  1. I have a name tag that was made by the same person who made those posted by Sea Shark, and I treasure it. It was left for me on the Star, and is special !!! I appreciate the time and effort that was put into it, and it is firmly entrenched in my memorabilia !!

Some people appreciate those things, and some ridicule those who do it. Go figure !!!

I too still have some of my name tags.

  2. I'd also like to see Whippets name tags.

Here's another version of mine that uses less ink.

Peg, How cute. Thanks so much for sharing your work. These are my favorite of the two :). Less ink is better of course. We love to snorkel, so the snorkeling fish in both is great! Also, thanks for posting which labels these are compatible with, it really makes it easy for me.

  3. Colin-yes you may reprint, the form is on the website.

When you go to the office supply store to purchase the labels that you will be printing out so that each person can fill in their information you will need to purchase Avery 5264 labels. They will print out six name tags per page, that way you will know how many packages you need to purchase. There is no waste this way since the names are not actually printed in and you can save any extras (not everyone shows up for the Meet and Greets!) for your next cruise.

I have to admire the name tags that were shown above, would love to talk to the person who made them!

I just opened the file for the name tags that was posted above and I see that they have 10 nametags per page, different than my template, which has six and uses much less colored ink. If you are interested in seeing the Cruise Critic name tags I have I would be glad to share the website. For the ten per page you would need Avery 5163 labels.

I would love to see them. Thanks for pointing out the colored ink issue. Had not thought about that. Also got a PDF file that Host Kat was able to post. I think that was six per page. Have to check to see if the labels she used were the stick on type or not.

  4. You really don't need to spend too much time on this. Despite your best efforts, most people won't care about a fancy nametag. At all of our Meet and Greets, NCL has provided blank name tags for folks to make their own. It's one less thing to worry about.

I brought along post-it notes and a pen. No need to obsess over these things is my motto. It worked fine. I prescribe to the KISS method of doing things. (Keep It Simple Stupid:D;))

    Thanks, will keep it simple.

  5. Could you open the ones I attached to post #5? I could email you them in a word file if you tell me if word for mac and word for PC's use the same file extensions...or what extensions mac can open.

Yes, thank you, I am able to open them. Hoping the labels I buy will line up with them. Did you use stick on labels?

  6. Thanks everyone for the help. I have been experimenting with Word, boy is it time consuming. Kudos to those who volunteer to bring name tags to the M&G. Especially for a large number of people.

My goal now is to print out stick on name tags with the Cruise Critic name and a place for people to write their screen name and real name, when they arrive. I have to get to the store to buy the labels, and I know when I get there I will be in the store forever trying to decide which ones to buy. Ugh!

Love the tags that were posted here. After playing around on the computer, I appreciate how much work those must have been. So nice. My roll call has a good turn out, but it is on the quiet side, so since I have organized the M&G, I don't want to have to ask someone else to volunteer for this job.

Thanks again for the help! Wish we could have a sticky for name tags on the NCL board with a logo, and a cute saying llike Cruise Critic loves NCL.

  7. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!

We went to Horseshoe Bay and Church Bay. The snorkeling was terrific at Church Bay.

We hopped on the #7 bus and asked the driver to drop us at Black Bay. When we got off the bus...there were the Do not enter signs and Pink House, exactly from your pics!

My son joked, "Dad do you think that man is the one in the next pic?" The Man stood and greeted us asking if we were looking for seaglass and pointed us down the path!! :D

Your directions were perfect and my kids filled their bags with seaglass.

We walked back up the hill and caught the #7 bus back to the Dock.

We would have walked but the day before we walked way too much for the kids around the Battery in St. Georges!

Thank you for taking the time to give us so much info it made our trip extra special!!!!

I want to add that the people in Bermuda are the friendliest!!!!!!!!! Everyone was so helpful and kind. It was a beautiful 3 days!!!

Thanks for the update. Have plans to go to Church Bay. Did you catch the #7 from there to go back toward the seaglass beach? If so how long did you wait, and what time of day was it appx. Thanks again.

  8. We walked to Sea Glass Beach on Monday (7-17) The photos were a great help, it felt like a scavenger hunt finding our way. The walk was about 25 minutes. We did not feel that there was a safety issue.

Thanks again, I look forward the my art projects and sharing the glass with other people who collect it.:D

Thanks for the update. It is appreciated.

  9. Hi Ricatine and the Ducks,

When I did the original walk with timing, it took me just twenty two minutes from the Seaglass beach to the Clocktower Mall in the Dockyard (to the ship itself would be a bit longer, obviously).

You could therefore take a bus or taxi out and then stroll back (using the handy directions at the start of this thread).

I did it at Lunch time. It was hot. I would suggest you do this in the morning before it gets too warm, or maybe the evening, but not too late that you lose the light.

    Have Fun!

    Thanks, good to know.

  10. rikatine asked: ....how much time to put aside for this walk. Is morning or afternoon better?....

The distance is about 1.2 miles from the wharves' ramp to the sea glass beach. I would guesstimate the walking time each way to be 45 minutes. I would do the walk in the morning before the afternoon heat arrives.

Thanks, you read my mind about the pm heat. Appreciate your help. :)

  11. I just got back from a cruise Sept 19 so the info is very up to date. I cant speak for Dollar but I can assure you 100% that Alamo offers a shuttle service from MIA rental car complex to the POM for free (with rental documents showing you rented a car). The shuttle takes you right to the porters at the pier (the same place cabs and cars drop people off) so handling luggage is very easy. (A fullsize rental with Alamo was $29 + tax)

You pick up the POM shuttle at the very west end of the complex. There is a small sign on a stand or just ask any employee outside.

Thank you for the current info. My sisters rental is from Alamo for the trip so we are relieved that the shuttle is still available.

I emailed Dollar, and it seems like they still have one running...As with anything current info from people who have just recently returned is reassuring.

  12. Love your post about your search for "the people". It is really hilarious with the pictures to go with. Felt the same way on the Adventure of the Seas. That is one reason we liked the Radiance class ships. But here we go, booked on the Allure late next year.

Did you go to the Globe and Atlas?

Thanks for your review so far, got a good laugh and great detailed information too. Love it!
