I had a reservation booked for this month. I received an email saying he had to cancel the tour and that money would be refunded promptly. After no refund, I contacted my credit card company and they refunded me.
-
We also had a tour with Godfried for late February and he cancelled. I however did not receive my refund of monies paid with them.
-
Thanks for your feedback. I initially had a reservation for next month. But decided to cancel it an hire a tour guide instead.

We have always taken up the option of Anytime Dining but it is not available for our upcoming Japan cruise on the Diamond. I requested a table for 2 in the personaliser and am wondering how likely this is to eventuate. How does this system work - when do you get advised of your table configuration and can anything be done to increase the chances of getting a table for 2? If at a shared table do you have to wait for the others at table to turn up before ordering?
We always request a table for 2 early seating and have always received it.
But I always make sure on embarkation day to confirm our seating assignment by searching in the dining room for our assigned table or asking the Maitre D.

I would go on my own because that 3.5 hour excursion might be for less than 2 hours beach time at the end of the day, and there is so much to enjoy there, so I would much rather get at least 3 hours of beach time and most cabs that take you there want to make arrangements to take you back to the ship. If you ship leaves port at 4:30, you should leave Sapphire around 3 PM and still have time to browse some shops in port. The scenery at Sapphire is so gorgeous and the feel of the water and the ultra gentle waves are so nice that I'd hate going there for only 2 hours or less. It takes a good 25 or 30 minutes at least to get there from the cruise port, so that's why I'm worried you'll feel cheated out of getting enough time there if you take the ship excursion.
How was the snorkelling at Sapphire? It used to be really good.
-
Just wondering if anyone knows if Sapphire Beach is cleaned up from the Hurricanes and if the snorkelling is still good?
-
Thinking of renting a car and driving to different points of interest in Curacao.
Just wondering if it's safe and or difficult to get around there.
Has anybody else done this?

did they replace Dominica with another port?

In May, this "same" cruisetour, is a poor choice, if you are booking land first then cruise.
For Denali Park, you want to be there in June, and certainly not before a cruise if the entire trip is in May. Take your time, and understand all that is involved at Denali. http://www.nps.gov/dena
Even end of May, is only going to get you to mile 53. June 1 and later, the TWT has the option of getting to mile 63, major bear activity. My min. distance in is Eielson, via shuttle bus, which with Princess is easy to do, IF you are willing to make some effort on your own. A lot of people are not. Especially with any cruise tour, that has the worthless Natural History tour- which the majority of Princess cruise tours do. Be fully informed that you are NOT getting into the park.
Make the best plans for you touring priorities and interests.
Thanks for the the web site. It helps in my planning.

I loved your review. We are considering an Alaskan Cruise/tour and you gave me a lot of insight into this possible trip.
Thank you so much.

I was wondering what the differences are between these 2 Lines. We have been on RCI twice already.
Food ?
Entertainment?
Clientele?
Etc...
Thanks

The Windjammer on Oasis and Allure is small compared to the number of guests on board, so can be very crowded. Additionally, the Windjammer on Oasis and Allure does not have made-to-order eggs.
Johnny Rockets has outdoor seating, was not crowded when we were there, and makes made-to-order egg dishes. We thought it was a pleasant way to enjoy breakfast.
Thanks for the tip about Johnny Rockets. I prefer made to order egg dishes.

That's very surprising. Was it still before final payment date, i.e., you paid the cruise off early?
Yes. My cruise was fully paid. 2 weeks later there was a WOW sale. So I asked what they could do for me. They ended giving me $150 as an OBC.
Don't forget, you might be able to get the mud pie from chops to go. I did it last year on the Radiance , cost about $5
Thanks for the tip!

Royal has no equivalent to the Carnival "Early Saver" fare. Royal will give you price drops up to final payment date (with some exceptions), but after final payment date there is no credit of any kind for a price drop.
After the final payment , there was a WOW promotion and they gave me the promotion as an OBC. I guess, good things happen to those who ask!

Thanks for the information. I wouldn't mind trying this restaurant but I will have to convince my wife. She believes it's not worth spending extra money when the ship has free food already available.

How does it work when making a reservation for a specialty restaurant on RCI's web site?
Do they charge your credit card at that point or does the charge only occurs after you dine at the restaurant?
I'm just wandering what happens if our plans change.
I'm assuming that it is better to make the reservation in advance instead of when we are on the ship.
Can you tell me what the current cover charge is?
Thanks

Chocolate Mud Pie at Chop's Grill. Looking forward to it again in 2 weeks:D
Do you know what the cover charge is to eat at Chops Grill?
We usually stick to the "free food" but may make an exception this time?

We are on Vision. I believe that Rhapsody and Vinson are the same class ships so I would think that they would be the same for services too. Here is what we got in response to an email:
"I will attempt to answer the questions you have asked below, in blue. Some items vary by ship, itinerary and availability.
1 - What premium coffees are include in the package (cappuccinos and
lattes) any others? Where are these available on the Vision? I am assuming
in the MDR. Are there other locations as well? Are they available 24/7?
Cafe Lattetudes is the main location for these beverages. Here we feature illy coffee.
2 - What are the “specialty” teas? Where are they available?
Cafe Lattetudes is the main location for these beverages, we also have teas available in all restaurants. Specialty teas may be items like Chai.
3 - Are virgin frozen drinks included in the package such as virgin Piña
Coladas and virgin Strawberry Daiquiris? What other non-alcoholic drinks
are in the package? Would all on the mixed drink menu BUT without alcohol
be in the package?
Yes. All non alcoholic cocktails are included.
4 – What Frozen drinks are in the package? The information says “. . .
frozen drinks, non-alcoholic cocktails” or are they one in the same?
This is the same.
5 – What are the types of the fountain sodas offered in the package?
Coca Cola products are included in the program, Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Diet Sprite, Ginger Ale. Not available 24/7 but close to it.
6 – What juices are included in this package? Where on the ship could one
get these? Would pineapple juice and other juices be available using the
package from the bars 24/7?
Orange, Cranberry, Pineapple and Apple juice are available. Not available 24/7 but close to it.
7 – Where would one get the water both still and sparkling water?
All bar locations provide this service.
8 – Where on ship could you get what you wanted from this package besides
the MDR, any bar and the Windjammer? ?
All Food and beverage areas, except Room Service and the Stateroom set up - (Mini Bar).
Thank you for choosing to sail with Royal Caribbean International. We appreciate your patronage, and feel honored that you would chose to sail with us. We look forward to welcoming you back onboard the Vision of the Seas in March"

Hello,
We will be staying at the Hyatt Pier 66 after our cruise and were wondering what we could do for the day.
I don't plan on rental a car so it has to be nearby the hotel or not far from it.
Some people have suggested taking a tour with a water taxi.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

I put money aside each month in what I call a "trip fund". My goal is to take a trip/cruise every 2 years. Sometimes I have extra money which permits to take 1 trip/year. I also have a credit card that gives me money that can be applied to trips. I charge everything to the card and pay it off before it is due. My philosophy is to not buy anything unless I have the money to buy it.
Need tour guide for St Thomas, our's cancelled
