Twice, very nice location, free snacks and drinks, reasonable price.

Thank you.  My cruise is not till June 2024 but in the planning stages.  I have never been to Europe and I’m a little overwhelmed.  We are planning 3 nights in Barcelona before the cruise.

  2. Got back last night. We did end up doing the excursion with Spencer. We had signed up for the full day Sugar Beach Break but asked to switch to the island and beach tour combo instead while on the boat because it sounded so good! They let us do this with no problem. We were a little hesitant to go with a private tour company at first but Spencer’s tour was absolutely amazing! He and the crew were excellent and had us back in plenty of time. The power boat was a fun way to go. We had a blast and it was the best day of our cruise!! The volcanic mud baths and waterfall were fantastic, the beach surrounded by the pitons was picturesque and the food they served was local and excellent. They did a great job narrating and telling us all about the sights along the way. Can’t say enough good things about this tour and the crew and highly recommend them. Thanks for your suggestions, glad we took your advice!

I will be doing this on our cruise in March. Right now we are just booked for the beach but I know we can add the mud baths. How strenuous was it to get to the mud baths and waterfall? How much time did you have when you got back to the port? I would like to do a little shopping before we get back on the ship.

    Thanks!!

  3. I have been on a cruise already where there was a service dog for someone in a wheelchair. The dog behaved better than some people. I know someone that trains service dogs. They said even a comfort/companion dog must undergo training. She said the first step to a fake is when the dog is carried. The rule is “all four on the floor” meaning the dog always has all four feet on the floor. They don’t bark, they don’t jump, they don’t steal food, they don’t nip or bite at people or other pets. I agree it is way out of control. I think all dogs should have to have certificates of training and approved through ADA. That will stop all the fakes. I’m not an animal hater, I have a lab and 2 cats but they don’t belong on a cruise ship unless they are a true service dog!!

  5. I have purchased the Deluxe package. Since the tip is included in the price, it is NOT standard practice to tip in cash when ordering a drink correct?

No you don’t have to tip for each drink. I usually find a favorite bartender and give a cash tip at the end of the cruise above what they get from the drink package. But......sometimes if you give a dollar here and there you may get special service too.

  6. On Anthem now but dining in Coastal Kitchen every night for dinner. The food and service have been excellent there. If anybody has any questions about CK (dinners only) just ask. Going to Wonderland tonight. Jamie's later this week. We have had a hard time finding seats in the Windjammer on this cruise. It is a very common complaint on ship. We have simply shifted breakfasts or lunches to the 270 Cafe or Solarium Bistro - both excellent.

I would love to see the Wonderland menu!!! I am trying Wonderland on my cruise in February!!! Thanks

  7. Did the BOGO last week on Liberty. To answer some of the above questions: it was available to anyone not just diamond plus, we picked a time and they picked the restaurant for the first night, when we got on board we changed the restaurant and the time to eat with friends on-board but our reservations were still first and second night. We did NOT pay any up charge for eating at chops. We were also allowed to use our drink package in the specialty restaurants (we were not allowed to do this a year ago on Navigator in Sabor). Both nights there were plenty of available reservations (Chops was almost empty the first night @ 7:30).

A table for four in Chops we also had an extra appetizer, 2 extra entrees, and an extra dessert and no additional charges.

Thank you so much for your answer. I was confused also. After reading some posts I thought you are not getting a deal if you have to pay the difference. Two different restaurants for 30.00 is a steal!!!

  8. So glad the ship is moving again! Prayers for everyone on the ship! I can't even imagine what everyone went through! Everyone on dry land will be watching this post for updates.

Yesterday was our 1 year mark to our cruise on the Anthem and I will say it is a bit scary thinking that we could run into something like this.

  9. Is Moderno complimentary for breakfast and lunch?

You did the obstacle course? I would love to try it. I saw that the maximum weight is 300 lbs. Although I am no way near 300 lbs I am a chunky monkey and it worries me about walking on a small beam!! I would love to try it though! Would love to hear more about it.

We are a group of 4, all sharing the same cabin. I know there are showers in the spa/gym area. Do you know if there is a fee for showering there? It would be so much nicer if 1 or 2 of us could take our showers there. I can't imagine for women trying to get ready for dinner in 1 bathroom!!!

  10. I just came across your review and I'm loving it!! I flash read as much as I could, so I hope I don't ask questions that you already covered. I'm going on the Breakaway in June 2016. This will be my 2nd Norwegian cruise, first one was back in 1994. I have been on many cruises between these two, just not Norwegian. I loved my first cruise and that started me with my obsession to sail!!! The thing I noticed most with Norwegian is there a lot of things that are extra charges. That's fine but I guess it will take a little time to find out whats free and what's not.

I am cruising with my sister and 2 girlfriends. We have a larger balcony on deck 9. I can't imagine getting ready for dinner with only one bathroom, my question is.....can you shower at the gym or spa? And is it free or a charge?

The snorkel park, last time I was there it was 5.00 to get in. I don't need a chair or an umbrella and I have my own snorkel gear. Do you know how much it costs now?

Can't wait to see the rest of your pictures!! Last year in Bermuda we went to Warwick Long Bay and we liked it better than Horseshoe Bay, not looking forward to the crowds on the bus though. I love St. George and I am looking forward to your pictures.

  11. I was in Bermuda this past October and did a tour with Byway Tours. Her name is Heidi. She has a van that holds 8 people. Don't worry if you don't have 8 people, she will fill the van. The tour is about 5 to 6 hours and includes lunch. Cost is 100.00. She is awesome. She picked us up at the Dockyard, we stopped at Long Bay Beach then the lighthouse. She made a stop at Flatt's village and then on to St. George. The whole way she would tell us history of Bermuda and stories. In St. George we walked around and she went to pick up lunch, hamburgers or fish sandwiches. The fish sandwich was the BEST sandwich I have ever eaten. On the way back we also made a stop at the Swizzle Inn for a pitcher of Rum Swizzles!!!! She was definitely worth every penny!!!
