  1. Some Boatyard tips since this thread is here: Get a taxi/van specifically going to the Boatyard, they have their own entrance.

Get there early if you want an umbrella for your chair, even earlier if you want a good location closer to the water.

Don't get there too late - the day we were there they announced around noon that they were full and not letting anyone else in.

When you arrive make a reservation for the turtle boat if you want to swim with the turtles (free). They will call out your name when it is your turn to go.

The little stub hanging off your wrist tag is your ticket for a free drink.

Thanks for the tips, can't wait to go in June!

  2. If you are flying out of San Juan, you can purchase alcohol in the duty free shops in the airport. You can carry bottles on board and don't have to worry about packing, you can't drink them though since they seal the packaging. Does know prices or what they have in the we can bring home from SJU that don't have to worry about breaking in the luggage? :whiskey-glass::tropical-drink::cocktail:

  3. The only benefit I can think of is if you accumulate points from your local grocery by purchasing the cards, otherwise, what is the benefit?

On the other hand, if you use AARP, Verizon or Allstate points to save 10%, then that is hard cold cash savings.

I purchased a $500 Carnival gift card from Meijer. I received $50 in store credit by doing this. I paid using my Southwest credit card. I paid the $500 I had purchased the gift card with when I got home. I double dipped by getting money to spend at Meijer and point towards my Southwest Rapid Rewards.. winner winner

  4. Thanks, I have flown from San Juan previously. However, it was several years ago. I remembered I bought rum at the airport and they put it in a sealed bag with a shoulder strap. I still have it as it was a great bag that you could carry 2 bottles in and they wouldn't break. Good to know the prices are the same so I can pick some up at the airport and I won't have to pack. It won't be to drink on the plane, it is to give as gifts on when I get home.

  5. Everyone stays in San Juan pre-cruise. Does anyone stay post-cruise? Airfare is very high the afternoon of the cruise for us and drops in price the next morning. We are considering staying the night and flying out the morning after the cruise. The price difference pays for the hotel, and we get a night in San Juan before we head home. We wouldn't worry about what to do between the time we get off the ship and fly out. Would the same recommendations apply as where to stay if we want to wonder around Old San Juan when we get back?

  6. Thanks :) I also shot this video explaining hidden decks on the Glory...

Do you remember what floors off hand the hidden decks are on the Glory? I am thinking of booking this cruise to take my granddaughter on for her graduation. It could be helpful in booking. :)

    thanks in advance!
