  1. Thanks for the review..We cruise in 48 days on Elation..It takes us around 9 hours, so I'm assuming you drove in the day before, as you live a couple hours farther than us. Too bad we can't just drive to Illinois and hop on a ship in the Mississippi from there!! Thanks so much for your info and the pics. She's older but still cruises the same ports as the bigger ships. We can't wait for the Triumph either, as we mostly drive to port as well. Maybe we will see you on the Triumph one day..:) Happy Cruising!!:)

  2. Looking for a Park & cruise hotel...In the past, we've used The Drury, but they do not have park & cruise...We've also used Holiday Inn on Royal..But it is no longer Holiday Inn...We used points there the last stay..Any suggestions? TIA

  3. I got a price drop yesterday, cruise price reflects the drop, but OBC isn't added on cruise docs yet..I haven't received an email for any thing..Last price drop showed up immediately. I think they are running behind also...And when I called Carnival, the rep was not going to give me the price drop, although I was booked Early Saver..She tried to tell me that I was not early saver and because I now have an 8E balcony, which I gave up my cove for a price drop and got a BAL guarantee that my price is 400.00 more...lol..So I called my PVP..She took care of it..Keep trying if you think you are correct.:)

  4. What is confusing to me are the tax differentials. The price went down twice, taxes went up so The second time I called Carnival, because I too was denied price drop. The rep told me of the difference in taxes, I told her I just had a price drop the day before and taxes were different, she put me on hold then told me she adjusted for the taxes..? ok So the next week, another price drop, and taxes were higher..lol..It's ok, I've got OBC and going on a cruise!!!:D:D:D:D

  5. Anyone else having trouble with the Carnival website?

I tried Fare Viewer to check prices and it's telling me "no cabins available in that category" or I tried a different category, same thing.

I tried doing a mock booking and it's telling me "no cabins in that category for that number of people."

I tried interior, ocean view and balcony.

    Hmm.

Did same thing to me with Explorer...I opened it up in Crome without a problem.. I then searched for fareviewer, saved as homepage and haven't had a problem...It's all crazy to me!!:D

  6. Thank you everyone for the updates on the Dream.

Does anyone have any recent Eastern Fun Times? I found some older ones, just wondered if they had changed.

I was spoiled by Ron Pass on the Breeze when it comes to the Piano Bar. Couldn't stand to be in the atrium on the Paradise when the Piano Bar was open. It wasn't just me, our group of 16 had to get up and leave the first night we went.

I'm also interested in the Dream, Eastern Iten. as well....Anyone?? Just 4 weeks left till we sail and trying to read whatever I can!!! TIA!!!!:D

  7. All L-shaped cabins are not the same on each ship/class. That's why some beds split into twins and some don't. And some have couches and some don't. And some have lounges on the balcony and some don't. You would definitely have to ask someone who has been on the exact ship and even then, you're answers may vary...... I had one person argue with me about the fact that my room didn't have a couch..even when I showed them the picture...lol.

Thanks for the reply.I would ask my PVP, but It seems I know more about the rooms than her...lol..She didn't know what an L shaped was when I asked last year..also, some of the aft cabins are bigger than others on the conquest..;)

  8. I had an L-Shaped on the Victory and loved it - except it was above the karaoke lounge so the bass was a little annoying at night. I do not think the beds can be split but have read differing opinions depending on the ship. I have also read that sometimes the headboard is against the window side of the room and sometimes it's against the opposite wall. In our cabin, the beds could not be split and the little table between the couch and the bed was bolted down as well. I would book another one but would make sure it was a deck higher so we were above other cabins next time. Here are a few pictures if that helps:

We have an L shaped balcony on the Dream next month...Do all L shaped balconies have a couch? I thought I read somewhere that cabin 6484 did not have a couch..?
