    Morning Bill and Marie

Frist Happy Birthday Marie, the best place to be celebrating your birthday.

Just wanted to add that when we went to PearL Harbor last year, we never got to the Arizona as the water was to choppy and they were not doing the tender boats there. Had to say, was very disappointed. But yes, a very intense and emotional day there.

Enjoying your trip report. Bringing back a lot of great memories.

    thanks for sharing

  2. Hopefully you know this but just in case your husband can ask for wheelchair assistance at the airport

Also from Illinois ..... GO CUBS !

We have been discussing this and we are thinking maybe just renting. Less hassle. Yes we are aware of the wheel chair assistance at the airport. This is why we are thinking maybe just renting at this point.

Not a big sports person but a south sider here but your right GO CUBBIES. Hopefully they will pull off the next 2 games.....would like to see them win this.

If you take your own scooter, ensure you clear it with the airline that you intend to book with. They all have different rules and regs regarding model, type, size and type of battery (must be sealed). The airline only allows a finite number of scooters per flight. When you check in, despite being told it wasn't needed, you may be asked for a specification sheet that is unique to your make and model of scooter. Fortunately I had it with me and I now have a laminated version tucked in to the backpack on mom's scooter. You can get this info from your instruction booklet or online from the company. Take extra keys for the scooter. I have extra one taped under the seat. Also, put an address label on EACH part of the scooter as they could take it apart and you don't want it mixed up with the pieces of someone else's scooter.

When you disembark the plane the scooter may be there waiting for you or it may be taken to "special services".

Thanks for all this information, I most likely would not have thought about all this. But like I said to the above poster we may just do a rental, it seems like a lot less hassle at this point.

But I do appreciate all the information I have received on this. It has been very helpful.

  3. Hey, I just booked the 10 Day Hawaii cruise on Radiance of the Seas, May 2018. This will be our first cruise to Hawaii. Very excited. :)

You should love it and have a great time. Just did the Hawaii cruise in April this year, that was also my first time to Hawaii. We had a great time. If you have overnight in Maui do the Luau. It is so worth the money. Book early, you can book a year out. If you get there when they open they have the pig roast ceremony. Its beautiful with the ocean as your backdrop.

    Enjoy.

  4. My husband and I are planning to book a cruise, which leaves from Canada and ends in the United states. So my question, he needs a mobility scooter, if we bring ours from home does the airlines allow you to put these in cargo? If not, if we rent one in Canada and the ship does not return to that port, we can not return it.

Anyone that uses a mobility scooter that can answer this question, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    :)

  5. If your flying into Orlando airport, and heading straight to Port Canaveral area for your hotel, we have used Happy Limo a few times in the past. Have a great service with them. Always friendly and on time. Picked us up at Orlando airport with a sign with our name on it. Just great service. Would use them again in a heartbeat.

    Have a great cruise.

  6. Yes he is the same captain as the Hawaii cruise.

Marie has many pictures of the two of us on her phone. I should pull a few over here.

Great picture of the both of you.

I so want to do Alaska, but not ready for a "cold" cruise at this time.

Enjoying your pictures, thanks for sharing.

It was fun seeing the few pictures of the ship, brought back great memories from the Hawaiian cruise. :)

  9. Hi Bill,

I know this is late, but I just found the thread that you did. Thanks for posting the live report and pictures. It brought back such fun memories.

We ( my family and I ) had such a great time. And since my husband was unable to make this trip, with all my talking about this trip we are planning to go back, there is still a lot in Hawaii I would love to see. Anyway, thanks again for posting this and all the pictures....by the way, the picture in the Centrum with the Captain before the cake decorating. You caught me and my sister in the picture.

Missing Hawaii and the ship...:( but at least I will be going back soon.

    Denise:)
