We are on the same cruise and had the same question. We are arriving at FCO at 8:20AM and were planning to go right to the port. I wasn't sure how long we would have to wait for boarding. I was told they don't start boarding until 1PM. But I am not sure if that is accurate.

I'm on the 9/19/23 cruise out of Port of Civitavecchia - can you let me know when they start to let people on the ship as it is a later departure (ours is 7pm) than the normal Caribbean ones I go on.  Thanks..

  3. We were on the first cruise following the changes out of Tampa on Sept. 10th. The first woman at check-in seemed confused when we said we were not vaccinated. She said that we would need to be tested. I explained that the website said that we just needed pis with names, date and test  results. She started looking through papers when another person came over, looked at our pics and said that we were good to go. No problem!

  4. I have done both. At GC, stingrays are everywhere. So are people, although usually separated in groups. You are in about waist deep water. I've done this three times. We just went to Gibbs Caye a month ago and it was more on a beach. We saw just a few stingrays, but did interact with one. Mostly the guide held it. It did feel a little more free at Grand Cayman with so many.

  5. About a month ago, we went with a local vendor on an excursion in Jamaica. Our van broke down and we had to wait 45 minutes for another vehicle, then that vehicle got a flat tire and we had to make the rest of the journey on a donut. Our driver was doing double the local speed limit for an hour. Then we hit city traffic and were stuck for an hour there. We were across the bay and could see the smoke from the ship.

We were pretty nervous as we were an hour late for departure.

We were those pier runners that we never thought we would be. We typically always get back on the ship about an hour early. I never thought this would happen to us and we caught a little crap from people laughing at us as we ran. I was yelling up to them about what had happened to us, but I don't think they believed me. LOL
