  1. Thank you for your comments and advice. In case anyone else is looking for guidance I can say that although we all wore pants or skirts and shirts with sleeves we were definitely in the minority. It was a heat wave in Barcelona and I would say over half the people did not have sleeves on their shirts or shoulders covered and I saw a lot of knees. :o I was given a lot of grief by my family, but we were respectful. I did not see anyone turned away for improper dress and there were some doozies. I am happy that we were able to visit.

  2. We just got off the Freedom this past Sunday in Barcelona. They starting making announcements at 6:15 that the ship was cleared and people doing self assist could leave. We slowly got up and went to the dining room for breakfast and we were still off the ship by 7:45. We did not wait for our bags long and were in a taxi by 8:30 and at the airport by 8:45. The taxi line was long, but moved quickly. The line at the airport took over an hour to get our luggage tags, and there were only 4 reps for the customer assistance line. If we used the machine to get our luggage tags we would have been quicker, but we were too early to check in for our 2:30 flight. If you are ready to debark at 6:15 and do self assist you will have no trouble making that flight. We wished that we had an earlier flight. They were really good in the line for American Airlines about moving people ahead who had earlier flights. The security line moved quickly once we had checked our bags and Passport Control was opened by flight so no one could actually get to the assigned gate, which was at the end of the terminal, until they posted your flight on a sign in front of Passport Control which was about 20 minutes before the boarding time on our boarding passes.

    Enjoy your cruise.

  3. We are visiting the Sagrada Familia and wanted to know if we will be allowed entry to most of the cathedral if we are in shorts and t-shirts or do we need to wear pants and long sleeves? Their websites mentions certain areas that we can not enter if we are not properly dressed, but the rest of the family is fighting me on wearing pants. I just want to make sure that we can see most of it if we are in shorts. Thanks in advance for your help.

  4. I just received an email that our Jewel cruise for June 11, 2017 has been chartered and they want us to move to Rhapsody later in later in the month which doesn't work for us. I am really wishing that we had no:t cancelled our Celebrity cruise to switch to the Jewel.:(

  5. Victor was easy to contact via his website and always emailed me back promptly when I had any questions. We got off the ship and it was easy to find his booth at the pier based on the email that he sent the prior week. Vision of the Seas docks at a different pier and there was no walk up a hill. They have a booth to the right after you walk away from the ship. I believe there was a sign that said excursions and as soon as we turned right his was the first booth. As soon as we checked in we were handed over to William our guide for the day. We had booked the group excursion, but ended up in a van alone which was an unexpected bonus. He drove us directly to the zipline and monkey area. We were joined at the ziplines by another family of four, but it was so nice to only have 8 of us doing the ziplines at one time. The guys who worked there were great and we really had a good time. It was much better than the zipline excursions that we have done with the cruiselines where there are 50-100 people on the excursion. We were able to buy all of our pictures on a disc for $20. We then were taken on a tour of the animals and we got to feed and hold various monkeys and birds. William then took us to the beach where my daughter and I parasailed. William arranged our 4 chairs and two umbrellas with a vendor. I think it was $10 for the two umbrellas, but the chairs were included with the admission fee that was included with our tour. The parasailing was fun. The bar was close, but very busy and service was slow. The beach was a bit crowded with a lot of vendors asking us to buy various things. We had told William we would be ready to leave at 3 and a soon as we walked up the stairs he was there to take us back to the van. We got back to the ship in plenty of time and we had a great day. We would definitely do this or another of Bodden's excursions again.
