  1. I have had nothing but good experiences with phone contact and Celebrity in general here in the States. Whether calling as a TA, or on my own behalf, I find them to be professional, courteous and knowledgable without exception. If they don't know the answer right off, they will find out for you ASAP. Now, if you are demanding, rude or trying to scam X, your mileage may vary...

  2. any USA guys know if I can buy a small bottle of poppers in the States??? I was thinking of putting a bottle in my luggage but not sure it is a good idea on a long flight...

We stay at FL Hilton Marina the night before sailing... so are there any suitable shops nearby that could be open late?

Readily availble here. There is an Adult Toys store on US1 between the airport and your hotel that carries them. Ask any cabdriver; maybe you can stop on the way to your hotel.

  3. There are a bunch of us on this cruise, and we will see you at the Elite Happy Hour if they don't give out coupons instead.

    Look at our picture.

See you at the Sailaway and I hope you signed for the CC PARTIES &ACTIVITIES.

    Dale

There will definitely be coupons used with so many Elites/Plus on this sailing, but I will still be drinking in the Sky Lounge as I love the bartenders there...

  4. Let us all say hi at the Connection Party. Is anyone joining the alternate passenger games on board, Slot Pull, etc?

    Dale

Hello, Dale. I usually attend the sailaway gathering, but due to the large number registered for this sailing, I may not get there. I will definitely be at the Connections Party, but that may be crowded as well. Mostly I prefer smaller gatherings and look forward to meeting you and other folks at the Martini Bar. Games, Trivia and Slot Pulls, no so much for me...

Alrighty then; striking a pose! The Martini Bar is the usual GLBT Gathering place, as posted on the activities board. What time do you find a group there? I am flexible being in Select Dining. Looking forward to meeting you and others onboard...

  6. Since no one has mentioned it, I am very happy with the many changes and enhancements that have been made to the Captain's Club program. For Elite members, nothing has been taken away, and many new benefits have been added, such as free internet and complimentary cocktails most evenings. Now that I am Elite Plus, my internet minutes have doubled to three hours and I am really enjoying my free Specialty Coffees. I also feel that the food in the MDR has taken a remarkable turn for the better in the past year, and discounts on Specialty dining are readily available for the asking. Overall, I am more pleased than ever with my Celebrity cruises, and Yes, I have been sailing with them since the year 2000 and have sailed on every ship in their fleet, from the Horizon on.

  7. Great review! I only wish you'd sailed west Caribbean, as we are doing soon, do I could get your perspective on the ports of call!

Having done both on the Silly this Winter, I liked both. Labadee was my fav on the Western and St. Kitts/Nevis on the Eastern. Mostly the ship is the destination for me. The Silhouette is my favorite Megaship...

  8. I have persoanlly inspected #7229 on the Sihouette and think you have made a good choice. It is mid-ship on the portside hump and should be quiet and stable. Also, while it is near the elevators, there is a wall in between to block any noise.

  9. In over 20 Celebrity Cruises I have never heard Techno Music in the MDR or even the buffet. Even on the pool deck, they normally play low level 'Chill' or soft rock. The loudest music you are likely to hear is by the party bands, and that is likely to be rock and roll or Caribbean music. Most of the comments I've read about this reference the Martini Bar, which is easily avoided if you don't like your music above background level.

  10. In order of my personal priorities:

#1 Low emissions, as green as possible

#2 Indoor TPool w/Aqua Spa Cafe, entire area open to 18+ only, no one :) under 18 even allowed to walk thru

#3 Solstice Style, no cabanas, w/hot glass, but 2100 PAX max

#4 Wrap around promenade with a dedicated running track

#5 Blu, dedicated to AQ only, no suite Pax allowed

    #6 Dedicated Suite restaurant

#7 Window cabins on the walk around promenade deck, 50% dedicated to

    singles w/only a set 20% supplement

    #8 Zero smoking

#9 Absolutely no one under 18 allowed in the bar lounges after 7pm; no exceptions. ****Even for adorable Peter, aged 3, who ran screaming thru the Ensemble Lounge for approximately 45 minutes every evening, informing all of us that he was, & I quote: "A very, very scary monster" His parents & extended family of grandparents was very amused.

The rest of us, not so much. **** :)

#10 A much larger included spa area w/separate steam rooms w/ocean view for men/women

#11 Smithsonian speakers on all European itineraries

#12 One ship dedicated to Europe year round

#13 Cabin set up comparable to M Class, WC's set up like S class

#14 Absolutely no one under the age of 15 allowed in Blu or any Specialty Restaurant at any time, period.

#15 Wine & Beer age of 18 all non U.S. based itineraries

Agree with all of the above except for smoking, #8, there should be very limited areas, away from the pool and passageways. This design of ship would be a winner!

  11. You will love Crystal for all of the above. Wonderful food, service and the best crew anywhere. Also very Gay and Solo friendly, including many of the guests. I have cruised with Crystal 22 times, both solo and with my Partner, and have never been let down.

    Andrew

  12. You will love Serenity. Nicest ship afloat in my opinion. Not at all stuffy; you will meet wonderful folks on board. Very single and Gay friendly, due to the low single supplements. I have always found like-minded Guys on board. Check in with the CD and Concierge; they will take good care of you. Don't miss the Avenue Saloon, Palm Court and of course, the steam room!
