I’ve made two calls to Princess and spoke to a supervisor. No one seems to know how to upgrade a natural history tour in Denali to the Tundra Wilderness Tour. Any advice? Anyone had success doing this? I was told it was a simple upgrade before.

Did they accept credit cards or American money at the cafe? I just read that the gentoo penguins are having an outbreak of bird flu and they’ve found some dead. I hope it doesn’t spread.
beautiful pictures.

I tried sending the picture dated 12/31/2023 with my account retracted. They would not accept it although they accepted it about three months ago for another cruise.

Recently used it for our April Enchanted cruise.
Painless and fast. I like it better than the “old” way.
It didn’t bother you giving your finance sign in & password?
-
Beginning Jan 1, Princess is using Stockperks for your stock holder credit. They requested my finance company, the sign on for my stock and everything. Is this safe? I feel this is very evasive and yet another way for Princess to make it hard for loyal customers to get perks.
you also can’t request it before six months of your cruise & must do it before your cruise is 4 weeks away.
I sent it by email & they advised it must be thru the Stockperks app.

This is really disappointing. Do you happen to remember his name? (Or if you would prefer not to name drop, would you provide some hints?)
No I don’t. A tall English chap. We had Angela teaching our line dance classes and she was wonderful and well loved. She trained under Jayson. The first day of the new CD, he was the dance instructor and told us to get used to the idea that he was rotating his staff and it was too bad if we didn’t like it. After a day or two of everyone complaining, Angela was back and I rarely saw the new CD again. Cole was everywhere and the new one disappeared except on the morning show each day. The difference was night and day. Even his staff seemed effected by the change in CD’s.

Both Jayson with a Y and Cole are the best. My grandkids loved Jayson. We had Cole the first section of our 2023 world cruise. He was wonderful. The guy that replaced him was so disengaged and frankly, a little condescending.

we_like_to_cruise.....I was watching an Island Princess video tour on YouTube and noticed how open the casino is to the Fiesta Deck, especially to the photo gallery.
Is the casino a smoking area?
I don’t think so. They have a really nice smoking area on deck 7 which had bar service and an outside place around the corner from the grill on deck 15.
this ship is older and she’s showing a few wrinkles but she still has some life and I’m not sure if she doesn’t try a little harder 😉

Thanks to you and JABTPS for your insights. I've been on over fifty cruises on several lines thus far and only had one cruise that I could hardly wait for the cruise to be over. That was because of the poor design of the ship overall and the poor design of the cabins - the NCL Epic.
On all other cruises, I've been able to find something to eat somewhere on the ship, a shady place to read and watch the sea, and somewhere to get a wee dram in the evening while listening to some low key strings or guitar.
I suspect that a WC on the Island Princess will work just fine for me I figure you gotta be somewhere, so why not on a ship?
We even have a bagpiper on board that occasionally plays.

I’m sorry you are not enjoying your cruise. We are also on this cruise and are having the time of our lives. The captain is keeping us safe, which I appreciate. I wish there was more food selections, but service is awesome. Everyone works so hard.
We have had grumpy old men sit at the end of the row of empty seats in the theater and then act put-out when someone asks to go in that row. Really? I refuse to let some of the grumpy people ruin our trip, so I just figure they are having a bad day and wish them well. We saved too long to let them ruin our once in a lifetime trip.
staff and crew are wonderful on this ship and we are having so much fun. Not to steal your thread but I thought some might enjoy pictures of other adventures.

We are also on the Island Princess- 111 day world cruise from LA - started January 19, 2023. Way to many sea days and with the jump from Taraunga to Melbourne more sea days with NOTHING to do - same "geriatric events" day after day. CD Cole isn't impressive with creativity, but once you experienced Matt O'Brian as your Cruise Director- you are spoiled, NO one is his equal. Would not recommend this cruise as a future WC, look at another cruise line and pay close attention to the long sea days.

On the good side, the lobster with the Louisiana style crab cake was delicious. Usually the lobster is a bit cold and rubbery. It was all perfect yesterday.

Wish they had a lasagna without meat. Since the lasagna on the menu has meat and the alfredo is no longer available every night, someone who doesn't eat meat, is left with just a soup and salad. 😔
You are preaching to the choir. I have tree but allergies and they use almond flour or hazelnut or some other nut in almost everything. It really narrows the choices.

The all the time fettuccine has been replaced with momma’s meat lasagna. It is also good. The fettuccine has only been offered once.

Lobster is in the menu tomorrow. I have allergies so I see it in advance.
There are several shirts with the world cruise on them. One for women is an ugly (in my opinion) pink one. They also have a nice jacket in both white and one in blue that Are a bit expensive at about $165 each. They had one really nice long sleeve shirt but the bigger sizes sold out immediately. I would have bought one if I was faster. They have hats and they gave us each a bag and water bottle and a backpack with world cruise on it.

We will be on the Island Princess in June this year & I wondered if there are any dedicated USB plugs in the cabins.
I know the Coral & the Grand have had these added.
Would also love to see a couple of MDR menu's if someone has the time to photo & post.
Many thanks
Dianne
No dedicated USB plugs in our inside cabin.

@We_like_to_cruise Do you know if they are doing Arts & Crafts on sea days? I enjoy doing those on cruises. I remember back in 2009, they used to do ceramics. You paint the ceramics and they had a kiln. That has since been long gone.
Many painting classes, lei making, jewelry, etc.

the Promenade Deck, 7. Due to the “reconstruction” of the Island
We are also on the world cruise. The food in the dining room seems better than our November cruise on Enchanted. But the specialty restaurants have been disappointing. The steak house is part of the Cajun restaurant and the steak was really good but the few sides were all Cajun with no substitutes. The Italian restaurant last night was disappointing too. Service was good, but the food wasn’t. We walked out during the main course. To their credit, the manager tracked us down in the wheelhouse bar and took the specialty charge off our bill.
the Irish couple singing in the wheelhouse bar are awesome. The line dance classes have been awesome and trivia is where Princess excels. Our cabin is great too. All help is friendly and helpful.
we love Cole and Angela, the entertainment staff. My recycled watch band / medallion holder broke while we were riding motorcycles in Kauai and the lady replaced it for free. The dealers in the casino are friendly although they take my money. Casino isn’t busy at all.

At the end of the cruise, which OBC is refundable? We have military, stockholder, promotions, and 10% excursions OBC. Or is any?

A what? I'm going to have to show my ignorance here!
It’s a small rechargeable sound maker. It can sound like a loud fan. It charges with a usb plug so you can sit it close to your bed and it drowns out noises.

We prefer rooms close to the elevators. We take a cordless noise maker too.

We will be joining your wc in California. Loving you posts.
