9 hours ago, the more ports the better said:
It is your only option. All airports in FP connect thru Papeete. International flights all go in and out of Papeete. Unless you are sailing through Fiji or into Hawaii or SA, you fly to/from Papeete.
We typically stay on Bora Bora after the cruise and fly to Papeete a few hours before our international flight. Air Tahiti inter island is really reliable. It’s a nice mix of cruise and land and makes the late flights much easier.
Once when we stayed on Bora Bora precruise as opposed to post, we disembarked Marina and rented a car and circled the island while waiting for our flight. It is beautiful once you get out of Papeete. We went to the cultural museum, drove to the top of Tahiti Iti to the lookout, swam in waterfalls and hikes and swam at Teahupoo. We booked a cheap hotel room at Hotel Sarah Nui, which we split with another couple from Marina, to shower and change after driving all day, then we had dinner at the food trucks at the port, then headed to the airport for our night flight. It worked out really well.
cruises start in Hawaii end in Papeete or go Papeete to Hawaii with everyone having questions about day hotel rates etc wondering if one route would be easy than other?

So in everyones opinion that's been in and out of Tahiti (Papeete) to you feel its best to fly into Tahiti for the start of cruise or fly out of Tahiti at the end of your cruise in Tahiti? Thanks

We never used the loyalty shipboard credit for excursions so we will continue to use ours for cooking classes, nice bottle of wine with dinner and a few special gifts for family members, Obviously this is a personal choice and, if you only used the loyalty credit for excursions, then your options are more limited. I would look at using the loyalty OBC to book a special excursion that you would not normally have purchased due to cost.
You are right it is a personal choice, but after 50plus cruises I find sometimes i don't need shore excursions to frequent visited ports. Just nice to get away. That's why having hard time paying for things we don't use, wish they would have told me I wasn't profitable? I would have left along time ago?

We have an automatic $250.00 OBC because we are Silver. With SM it becomes useless.
Exactly the way we feel.. With SM the Shipboard Credit from Loyalty Club useless. With SM yes you pay more and basically get a shore excursion credit? Yes get a wifi and drink package, we don't drink so no gain for us previous wifi was just fine don't go on vacation for internet Service? Yes sure we can wonder around shops, ships services and spend money? (Not the best way to spend money) So if you were getting $250.00 $400.00 $500.00 What are you going to do with you it? Is it what it once was?

OCAPP is what shows up on one’s Oceania invoice . Travel Agents have united in alliances called Consortiums.
Oceania, on a rotating bases for specific cruises, offers the different Consortiums PPG for their customers as additional enticement for booking cruises.
Your TA may say “ this cruise comes with Consortium X PPG”. In actuality, it’s not from the Consortium, but merely a pass through from Oceania. Therefore, OCAPP is pass through PPG from Oceania.
What happens when one receives both OCAPP and PPG as a benefit of their Oceania Club status? Ah! That is a different story.
Thanks for explaining that to me, makes sense now appreciate it.

Trying to get a verification, but just heard that those of us with O Club PPG benefits will no longer be eligible to additionally receive OCAPP PPG benefits. No more OBC in lieu of. Awaiting details.
What exactly is OCAPP and how much of what where talking about fracture and/or hear say? Thanks

We decided to cancel our cruise as this pandemic was developing. So I called on 3/2/20, seven days before the final payment date. I was told no problem, you are due a full refund due to the time of the request, less the $200.00 nonrefundable deposit.
Well, I got back 50% of the money in two weeks, then nothing. So I called and asked, was told there was an issue with how the refund was processed, so got 10% more a week later. Then I called back, was told its tied up in Choice Air, you must email the supervisors to get it released. Did so, got email back saying they had done their part, week go by, nothing, then another week. I sent another email, got a reply back saying they have done their part.So two weeks later, I called in on Captain Club line, get put on hold by Lincoln and call is dropped after 20 minutes on hold. Call back and get Jasmine who says she will research it. after 15 minutes on hold, I am told the full deposit has been determined to be Nonrefundable. Not the $200 I was told at booking, rather the full $900, but not to worry, they would give me a $700 future cruise credit.
And then there are $400 in cancellation fees for the airline fares. No one has ever said a word about fees associated with the cancellation of the airfare. Also, there are no flights actually flying into Dublin at this point, so what is going on?
If I had waiting to cancel, I hear I would have gotten a 100% refund or could get a 120% future cruise credit. At this point, I doubt I will ever set foot on a cruise ship again. I am so upset at the whole system. I have been told so may different stories by different people, it is sickening (mentally).
I was planning to retire in December and we were planning several cruises with Celebrity in 2021, but now after this disaster it will be land vacations. Someone else can get my travel money. Celebrity has taken the last dollar from me they will ever get. I was one cruise away from Elite level in Captains Club with Celebrity.
Honestly at this point, I don't think I would care if the cruise line went bankrupt.
I know exactly how you feel, a long time cruiser and elite plus with celebrity I planned on cruising a lot my self. Things have really changed, I to have cancelled several cruises, and no i didn't get my money returned either. Makes me really sad, but my money will go some where else to, I'm sure a lot of others feel the same way.

Just spent 30 days on Eclipse and it suited us fine. I really hate to think of that beautiful library being torn out. Our cabin was very near a balcony that overlooked the library and every time we looked down at the library, it was full of people enjoying the ambience.

WE were on the Edge this spring and just got off the Summit. Comparing the Edge to the Summit if you were to ask me it is not
worth the extra price. Absolutely not after the Summit has been goon though its refit its very nice, yes I know the Edge is nice but not worth the price their asking in my opinion.

airfare prices are so high this year it will be the first time in 13 years we didn't cruise in January, February or March
I won't pay more for airfare than the cruise
We have always went to the Caribbean not this year

You miss interpreted my response to jagoffee. I was agreeing with jagoffe concerning ISABELLA post. I am one of the few that have posted on this thread that like the entertainment that was on our 3 April 2016 Eclipse Cruise. So I'm not part of the so called entertainment haters on this thread. We've never found the music anywhere on our sailing to be too loud.
IM sorry didn't really mean to make a statement about your post, was just giving my thoughts Thanks

Right on!
After 30 plus cruises with celebrity with decided to try Princes Cruises to are surprise we had a great time. On the note of entertainment we were blown away with the guilty of shows and acts though out the ship a big plus. Like a lot of you so tired of the loud music and new shows that make no sense at all. Not that we won't sail Celebrity again but we will certainly be looking around.
