  1. We just got the $199 package on a recent sailing.

10 pictures that would have been $20 each, but for this package, they add a canvas print, which is probably what bumps the price up to show a 40% discount.

I do wish they sold packages of DIGITAL photos.

This was the first time we bought a package pre-cruise, after ending up spending about $300 on the last day of prior cruises.  They used to sell the digitals for a reasonable cost after you buy the prints.  We really just want the digitals!

Learned my lesson on this past cruise- don't buy the package if you don't want the prints! The digitals were $22 and they were $5.99 each if you buy the print for $20.

  2. Hello all,.

Asking here since they told us not to go to guest services.  Our Bemuda port just got canceled. They are giving $200 per stateroom and 50% off a future cruise.

How does the 50% off work?

There are 4 adults in our cabin.

Do we all get the 50%?

The cruise director said future Venezia cruise. Does it have to be the same boat?

Thank you! This is my 10th cruise but this is the first time I've encountered this!

    Book 2 connecting balcony cabins.

Get 2 pool towels. 2 seat in chairs and 2 seat on balcony on the towels. I'm hoping the two on the towels are your kids and not adults. If adults get 2 balcony cabins.

We have gotten adjoining rooms before- then found out when we got on the ship that the balconies don't adjoin!  I think we had it once or twice that they were able to open it up and we had a long balcony.

  4. Thank you so much!  Now I see I should do it online vs the app.

On the app, it says under "Gift Ideas"

Get your room ready before you board.

Gifts, flowers and even bottled water.

The app does not show Food and Beverages. They only only have "Beverage Programs" which doesn't have bottled water.

  5. Hello all,

I booked about 3 weeks ago for an Oct 23 sailing.

I did not get the insurance but now I think I should have.

Can I still add it? If yes, how do I do that? (I see the website is down today so I can't access anything)

If not, can you recommend other insurance companies I can go through?

I usually book on Costo and get their insurance which is separate from the booking- that might have been why I didn't select it when I booked directly through Carnival this time.

    Appreciate your help!

    Thank you!

I think the experience will differ depending on what type of person you are.....

If you go on Carnival to people watch, hang out at the bars or nightclub, (Fun Ship stuff) this probably isn't the best time, as the passengers seem to skew older and more conservative. They're won't be as many newlyweds, or friends / family groups that are generally more fun-loving and active.

But if you like more personal space and a quieter atmosphere, and if eating is a priority over socializing (Plus you don't mind covering your face (And expressions) with a mask), You'll have a great time.

    That describes me!

    Had a great time!

Oh, stuff was falling off tables. They ended up closing all outdoor areas, and moved the deck 9 and 10 smoking area into the rear part of lido under the roof. The entire front half was shut down. A glass roof panel got broken too, it was a mess.

We were on that same sailing.

Our waitstaff said they had so many broken dishes in the kitchen.

The sea was so rough from the time we got up to the time we went to bed- so at least 14 hours. My teenager skipped dinner and went to bed extra early.

What helped... green apples, peppermint oil (I will bring this next time- a staff member gave us some), ginger ale.  I would have asked for fresh ginger next!

  8. Pre-pandemic, I avoided booking through Carnival and used Shore Excursioneer for many cruises.

From Shore Excursioneer- A favorite one was the stingray city in Grand Cayman. We were in a small boat of 10 people getting personalized service and here comes the Carnival tour with a bigger boat but oh so crowded !   We did also do the Sharks and 2 other snorkeling stops in Belize. It was a rough day, get off the tender, walk to the meeting spot, ride a bus, then a boat.  It was still a good excursion though.

On our most recent cruise, I decided to book through Carnival only mainly to ensure that protocols are followed. Just wanted to play it safe all around.  Also picked a less popular excursion at Nassau. So great to not have a crowd at the beach.

  9. We were just on Legend.

I did not see the sides- such as baked potato offered anymore.

The dinner portions do now seem smaller. On the first night, our server had already asked us if we wanted multiple entrees, which we did. I don't think it's rude at all!

They will take your entire order- appetizer, entree, dessert all at once and if there's something that you want that you didn't already ask for at the beginning,  it might get delayed coming out, so you are better off ordering all that you want- whether it be multiple appetizers etc.  I love the MDR food but sometimes, the entree might not be good (such as the meat lasagna) so it's nice to have a backup!

Oh, there were not a lot of sides with the entree. I ordered a dish that had gnocchi and was surprised that it only had FIVE pieces of gnocchi.

The dessert menu is less than what it used to be. For the featured desserts, there's usually one really good one (such as the melting cake or cheesecake), then a low calorie one.  Then the others are the usuals- cheese plate, fruit plate.  I remember them having more options for desserts in past cruises so we'd order multiples.

Could you share how many were in your party and and what time you were eating each night?  I have never done YTD before but we are signed up for it on our next cruise and I am just trying to gauge wait times. Thank you.

There were 2 of us in our party.

YTD was from 5:45 through I believe 8:30.

On the Legend, Early seating was at 5:30 and late seating was I believe 7:30.

We clicked on Reserve Table around 6 p.m. from our cabin. Table was always ready within 10 minutes.  We really liked our waitstaff on the first night so we would ask the hostess to seat us in that area.  You can't make a request on the app so you have to ask them when you get there.  One of the nights, we were running late and didn't reserve till closer to 7, which was the busiest time.  We were able to get our requested table 4 times out of the 7 nights we were there.  We stood a better chance if we got there closer to 6 p.m.

This was our 2nd time on YTD.  We had always preferred Early seating but this worked really well for us even though we couldn't get a set table/servers every night.  We got mixed in with the Early Seating one night since the YTD was too full.  It was good to see showtime that one night.

We had YTD on the Horizon a few years ago. During that time, we requested a certain table and we were seated there every night.

  11. We were just on Legend and had YTD.

We just went on the App when we were ready and selected "Reserve Table"

Then it will notify you when your table is ready and provide you a Table Number.

They will hold your table for 10 minutes.

You go to the MDR (we were on Deck 3 for YTD on Legend, Fixed Time Dining was on Deck 2) and tell the hostess your Table Number.

You will then be escorted to your table.

It was really easy. Way better than checking in elsewhere. Our wait was no more than 10 minutes- the app will tell you how long the waiting time will be.

  12. Leigh was our CD on the Legend. I went to the Q&A and found him to be very no-nonsense, tell it like it is.  His announcements were bare minimum, no gimmicky stuff.  His appearances were cut to a minimum during our sailing as a precaution so we didn't see him around the ship at all.  It was a bit sad when he talked about how he can only be at the show, then get his food and eat in his room (which is pretty much the reality for all the staff- work, sleep, eat alone).

That said, I did kinda miss the gimmicky, fun stuff, but totally understand keeping things at a minimum during this time.
