I see the Voom prices for our Symphony cruise are down. I'm debating getting it, but our cruise has ports every day but one. And we have excursions planned most fo those days. Since Voom is not useful off the ship, can anyone tell me from their experience, how much they used it on a cruise like this?
Thanks in advance for your input.

We used Civitavecchia Cab Service. They were absolutely fantastic! We chose the shared shuttle option. It was a total of 65 Euros for both of us (DH and I). We ended up having our own private shuttle to the port and then a shared shuttle with two women going to the same hotel as us on the way back. Both drivers arrived early, were very friendly and spoke English.

Thanks so much for posting this! We are on the 9/27 sailing from Civitavecchia. We are spending 3 nights previous in Rome and we're really looking forward to it.
Â
We decided to embark in Rome with a pre-cruise stay since there is so much to see! It's a second Italy trip for us, and the first for our traveling companions. We spent 5 days in Barcelona a few years ago, and while it's a lovely city, we felt we could hit some major highlights in the one day stop.
Â
We have a driver picking us up on embarkation day, with plans to arrive at the port around10:30AM. Glad to know it will be so easy, and that we may be able to take carry-ons to the cabin.

I'm looking forward to your review, thanks again.

Hi Barb!
We are on this same cruise. Our roll call has been so quiet. Can you tell me who you are using to get to Civi from Rome? We are hoping to go early as well. Thanks! And thanks to the original poster about your experience.

I apologize if this has been answered but in searching the boards I can't find it. If we take a shared shuttle from our Rome hotel to the Port of Civitavecchia and then from the Port straight back to FCO, what is the wait time? For example if we book a shuttle to leave the Port at 8:00am (our flight out of Rome is at noon) will they stop other places? Will we wait on other passengers for long? Same question regarding leaving from our hotel in Rome...if we want to go early to get on the ship early how long can we wait for other passengers? I assume they stop at several hotels?
The ride to Port isn't a biggie but the ride to the airport is our major concern. Thank you for your help and again, I apologize if this has been answered.

Thank you. I assumed they did because i was able to get a fare estimate on their site but, I also got a fare estimate on yellow cab but then when I go to actually book it won't let me.

I am trying to get a ride for 4 ppl from Hyatt House Fort Laud airport cruise hotel to Port Everglades. Tried to book Yellow cab online but the yellow cab site and their app tells me they don't service Dania beach...
Can I get Uber in Dania? Has anyone used them from Hyatt House?

Hello! Maybe I am missing it but is there a reputable tour operator that does the zoo and possibly howler monkey place?
If not, anyone have suggestions on the best way to do this? 4 adults, no kids.
Another possibility is the zoo and a city tour...
Any advice on any of these is greatly appreciated!!

Oh and our cruise is April 9! Should have said that! See why I need a vacation? 😉

Check daily or a few times a day to see if a cabin shows up in your category. If is does, call and have it switched. You don't say when your cruise is so we don't know how close you are to actual sailing. A non connecting cabin could come up within you category the week before sailing and you can still switch it
I would watch, watch, watch and not pay for an upgrade.

Thanks! That is a good idea!

Thank you for the helpful input. We typically do not do guarantees either. It was a very last minute trip with friends and since their budget only allowed for a guarantee we decided to book in the same category as they did, in hopes our rooms would be close (which they are) and knowing they could not afford to pay more, we did not want to appear to be "upstaging" them. It will be fine, I am sure. Thanks again!

Yes, unfortunately there aren't any low and midship cabins left. Either high deck mid ship or deck 6 at the front. That is my dilemma.
-
Hello! We are currently booked in interior cabin 6119 on IOS. The price has dropped and it looks like there are some midship cabins available on Deck 9.
The downsides (in my opinion) to our current cabin are that it is not midship and it is a connecting cabin. Motion sickness is a concern. I would love input on whether it is worth it to switch...anyone who has experience...which location is better on this ship? Thanks in advance!
-
What about motion from the ship? We typically request midship cabins. Do you think this location will feel a lot of movement?
-
I did. They said our category is sold out. I would need to pay for upgrade. We are platinum members so I was hoping for a bit better assignment.
-
Hello! We did our first guarantee cabin on the Indep. Of Seas and got a connecting interior room on deck 6.
I read somewhere that connecting rooms do not have a sofa or as one person posted-"half a sofa" because of the door...
Is this correct?
Also, looks like our room 6119 is close to the Pyramid Lounge. Does anyone have experience with noise issues?
Really appreciate any advice. Trying to decide whether to pay to move to next Cat.
DH is very concerned.

We are facing the same issue. We have a group of 10 and trying to decide if a cab or shuttle will work better. I worry about getting multiple cabs at the hotel to pick us all up at the same time. We are also in the Blue Lagoon hotel area!
-
Hello! We have a group of 10 needing transportation from Hyatt House Miami (Blue Lagoon area) to the Port of Miami. Is it more economical to take multiple cabs or a shuttle?
I am getting shuttle quotes around $12pp which seems high for such a short distance. I did get a cheaper quote from KMC Transport but I can't find any reviews and I am afraid it will be a shared ride-which we definitely don't want.
-
We have a group of 10. Do they have larger taxis so we can at least divide our group into 2?
-
I saw that! Unfortunately it is only for sailings through December. We have a daughter getting married In November so we can't get away until after Christmas!

Hello! We have some friends hoping to sail with us on the Breeze January 11 sailing. However, current prices are a little high and they're hoping for a military sale (he's a policeman and veteran) or some sort of hot sale. Anyone know if this is a possibility? We held a room but if they can't go we might drop it before final payment in October.

My daughter and her husband will be going on their honeymoon cruise on Nov. 16 on RC Nav of Seas out of Galveston. They fly in the night before to Houston. I'm looking for a shared ride, economical shuttle to get them from the hotel in Houston to the cruise port in Galveston Sunday morning. Thanks!

Thanks! Did you find the Deluxe OV rooms to be that much bigger than the regular OV rooms?
-
If we book for two ppl but then have to add her at a later date will there be a sofa bed in all OV deluxes? That's the part I am confused on. Got two completely different answers from Carnival. Thanks!
-
I am looking for 3 person options on Carnival Breeze. Do all of the OV Deluxe rooms come with a sofa bed? My teen (19yr) daughter is planning to cruise with us, but if she finds a friend they will get their own interior. If not, we want to be able to have her sleep in our room so I was going to book an OV Deluxe for two but if it ends up she doesn't find anyone before final payment can I just add her to our room? TIA
Voom worth it if you are on a port heavy cruise?
