  1. Unfortunately this didn't work for me - I called the pre-cruise concierge about 10 days before our trip on the Gem on 11/25' date=' just to ask for the fridge to be cleaned out, and requested some specific pillows. None of it happened, but we asked our fabulous steward Gigi once we'd gotten settled, and she took care of it all. Not sure if the request just didn't make it to the boat or what?[/quote']

us to - nothing I requested was there --- waste of time, but our butler took care of it all

  2. I have several things I could say to that but I don't want to get this thread shut down so I'll just keep them to myself

Thank you for the kind words. We always have fun but it was great with this group because we had over a year to break the ice and get to know them. I can only imagine what we'll be like on the Victory :D

I know ! After John saw that, the next night, he brought a pair of CLEAN jockey shorts - you can gues where they ended up lol

Now remember, Ron is a friend of ours

  3. Thasnks Chris for the shout out for pic credit. Good to see my mug in there after the 1st unflattering one of me looking goofy on the Banana Bus. :D I can see that drunk lady too that was trying to hit me up in one of the pis of You and Ehrman scowling at camera. Was I glad to ditch her! Remember her throwing a dollar AT Ron Pass instead of the tip jar?

i've seen "ladies" throw their panties at Ron, eeek !

  4. Hi all,

Just wanted to give you a word of warning if you plan on buying any of the designer watches on the Breeze. They have a big watch sale that is very popular. The brand of the watches is Cote d'Azur. they are beautiful watches that Carnival claims usually cost about $100. They will be on sale for $20.

I bought one that looks like an aviator watch that has 3 little dials on the face. I tried to set it last night and discovered that the three little dials are painted on!

Was it still a good deal? Sure. where else can you buy a nice looking watch, pen and wallet set for $20? But it definitely is not a $100 watch.

As stated on my review on a different thread, we loved the ship and had a great cruise. We had very few problems as are planning on cruising the breeze again.

and you didnt notie this BEFORE you bought it ?

  5. What

OK, sorry everyone. Work was......not fun today. I did get a lot typed up at lunch so hopefully I can get through all of Friday tonight.

Friday – Nassau (Birthday Girl) : So my sweet baby girl was so excited the Wednesday before we cruised that she thought it’d be a good idea to run (on our treadmill) more than she ever has before. Her foot on the other hand was not as enthused and started bothering her Thursday evening and was really painful by the time she woke up Friday. We hadn’t planned on getting off the ship but she wanted to check out the Pharmacy to see if she could find a wrap or something to help her foot.

This was docked across from us when we arrived

what IS that food ---looks yucky to me lol

    Atlantis is beautiful

hope Cass's foot got better !

We slept in til about 9 and took our time getting ready. Made it up to Lido for breakfast around 9:30. yeah right. The lines were ridiculously long! It was about a 10-12 minute wait for standard buffet breakfast. We headed to Blue Iguana and that line was about 15 minutes for a much better breakfast. It was our first time having breakfast there and it was much better than I expected.

Deb and Erman came over and we got to have breakfast with them. We got off the ship and walked around Nassau for a bit since we didn’t get to our last trip. Cass’ foot was really bothering her so we found the Pharmacy and headed back to the ship.

    Atlantis - pricey but awesome

  6. Well, Chris's laptop has decided to take a coffee break while he was trying to upload his last post and he said the hell with is and is shooting things in Halo 4 now, so I'll follow up our 1st day's recap with what he intended to post, but couldn't ;)

So far, the ship exceeded expectations with decor, and the layout of everything was good. I still had trouble with remembering that Deck 5 had all the fun places, and 10 had all the "Lido" stuff (different than the classes we are used to) but then again that could have been the Funships and Martinis at the Piano Bar...

Speaking of - As Chris said, Ron Pass really is top notch entertainment. Forget the comedy shows folks - Ron can serve up amazing piano skills, a great voice, and a healthy dose of comedy all in one. As you'll see a little later, he had his 10 year anniversary with Carnival, and we were truly grateful to be able to be a part of it. Rontourage for life! SOCIAL!

After we stayed for the last song, which ended most nights around 1:15/1:30, we decided to call it a night and made our way back to our new home for the next 9 days.

Some days in the Cove were more peaceful than others as far as being able to really "enjoy" the balcony. This first night it was really windy on our side of the ship while we were booking to Nassau, and we had quite a show. The next morning it looked like a salt shaker had thrown up all over our balcony, but we were able to catch some pretty impressive sights (albeit all while getting slightly wet LOL)

I also shot a really quick video of the action - feel free to check it out... (really wish we could embed video on CC!)

Quick Video of Sea Spray from our Cabin:

Till Tomorrow folks! Thanks for reading, hope to have you follow along for the next 9 days :D

    yes Ron is AWESOME !

He and my son went to grad school togeher in DC

In fact, tehy were both in the Pentagon 9/11 !!!!!

we keep in touch - he really is a super guy :)

  7. We went back to the room to freshen up for dinner and Cass wanted to put out our door decorations that she had spent the previous weekend creating.

    P1010874.jpg

I stepped out onto the balcony and was greeted with a salt spray shower. It was rather rocky this evening and the wind was blowing back in our direction.

    P1010875.jpg

And here's another quick picture of the cabin with the curtain pulled back a little.

    P1010876.jpg

A quick note on this room, it was an adjoining cabin. I did not realize it until this cruise was well oversold and wasn't going to change since we were in the same cabin on the 8 day. It wasn't as bad as I've heard stories of but there is definitely more sound coming through that wall than the solid wall. It's not a deal breaker but I'll certainly be more cognizant of booking rooms in the future.

    the colors are very nice

btw on NCL in OSheehan's, a pub, grill EVERYTHING IS FREE except drinks

burgers, wings. cabbage soup, bangers and mash and much more ! It's open 24/7

  8. We have heard that they offer some specials each night for dinner in the Epic Club. If this was true on your trip could you tell me if they posted them somewhere in advance so that we could chose if we wanted to eat there that night. We are on the TA next month and the dinner menu seems limited for 13 days. Some of the other restaurants seem enticing.

    Thanks :)

    Jackie and Tom

The concierge will have them :)

  9. One last question - how far in advance do you think I should call? Our cruise leaves right after Thanksgiving so I was thinking the week before that (2 weeks before the cruise)' date=' in case a lot of people have the holiday off on land.

Thanks for all the info, including the pool. No way my 3 yo will be able to stand but I'm sure she'll enjoy it anyway!

Do you happen to recall the type of flooring of the Haven? Is it soft carpet or something like rattan? I'm asking because my little one might enjoy crawling around but not if it's a scratchy surface.[/quote']

    It's carpeting - kinda like indoor/otdoor

  10. I met two ladies on a cruise once and hung out with them...we decided to check out our pics that had been taken..next thing I know one of them was STEALING the pics!! How you may ask? She was peeling the little detectors off the back off the pics so that when you went to leave the detectors did not go off!! I cant tell you how many pics she swiped..I couldnt do it but she made a killing and so did some others:eek:

    wow ! some people

  11. I would love to see whole grain meusli (not granola), truly 100% whole grain bread/toast, brie, plain unflavored and unsweetened yogurt, good breakfast sausage with no fillers, and good thick cut bacon. But these items, as well as the items you listed are expensive, and we will never see them on Carnival. Their menu will probably continue to be gutted, and the offerings will lean more and more towards fast food. This is one of the reasons we are going to try Princess next year. Hopefully, we will find better food there.

NCL has the meusli - very tasty !

  12. I like the decor of the Breeze in general, but the OS on the current Carnival Ships has a more luxurious and spacious feel with the mirrored walls, the marble countertops and the crown moldings. The OS on the Breeze looks just like any regular cabin except for the larger size. Definitely won't be considering an OS when and if I book my Breeze cruise.

Yeah, suites on CCL are nothing to write home about - try NCL !
