  1. I agree with UKTog that resort casual might mean what you would wear to a local restaurant in the UK. However the same seems not to apply in other parts of the world.  On a recent Pursuit cruise to the Middle East the message was obviously not passed on to a large group who turned up for dinner mostly in what we would term as ‘dog walking’ attire but a young lady beautifully turned out was turned away because her top had narrow straps.   It’s open to interpretation.

  2. A Cruise Director who knows the guests can make the difference between a so-so cruise and an excellent one. Sue and Patti have the whole thing sewn up.

We, too, were unfortunate to sail on Equinox last summer in the Med where the Cruise Director put the guitarist in the foyer each evening and the party band up in Sky. There was almost a riot but he stood his ground and said he had to respect the other guests who didn't like the noise. At the end of the trip, probably after the 'how are we doing' comment forms were gathered in, he relented and for two nights the place buzzed with people hanging over the atrium rails at all levels to join in the fun. There are many quiet areas on these ships and the Atrium needn't be one of them.

  3. We also had a guarantee room and were allocated an accessible one. Tried to get it changed as we did not need it. It is bigger but also there are some downsides. i.e. The walkin shower didn't have anywhere reachable to put toiletries, the basin was low down and therefore the mirror was in the wrong place and all the furniture was, as it should be for passengers using wheelchairs, just off the ground. if you are over 5 ft tall beware.
