  1. May 14 2017 Vista Western Caribbean sailing out of Miami shows up on Carnival's website just fine for me.

Hmm..I'm going to try looking it up with a different computer than what I've been researching on at home. I just hit the saved link every time instead of starting over, maybe that's why.....

    Thank you.

  2. I was on the fare viewer site for Carnival and was looking to compare rates between the May 6th sailing (which is already booked) and the May 14th sailing to Southern Caribbean.

When I search on Carnival's website for the May 14th sailing out of MIA, it doesn't seem to exist. I'm confused.

Is anyone booked for May 14th, 2017?

Is the weather still good going into the 3rd week of the month?

    Thank you.

  3. So excited to have booked an 8 night on the Vista for April 2017!!! :) Hope to read lots of reviews and see lots of pics and videos! I've seen the ones already available! Keep 'em coming!

Good for you! We're booked for May 2017, we can't wait either. I'm reading everything I can too.

  4. I've never seen any flavors except maybe citron an any of my cruises.

I order vodka, chambord and club soda and its pretty good. or you could ask them for a little grenadine to flavor it up a bit.

    That's an idea, thank you!

  5. Before you book Early Saver read the rules carefully!!

I know you are not allowed to change any names so I don't know if you can take your daughter off your cabin and put her in another one with her friend.

I'd not book anything until she and her friend are sure of their plans.

I will. I didn't think even think of this being an issue switching things around until I read your response to the OP. Thank you.

  6. Hi,

Be aware that the Early Saver rate is strict about things like no name changes or cancellations.

Only book it if you are very sure of your dates and of the people who want to go.

I'm about to book for May 2017 for myself, husband and daughter (24) in one cabin with the early saver rate. My question is, what if she wanted to get her own cabin with her friend wants to join us, would that be considered a cancellation from our cabin? I think my husband and I would have to change cabins to accommodate only the of two of us too. Not sure what to do yet...

    Thank you.

  7. Hi, I'm not sure what to do. We want to sail the Vista on 5/6/17. I started the booking process and was happy until I asked the rep if the deposit was refundable up to a certain amount of days, etc. He explained me that it would not be, that I'd have a credit minus $50. p/p toward future booking within 2 yrs because of my price point. I was booking deck 6 mid ship for $1399 p/p. He told me if I pay a higher price point, the regular deposit return applies.

This is so far away, yet I feel that I should book now because it's going to be a popular ship, but not sure what to do. If I paid the lower price point and the fare went down, could I still ask for that or only with a regular rate?

    Any advice from experienced cruisers?

Also, do we have to be seated with other people in the MDR or can you request not to be?

Last cruise was NCL and they did not have any raspberry vodka which is my favorite, can anyone tell me if Carnival carries it normally? If not, can I bring my own onboard?

    Thanks so much.

  8. We too will be in Tortola from 8a-4pm. It looks like you did your research.

How does the timing and prices breakdown to do the Baths? We have another sail/snorkel excursion booked but it doesn't go to the Baths. I'm just wondering if we would do well on our own. There will be 5 of us. (mom, dad, 3 young adults)

It looks like you are on the Getaway a week before us. We sail on May 9th. Our kids are 17, 21, 23. It gets expensive when mom and dad have to pay for everything!! :)

Our two kids are the same ages of yours and they are really looking forward to the Baths. There are 10 of us traveling.

We are going to VG on our own. Our plan is to take Speedy's ferry from Road Town, Tortola to VG at 9:00AM (30 min ride) The only departure from VG back to Road Town that would get us back on time with Speedy's would depart at 12:40PM.

Returning, Smith's ferry offers a departure time at 2:15PM if you'd like to stay on VG longer. I think that's what we'll do. So that would be $40 p/p if we decide to use both ferry companies (2 one way fares vs round trip)

Both offer one way or round trip fares ($20/$30)

Hope this helps. Have a wonderful trip!

  9. [You can TOTALLY trust any information from Blue Waters who is always very accurate and very especially helpful when people wish to take the ferry on their own to The Baths to have a longer time than offered by the ship's excursions.

Happily ... There's a beach at The Baths (we really liked the beach there) so all in your group will be happy. :)

Look forward to having a wonderful time! :D

Yes, blue_water is an invaluable asset to this community for sure. I sure am looking forward to this trip and feeling confident about the information and advice I have received here which will only enhance our experiences on our trip. Thank you Lulu

  10. The Baths are worth the time to enjoy, and there is a beach when you walk down to the shore, and a nicer beach (Devils Bay) on the other side of the boulders. You can also visit nearby Spring Bay, or have a driver show you Savannah Bay and drop you at the Mineshaft Cafe for lunch with a panoramic view and a "Cave In". Taxi fares are quite reasonable and there is lots to spend your time with on VG! :)

Here's one of the maps that shows the various locations on the islands -

Sounds like a plan. Thank you once again, this is very helpful to us.

  11. Hi,

We'll be in Tortola from 8:00AM - 4:00PM and we want to visit the Bath's. So we'll take one of the ferries over. What I'm not sure about is how we would get to CGB from the Bath's? Then CGB back to ship. What are the best options and do you think this is feasible in our time frame?

Any advice would be extremely helpful. I did not see a thread with this specific info, please feel free to point me to it. Thanks so much.
