In Cozumel. Attended lecture yesterday about propulsion. First question was about dry dock. Some info from second engineer from Panama (I forgot his name.)

This is what was done during dry dock:

New type of bearing for the azipod. $3.5 million. Delay of dry dock was because the new bearings weren't in production.

New scrubbers for the emissions.

New silicone coating on the ship. $100,000.

This is what he said. I cannot verify it's accuracy.

No cosmetic changes seem to have been made.

Did anyone else just hear the captain say something about the CDC and the guest being on the gangway now? What would they need the Center for Disease control for? Unless I'm mistaken and that isn't what CDC stands for.

I heard CVT, which is an acronym for a type of stroke. (According to google.)

Heard on the webcam a few moments ago: "heading down to the gangway with cvt, officers and the guest." Don't know what that means.

I'd leave at 7am. I'm in Central CT, smack dab between Boston and New York and I leave for my NYC departures at 9am. Sometimes get down there at 10:30, sometimes closer to noon.

A friend's parents are on board and they report late embarkation and late departure due to thorough cleaning after a virus outbreak.

Got off the Ruby on 2/10. Ultimate Ships Tour was definitely offered. Didn't catch the price.

If you go to Rondell Sheriden's website, it lists being on the Ruby only from 2/10-2/15.

You can find a lot of little places to sit and relax, it might be really nice when the water is warmer.

 

 

Gambee, I had to laugh at this. We just returned from the 5/26 sailing and, being from Connecticut, found the water temperature to be very comfortable! :p
