NADM now doing 18.1 knots between Grand Cayman and Cozumel.
-
Thanks for the update. What are the new port times?
-
Any updates given to the passengers? Thanks.
-
Any update from the ship on anticipated departure?
-
Did they give you an estimated time for departure yet?

Had a bathroom odor issue on an RCCL ship. Turns out the ventilation was blowing the stale air into the bathroom (smelled like a sewer) and just had to be reversed. Maybe that's the problem and therefore can easily be fixed.
-
I am surprised it is permitted by the US Coast Guard.

What are the numbers after the "#" about? Thanks.

Are you asking about officers, or hotel staff? EM
Both. Thanks.

I have wondered how HAL (or any other cruise line) goes about deciding which crew gets assigned to which ship. Anyone know? Thanks.

Does the flagship tend to get the better, more experienced crew? How does HAL decide crew assignments? Thanks.

Please note the time deadline is strictly enforced. We decided to do the valet about 6 hours after the deadline and were told it was too late b/c the airlines strictly enforce the time for notification.

Several people mentioned the Oceanic of Home Lines. Cruises many times on the Oceanic and nothing has ever come close. We have enjoyed all of our cruises, but nothing was like the Oceanic.
-
We were also on the 12/23 cruise. We are experienced cruisers and while we have a "go with the flow attitude" we still acknowledge any negative aspects. We had a wonderful time on this beautiful ship. The crew was outstanding and pleasant. Always senior officers around to ask how things were going. They seemed truly interested to see what was good and what needed improvement. Felt very little crowding, if any. No issues getting an elevator or with lines around the ship. Booked again for next year!

What is with all the hate for Anthem, I simply do not get it? The ship is huge, its beautiful, it has a ton of things to do and places to eat. For the life of me I do not get it. I LOVED Anthem. I love mega ships with tons of things to do. I loved the Esplanade. The food was excellent everywhere we ate. I'm at a loss for the hate this ship gets.
Agreed! We have been on the Anthem 3 times and loved it!

Why did the Allure change sides only a few hours after she arrived in MIA? Thanks.
-
We have been on the Anthem 3 times, most recently July 7, 2018, and on the Harmony. We always found the Windjammer much better on the Anthem as it is more spread out and much easier to find a table.

Has anyone had the surgery done by an orthopedic surgeon? I've met with two at major NYC hospitals and both have extensive experience with this. However, some people have said I should use a neurosurgeon, not an orthopedic surgeon no matter how experience they are. Any thoughts? Thanks.
-
Thank you all for your input. I am still considering a few different surgeons and even whether to have the surgery. It is such a significant decision. Will keep everyone posted and I wish all good luck!
-
I may have to have this surgery in about one month. The Dr. said to try one more epidural first. Have to say I am somewhat terrified at the prospect. Have a cruise on the Anthem planned for July and figured I'd be fine to go by then. To those who have had it how did the surgery go? Was it as bad as it seems? Thanks.

From an era long ago...Everett E. Everett. Home Lines "Oceanic". A great MC and performer.
My vote is for EEE too!

I believe the Oceanic did a transatlantic to and from Europe in 1966 or 67 for a drydock.
-
Does anyone know how RCCL or other lines decide crew/officer placement? Do senior people have the ability to choose their ships? Thanks.

We are on Deck 3 on Harmony 1224/16 cruise and had no issues at all! Very quiet.

The silhouette is of a Pinnacle ship, not the Oosterdam.
