KW needs to be an overnight stop anyway ...

Overnight or late night departure would be nice but the locals won't allow a ship to block views of the sunset. Cruise visitors miss the daily sunset party. We've found that a few days in Key West makes a great post-cruise vacation extension.

  2. We tried Windstar for the first time last spring (Star Pride out of San Juan) and were lucky enough to get 7 of 14 days onboard before the shutdown.  We're Elite on Princess but really enjoyed the differences on Windstar. I agree with everything mentioned above - you'll find everything you really need without the extra stuff you don't. Note there's no casino on Windstar.  We were booked on the Breeze for this coming March, but it's been cancelled.  We're holding off for now, but will rebook when everything settles. We haven't given up on Princess, we're booked on the Sky Princess for December 2021.

  3. Based on my experience on the Caribbean Princess in 2019, it works.  Might depend on your phone model and carrier plan.  A few things to note: make sure your phone stays in Airplane Mode but with WiFi enabled.  And you'll probably want an unlimited internet plan from Princess as your phone will be connected even if you're not on a call.

  4. Windstar is stretching its 3 motor yachts.  Passenger count will go from 212 to 315.  While the ship is "open" they're replacing the engines with more efficient models.  Each ship will be out of service for a several months for this "surgery."  Fincantieri (builder of many Princess ships) is doing the work.

Article referenced here has a video and information about other ships that have been stretched.

(39 days until this Princess cruiser's first Windstar cruise)
