  1. I'll be like Disney Jen and Carole....crying at the bottom of the gangplank tomorrow morning...BOO HOO....and hating (well, sort of) whoever is moving into cabin 408 tomorrow afternoon. Thanks to all the SeaDream staff (just wonderful people) for a great experience. It has been a trip that Ted and I will always cherish!

Welcome to the club, Gantt! DJ & I are glad to have you join us.

So very happy that you enjoyed the experience. It's truly amazing, isn't it? I relive it everytime I work on my blog. It's therapy, of sorts. ;)

Hope you & Ted, Meg & Phillip have a safe journey home. Shoot me an email when you arrive.

  2. All righty Jim ... you have been on our beloved SD2 more than 24 hours and you have not yet posted:eek: Guessing you are having a wonderful time and have forgotten all about us SD addicts and our need for real time fixes:p

All joking aside ... hope you all are having a glorious time!

I heard from ganttc this morning. They were ready for Saba today. He said that the Weather Channel had forecasted rain all week, but the weather looked promising. He said that Jim & Lois are cute. :)

They're in St. Barts now, with SDI right alongside them.

    Ah...must be nice. :)

  3. Happy Friday All:

This weekend is to be the beginning of serious packing while those interlopers are in our cabin this next week. As with Disney Jen, we tend to pile all the possible stuff in one location for winnowing down. Unlike Disney Jen, we will get it down to one carry on each.:p Firmly believe in the "two types of baggage" theory--carry on and lost! Also, in the spirit of Disney Jen, we are planning more aboard time than ashore. Saba will be a "sea day" as we have already done the tour and there are no beaches or towns to walk to. St. Barts is a beautiful anchorage and a great place to watch some of the world's best yachts from the comfort of a Bali Bed. Will take a stroll through the town for the inevitable t shirt but mostly SeaDream and the view. Did the car rental thing last time. (see the POS car segment of the review, FT) Anegada is a new stop for us and we look forward to checking out the flamingos and Cow Wreck Beach. Jost van Dyke, of course, means Foxy's, Soggy Dollar, One Love, and Champagne and Caviar. This is the preliminary plan. We will see what develops. Have a great weekend. Roll Tide!

    J & L.

How exciting! I'm insanely jealous! :p

I relived our time in St. Barts with yesterday's newest blog post. You're right - it *is* a beautiful anchorage. When we were there, James was stung by a jellyfish while swimming at Shell Beach.

Please remember all of us poor saps here when you sip a Painkiller in paradise. You know we'll all be jealous, er, thinking of you. :D

    Happy packing!

  4. Thanks. Was offered the $50 spa credit to take e tickets and might do that next time as this folder will be easily re useable but am not that big a spa junkie. Not like Frequent Traveler with her seaweed gargles and squid and pimento body wraps. Maybe they will expand the e ticket credit to use for boutique items or toward shore excursions. (hint-hint).

I certainly agree with expanding the credit to boutique items and shore excursions. I'm not a spa person myself.

  5. Jim,

just got back from a week in Southern California -and I thought I was sooo relaxed I could just let that little dig slide right by but I just can't. I will admit to trying just about every single massage treatment (except the Thai on SD - don't like exercising during my massage) but have yet to experience gargling seaweed (is that possible? wouldn't one choke? or is that your goal?) or squid and pimento ingredients (though I will admit to adoring pimento cheese sandwiches). However, I highly recommend the aloe treatment for too much sun or for moisturizing on your last night before departing SD. Really makes the tan last longer. :D

    FT

Add a couple glasses of champagne to that and not only will you be more relaxed, but your tan will last longer, too! :p:D

  6. Man, are we a bunch of SD saps, or what?

How 'bout constantly pointing out to your DH that your champagne glass would never get *this* empty if we were aboard SD 1 or 2.

Talking about our next cruise as if it's already booked (even though it's not and won't be for quite a while :().

Your DH telling you that you smell like a yacht when you wear Bvlgari.

  7. I dont even care about a free week. Just give me an upgrade to 315 (or maybe the new Admiral's suite) so I can write a review about how great these spaces are. Hey, only 97 more days!!!!! Oops, must mean balance is due next week. Must work harder! (sell more blood).

    Jim.

97 days - you lucky, lucky dog! I think I speak for all of us here - we're jealous! :D

You can donate plasma, too. ;)

  8. It would have to be one heck of an E Bay sale to pay for a week long charter! Having signed off on a couple of corporate charter contracts back in the days when companies took customers on incentive trips - either a Letter of Credit or 25% down is required at signing - then another 25% down fairly shortly thereafter and payment in full way in advance is required. And since a week runs more than $500,000 . . . . that's a heck of lot of blood Jim:eek: I guess that's why we call it an "addiction"

    FT

Heck, FT, I could fund the entire week with the crap in my basement.:D LOL. Everybody - quick! - run to your basements and...

Maybe SD would give us all a free week onboard because of how well we promote them here. This is a bit more than the "word of mouth" advertising they like, dontja think? :) Ah, one can dream.

  9. Can you be considered an addict if you've only sailed once but can't stop thinking about how wonderful it was and how you wish your life weren't so complicated that you can't plan another voyage for awhile but you keep checking these boards (and writing run-on sentences?)

Yessir, you can. The exact same thing happened to us, so we boarded again six months later. Now, looks like we can't get back onboard until at least 2010 (I'm pushin' for the crossing in Nov. w/ my DH). So, I'll be on this board and working on my blog for my fixes (and trying not to write many run-on sentences myself :)).

  10. Good Thread Frequent Traveler but SD jumped the price on a lot of the upcoming cruises. I will have to start selling blood to finance my habit.

    J.

    LOL, Jim.

Maybe we should start an SD Addicts storefront on E-Bay. We could all gather stuff and sell it there to finance our SD habit.

Then, we'll use the proceeds to charter one of the yachts, staff it with our favorite crew members and live the high life on the first ever CC SDYC Cruise.

Champagne, Gin & Diet Tonics, Red Stripe and Pain Killers for everyone!

    Any takers? :D
