  1. I personally don't see why you would want to go without reservation when there are a few very well recommended ones here that are much cheaper and better IMHO than the cruise one. Are you worried you may change your mind last minute? Nativeway and Captain Marvin are mentioned the most here.

And those are two that I would likely use. Do they require reservations, or accept walkups? Not sure of my plans.

  2. Maybe there's hope?

    From USA Today:

Tuesday, the sun was shining and the ocean waters were lapping casually at the sandy beaches around Key West, even if those beaches were dotted with beach boats and coral dredged up during the storm. Much of the damage to the island’s important tourist infrastructure appears to be cosmetic, or at least easily repaired, and most of the hotels on Key West appeared to have escaped virtually unscathed.

    Key West City Manager:

Well, in Key West proper, you know, we were on the west side of the storm, which is the weaker side of the storm. So we were very fortunate, as far as significant damage goes. We have some properties that have some minor damage. There's a couple of businesses or - that lost portions of roofs.

  3. I found that it depends on how far your cabin is from the bar. If it is too far away you may find that you have a empty glass when you get there so you will have to return for a refill. 🤗

    Drink up 🍹🍷🍸🍺

That has happened to me more than....well let's just say more than once.

  4. Bought the stock a long time ago at $30, just for the shareholder credit. This was before my first cruise, intending to sell right after. I figured there would be minimal movement over the short term, as it had been fairly stable. After the cruise it was down to $29. I figured I would hold it a bit and see what happens. I forgot to sell. A few months later I remembered, and saw it was over $40. Long story short, I still have it.

BTW, that first cruise was with my teenage kids. We had two cabins, so I also had my wife buy the stock. We split up one of us in each cabin on the reservation, and got two OBC's. So now I'm sitting on $24k worth of stock at 300% profit. :)

Kids are grown, we don't need two shareholders anymore, so I keep meaning to sell 100, keep 100, and use the profit to buy another cruise (or 2). But I keep forgetting :)

  5. You can also get money from the casino cage by charging the funds to your credit card and they will load it to your ship card, which you can insert into the slots or VP and add funds to the machine. They charge a 5% fee for this, so I would recommend bringing cash so you avoid the fees. If you are in need of larger amounts to play with of $1000 or more, talk to the casino host and they can waive the transaction fees.

On day 2 of the cruise they had a special where they waive the 5% fee and if you buy $100 they will give you $110, $300=$340 and $500=$575. They only allow you to do this three times per person and the offer was valid for three days forward. We purchased a package to get the free extra play.

Can you charge chips for table games to your seapass card? Is that Day 2 bonus also applicable to chip purchases?

  6. Better yet ... just go to Cruise Critic's sister site, Trip Advisor. Use this in conjunction with one of the online booking sites to see which ones have airport shuttles. Using these tools, we are staying at the Hyatt Place which was rated very well, has airport shuttles and gives you breakfast in the morning. It was a pretty good deal ... much more now than when we booked. And, the rooms have that additional square footage and they also have a shuttle service (for a fee) to the pier in Ft Lauderdale. If going to Miami, one of the shuttle services picks you up at this hotel and takes you to the Port of Miami for $15 pp. How can you go wrong.

TripAdvisor is Cruise Critic's sister site?

  7. If it's a REALLY big game they might even have it in the main theatre or Celebrity Central.

Very often it can be found right in your room.

We watched LSU beat Alabama from midnight to 3:30 a.m. one transatlantic, in our pjs right in the cabin.

Must have been a long time ago.

    Roll Tide ;)

  8. I really think there was a $5 minimum at the craps table early in the cruise. Last night it was so busy I couldn't see the minimum but we watched some guys betting all over the board.

I haven't noticed the black and white cookies yet but I'll be sure to try one and let you know if I see them. I've been there every day!

What are the max odds at craps tables?
