  1. Please can anyone share their experience?

I like the flexibility of any time dining and have some early excursions booked but is it a different experience and more hectic than the traditional? Any thoughts would be great.

I will be sailing on the Reflection with my husband and another couple.

The main difference is with Traditional dining you are seated with the same people each evening, at the same time! If that works for you, go for it! Otherwise, go Select, and dine with new friends at whatever time you feel like eating!

  2. As we never use the Aqua Spa Cafe I can't comment lol. But our group of 10 friends which spent a month on the Infinity last year and 14 days each on the Eclipse and Silhouette this year were more than pleased with the MDR menus and found a huge improvement over 2-4 years ago. We tried Qsine for fun but were more than happy to stay in MDR (early seating). None of us have an interest in paying a premium for Aqua Class and we actually get ticked off when we see our preferred Concierge cabins priced higher than AQ. So please keep on booking AQ so we can get better cabins lol:D Even going to the Elite breakfast in Tuscan Grill in June it was off putting to see the lineup for Blu in the morning. I know my DH would not be happy to be jammed that close at breakfast or dinner to someone he didn't know. Even the tables for 2 in the MDR are farther apart.

Once you go AQ and dine in BLU, I doubt you will ever go back to main dining! ;) We love AQ class and dining in BLU is wonderful! We found the food, service, cabins, balcony, showers, basically everything was just a little bit nicer! It was well worth the extra cost for us! YOMV. Enjoy!

  3. Anyone who travels today without insurance is foolish! Why take the risk? Our Manulife Cover-Me plan covers absolutely everything for $250 pp. for a year of unlimited travel for 30 days each trip. This includes $5,000,000 hospital & medical & $3,000 lost baggage, etc. So if our bags are lost, we are eligible for up to $6,000 in re-imbursement! :D. Travel insurance is cheap & gives peace of mind for any dilemma that should arise!!

  4. #1 Celebrity : No smoking policies, no announcements, Blu, classy ships

#2 RCCL : Wow factor of ships, lively entertainment, great shows

#3 Princess : Older passengers, average food, average entertainment

#4 HAL : +75 avg age passengers, ghost ship by 10pm, OK food

We are in our 50's now, & these were our experiences over the years! :D

  5. I think the speciality coffees are the ones with liqueur in them.

You are correct! However, some passengers have been told by the Café Al Bacio staff that even those liquor-infused drinks were covered by the Classic package! I guess it depends who serves you! :D

  6. I rent the tux and love that it is waiting for me in my cabin when I arrive on board! No more wrinkled suits, more space in my suitcase, and my DW loves the look as much as I do! A tux makes for the best photo op and there are plenty of photographers around on formal night! If you don't want to abide by the Celebrity formal night dress code, then fine . . . eat in the Buffet! Ya won't hurt my feelings one bit! :D

  7.

the price will vary depending on whether the resort arranges your taxi or you book one in the port. It is about 30 minutes by land (give or take depending on traffic - only one road) and runs about $40US one way. the resort price may vary. You would have to get that info straight from them.

I guess they get the jungle tour and we get the coastal tour! Either way, we all end up at the Resort! It sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day! We are really looking forward to our visit! :D

  8. We emailed Ti Kaye 5 days ago about a day pass for next month and never received a reply. Also tried a message through Facebook and nothing. We were there last January on a day pass and it was a great time.Very Strange...

The same thing happened to us . . . Robert (dive shop) finally sent an e-mail about 4 days late. He apologized but still, quicker responses are important if you want to gain customers' confidence. Otherwise, they will quickly move on to another excursion . . . ;)

  9. Will be sailing on the Eclipse on January 11 - can't wait. Who is the cruise director? Are they showing movies during the day on sea days? Have you signed up for any excursions? If so, are there any you recommend?

We are joining you & also wondering who the CD will be? :D

  10. We also enjoyed acapella groups on many cruises! However, what they really need is a group playing salsa or latino music in the main foyer or lounges! Now that would get people dancing!! It's easy to learn and alot of fun to dance to . . . :D

  11. We just did the day pass last week through Island Divers.

Thank you for this info. We just booked this tour for our arrival on Jan 19, 2014. It sounds like a wonderful resort and well priced @ $80/pp for the whole day including return trip via boat to the cruise ship. :)
