  1. My point is transparency. We should not have to contact Celebrity when booking through the website to get the refundable pricing. It should be a selectable option! I know several cruisers who have not noticed the NRD on Royal Caribbean, and booked without recourse. Oh, and by the way, I am schooled, with six months of day and evening training, at a large Florida travel school, and a 105% GPA. I don't care who you book through, transparency is the only way to conduct business!

  2. We are long time cruisers with 52 sailings under our belt. We love sailing Celebrity, but since they now seem to be following the pricing strategy of their parent company RCL with N.e.R.D pricing we most likely will be limiting ourselves to our LAST 3 previously booked Celebrity cruises! I don't like jumping through hoops to book my cruises. Include refundable pricing on your website like you used to!

Let's not call what they did as a "revolution".  Updating is a better description.

Have to agree. If anything it is a partial update. To call it a revolution is unsubstantiated. Nothing but hyped up advertising. Yes, some decor has changed, but the only revolution that has taken place is increased pricing across the board. Think about it!

  4. I have been having the same problem. Spent more than 2 hours, over the course of two attempts to get my wives name on our existing reservation. Hasn't happened yet! Looks like I could be sailing with TBD in my cabin! I have never experienced this type of problem. Somebody needs to look at the true statistics regarding customer service. THEY NEED TO STOP TOOTING THEIR OWN HORN!

  5. After having been censored for my previous comments by CC hosts, I still find the exterior of the Edge to be less than attractive (bow). It's exterior seems to be an attempt to be all inclusive, instead of the beauty once seen on earlier ships in the Celebrity/ RCCL fold. The MC adds nothing to its exterior nor does the bow, and both are somewhat of an eyesore!

I agree with many that the interior is modern simplistic beauty, but I find the Plaza Chandelier to be distracting, and unbecoming. Features similar to this are common on Carnival ships, and tend to be found on newer RCL ships as well, attempting to attract younger cruisers The powers that be seem to forget those who helped them rise to the top.... shame on you!

Will this stop me from cruising with Celebrity, absolutely not, but remember, if the experienced cruisers don't pass what is attractive to us to younger cruisers, you might not find them to be driven to Celebrity Cruise Line at all. Not all younger men and women yearn for flashing lights or the latest gimmicks. Think about it!

    IMHO

  6. My wife Kat and I sailed our 51st cruise,(1st on Millennium) 5/10/18-5/18/18, and found the ship to be in surprisingly good shape for its age. The crew worked their tails off, everybody was friendly, and service was excellent. Absolutely no complaints from us.

We did not do any pre/post cruise land tours so cannot speak of them, but we did enjoy every port call tour (6) that we booked through Celebrity.

We would do it all again in a heartbeat!

  7. So far, nothing Edge'y enough to cause me to make an early booking, or jump ship from the Solstice class.

Neither a giant side mounted elevator nor an infinite balcony view will change that. It seems the hierarchy at RCCL would like to transition Celebrity ships the way they did the ships of Royal Caribbean!

  8. My wife and I have just returned from the Dec 9th Equinox sailing, and had a fantastic time!

This was our 49th cruise, many on Celebrity ships. Although some things have changed over the years, we still enjoy the atmosphere and total sincerity of the crew to provide the best vacation ever.

Except for one meal, which was immediately corrected, our experience in the dining room was excellent. Entertainment was some of the best we have seen, accommodations were comfortable, and staff was very friendly.

We understand that opinions vary, but we have also found that responses are usually reciprocal, and if you are respectful, and retain an open mind, the crew that works to provide an excellent experience will not disappoint!

  9. I'm sorry if this is a silly question but looking at all the review pictures from Allure and Oasis I notice it is relatively dark at night in Central Park. It got me wondering about how safe it is. I realize it is nothing like the real central park in NY but has anyone ever not felt safe walking through at night?

Our cabin is on deck 8 so if for some reason my husband wants to stay somewhere and I want to head back to our room, will it be safe?

    Hi readytolose,

Wife and I born and raised in Neenah, lived most of our adult lives in Menasha, currently live in SW Florida, and have traveled the world.

We have traveled on Oasis of The Seas and both feel safer there than any night on College Ave.!
