Hello,
It seems that all the Cruises which visit Tahiti are 15 days and beyond. Do any of you know if there are shorter cruises which take in French Polynesia??? We've taken a few cruises mainly to Alaska and Mexico.. but were wondering how were the seas? Were they Rough at times? I must admit I don't have sea legs, but have survived well with the behind the ear patches.

Hardly anyone ever goes to Daikoku Pier - except the employees who work there, handling containers.
Your hotel is very close to the Meeting Point.
There is a small park between the street and the meeting spot.
You will approach a tall wrought iron fence with just one or two entrances.
One of those entrances will get you access to a large open space with buses.
That is the meeting spot.
There are usually staff there at the entrance with direction signs.
Thanks Bruce...

Has anyone taken this free shuttle from Yamashita Pier to the Daikoku Pier Cruise Terminal recently? I downloaded a map showing meeting point but was wondering if there is a sign posted at the meeting point or some other landmark??? We'll be staying at the Hotel Monterey Yokohama and walking over to the pick up spot.

Port of Kobe
in Asia
Hi there,
Our Diamond Princess Cruise ship will be stopping in Kobe on Feb.14th, 2020, and there is only 1 excursion offered which is Osaka. Can anyone recommend any private tour operators in which to book excursions? We're very disappointed there are no Princess excursions going to Kyoto, and would love to visit. Thank you in advance...

My apologies.... I did jump the gun. I was finally able to get through vis phone to Princess, and they stated that more excursions will be added in the coming days....

Leaving on Feb 12th for 8 day Japan/Taiwan Cruise on the Diamond Princess. I may be jumping the gun, but I see that there is only 1 excursion offered in Kobe??? The other ports where we are stopping have numerous choices. I find it hard to believe that only 1 excursion is offered, with so many things close by. I was hoping to visit Koyoto. Will Princess add excursions as we get closer to sailing???? If not, I'll need to find independent tour operators for this port.

We're booked at the Hotel Monterey in Yokohama... rates were reasonable on Hotels.com and it is very close to the Ship Terminal.

We are looking forward to our Princess cruise in Feb of 2020. The port I'm most excited about is Kobe, really anxious to visit Kyoto. It's too early to book my excursions, but I'd love to hear from previous cruisers on their favorite excursion which included Kyoto. I want to visit the temples and do some shopping in the old district....

I have stayed in Yokohama several times before and know where Hotel Monterey is. Using Google Maps, I located your hotel, then used the "direction" icon coming from Haneda. Zoom down at the Yokohama end, and you'll see that the bus will drop you off at Yamashita Park in front of the Water Guardian Statue. From there it is about 500 - 550 feet to your hotel on level pavement.
Thanks so much... exactly what I was looking for 🙂

Four of us will be flying into Haneda Airport 2 days before our cruise. My question is... have any of you taken the Keikyu Airport Limousine Bus and possibly stayed at the Hotel Monterey in Yokahama by the Cruise terminal??? I'm trying to find out where the bus stop is closest to this hotel. My understanding is it's about a block away. I was hoping to pinpoint it on my google maps for peace of mind. We don't depart until Feb of 2020, so we have time. I tried contacting the Hotel with no success, and haven't found a way to contact the Bus Service.. I'm sure when we get there, we'll get plenty of help.... just hoping to have the info way ahead of time... Thanks in advance for your help...

Thanks so much.. very good information so far..... for those who have done this cruise.. do you have a hotel which you might recommend???

We are scheduled on a Princess Cruise (Japan & Taiwan) on Feb. 12th 2020 aboard the Diamond Princess. We are planning on flying in to Haneda Airport 2 days early, and enjoying Tokyo before starting our cruise. My question concerns the Princess Shuttle. The Shuttle will only take us from the airport to the Cruise Terminal.. If we fly in early and stay at a Hotel which is not part of Princess... can we take the hotel shuttle back to Haneda Airport on the day of our cruise, and catch the Princess Shuttle to the ship??? Our Travel Agent hasn't been able to answer this one... Hoping a seasoned cruiser who's taken this cruise can help answer.... or possibly offer some advice... Thanks in advance for your answers....

Thank You all for your suggestions... I have a few weeks to experiment with your recommended settings, and hopefully shop for some mounts as well... Really excited to see my results after the cruise..... Butterfly clip was awesome...

I just received my camera a few days ago... I'm a month away from my cruise. I would like to take time lapse on various stages of my Alaska Cruise.... Through experience... what settings would you recommend? Planning on mounting the camera somewhere on the bacony...
