where people posted which vendors they were using in each port.
  8. It's an Indian restaurant on W. 11th St. Checked TripAdvisor just now and its #3 favorite in Vancouver. 18 months ago it was #1 and deservedly so. We took a bus from the Granville Market area. I think the #10, but not sure. My husband's the transportion guy. My job's picking the places we eat. This one was a winner. Although I love all kinds of spicy and different foods, had never had Indian, so wanted to give it a try. Now I don't want to go to any other Indian restaurant for fear I'll be disappointed.

Thanks so much for the recommendation! We may just have to give this one a try! :D

  9.

If you like Indian, VIJ's is the place to go. Can't wait to go back before or after our cruise. Traveling around the city was easy on light rail and buses. AND I got all of these great tips from Trip Advisor, where everyone was so giving with information.

Hope you have a great trip!

What is VIJ's and where is it? :)

  10. You have a lot of time in MatSu, that I suggest you look further into. You have about 1 day too many for your current plans. Same with your Anchorage days. I would suggest a Prince William Sound Boat tour, or rearrange your itinerary and get to Valdez, and ferry Whittier/Valdez with a loop.

I again suggest you find out about Vancouver Island. It is hardly worth it to go there for only Butchart Gardens, there are some very nice gardens right in Vancouver. How do you plan on getting there?? Car offers WAY more options, bus is a lot cheaper. Figure this out.

Thank you so much for your input!!

    Which gardens right in Vancouver?

We have a rental for our time in Vancouver.

Is Victoria not worth the trip? Nothing else to see/do there in May?

I heard so much about Butchart Gardens from these boards I thought they were THE ones to see!

We are staying at the Landis for one night

Since we have a car for Vancouver, what would you suggest?

I had not heard anything on the boards about Valdez so we never considered it! What would you suggest for Valdez day trip?
