I'm glad you enjoyed the cruise. We have been on Gem twice, most recently out of Bordeaux just before it redeployed to the Seine. We did the Seine cruise last year on Scenic Diamond. In fact, we enjoyed Diamond more, but Scenic is just wonderful and we will do it again. We are looking at a Rhone cruise or perhaps a Loire itinerary, maybe in 2019. But definitely Scenic.

We will be visiting Victoria on September 29 for a short stop. We arrive at 5 pm and leave at midnight. Not much time, but we do like to visit pubs and hear live music. Does anyone have any recommendations or pointers for us?

We just booked an Alaska cruise for this coming September, and the beverage package was included as a perk. I think this is great, but I have a question. My wife and I are wine drinkers, and the only way we can see that this may be a problem is if the wine by the glass is more than $10. Does anyone know what the per-glass prices for wine (obviously they will vary depending on the wine) are on Princess?

If you have a smart phone, don't forget that you can use Skype when you have a wifi connection. For example, last month we were in Cozumel. There is an internet cafe right across the road where you can connect wirelessly with wifi for $4/hour, and I used Skype to call my daughter from there. I think you need a Skype account and it will cost a few cents a minute, but really almost nothing. And you can check emails, etc while you are there.

We just got back today. What a fantastic parking lot! It is just across the street from the terminal, so we just rolled our bags over. There is no shuttle, but one is unnecessary. Reserve and prepay on line, and they wave you in when you arrive. And the indoor parking was $40 for a 5 day cruise.
