Yes regular taxis will be available but often expensive. Of course it depends where you want to go and for how long.Uber might be an alternative

Thanks, we have a late moring flight out of AMS.  15 min too early to get a transfer with Celebrity Cruise.

  2. We are sailing next month....(Celebrity)

How are the cruise lines handling the new testing protocol

...will we be tested  on board prior to debarking, (at whose cost ) and if we test positive what then.... I haven't been able to find any info.

Yes, I know but I can't book Walgreens yet.  Thursday 11/25 is Thanksgiving, so we need to get it 11/26.  Might as well get it on the way and keep on going.  We drive down most of the way one day early.   Walgreens will probably work for our next cruise

We aren't going till Jan 4th, flying in the 3rd so need testing Sunday the 2nd... already freaking out!!!

  4. Hi

Has anyone used Jack Trout "Cuba Classic Tours" out of Havana? Our cruise has sold out all excursions. We have booked before the June Date so we are allowed to book our own tours as long as they satisfy the P2P guidelines... I think...

Would really appreciate any info on this tour or any others you may recommend.

    Thanks!!!

  5. Well you have two options:

    1. Stay on the ship and pre-order a taxi. You probably need to leave at 03.30 at the latest.

    2. Book a room at the hotel at the airport (Clarion Hotel Arlanda Airport).

So as I have said to other before you, it really depends on what you think would be the most convenient for you.

Staying at the airport will obviously grant you allot of extra "security" meaning you don't have to worry about transport in the middle of the night and etc.

I can give advice and feedback but the decision is yours.

One more question if you don't mind.

Do you have a taxi service that you would recommend??

    Thanks again

    Lynn

    Thank you so much!!!

I think we will go for your option 1..

I e-mailed emergencyteam@celebritycruises.com and they replied that there were no issues with that departure, just to let the ship know we were leaving

Now to find a taxi company

    Thanks again!!!:D

  7. Thank you so much for taking the time to post!! This will be our first River Cruise

We are leaving June 1 for Paris, then to Amsterdam by train June 6th, then onto the Kara the 9th.

All reservations have been made and now it is time to sit back and read!!!

Loved your trip report for the AMS to BSL ports!!! The ship sounds GREAT!!!

We have been to Amsterdam and have been to the museums (including the Heineken :D ) So we are planning to just walk the city this time... I don't remember long lines to get tickets at the museums but the Ann Frank House line was long, however our tour guide had purchased those for us. (we went with go-ahead a few years ago)

We are planning on taking the train from the airport to Central Station, easy the last time we were there... Moevenpick is supposed to have a shuttle service from Central Station to the hotel But I have not contacted them yet. We made our own reservation at the Moevenpick several months ago , and have a really good rate.

Thanks for the posts, looking forward to read ing more!! I will post a review when we return!!!

    Just a couple questions

How far was the Moevenpeck from the cruise terminal??? and

how was the wifi ????? (Sorry if someone already answered this)

  8. I'm happy to report I just spoke with someone from Celebrity in Michael Bayley's office who called and left me a message last Friday. She was an absolute pleasure to deal with and completely resolved our minor issue.

Michael if you are reading this, thank you and your staff for making me feel appreciated and valued! That's a large reason we keep coming back.

That's all part of the "Celebrity treatment" in my book.

    Thank you again :)

Does anyone have a corporate physical address for Mr. Bayley? I like to wrire letters:D

  9. So, I keep seeing this question come u and don't recall getting a definitive answer.

When going ashore - take your passport or leave it in the safe?

Not asking your personal habit.... what is the correct thing to do?

WIth S&S car and driver's license or other photo id you're okay to get back on ship and Carnival covers for you if there's a problem with authorities.

BUT what if I miss the ship and have to get to the next port - or break my leg and have to fly home from that port?

I know Carnival (or whatever line) issues the S&S card and has your passport information and have always felt that is all I need. In fact, they have said lock it up in your safe and only had them tell me to take it on an excursion when I was going to go into Canada on our Alaska cruise.

No matter what your cruise line says...leave it on the ship!!!!! Make a copy and take it with you. My DH had his pickpocketed in Rome last week.

We had a really good private driver and she helped us file a police report.

We were able to get a temp in Florence with the help of another private driver.....ship was no help!
