  1. Actually, I have been trying pretty much every day since making the booking on December 11, 2023. I’m assuming Celebrity does not require full payment to be made in order to make specialty dining reservations? Is it possible since it’s a holiday sailing they haven’t yet opened the dining reservation system? I always like to book everything as far in advance as possible.

  2. I’m booked on the December 22, 2024 sailing on Celebrity Ascent. I’ve tried to book specialty dining reservations, but they’re not available to book either on the Celebrity website or app. Is this unusual? Others have posted they booked dining reservations for their November sailing three months ago! The only things available to book for my sailing are shore excursions, wifi and drink packages. Any insight would be most helpful!

  3. We have purchased the VIP all-inclusive day pass at Bamboo Beach Club directly through Bamboo Beach Club, which does not include ground transportation. Can anyone suggest the best way for our family of four to travel from the cruise pier in Ocho Rios to and from the Bamboo Beach Club? Are taxis readily available at the cruise pier? Approx. cost? Thank you everyone for your help! Happy cruising!

  4. I'm sailing on the HOS departing July 29. I am able to make dining reservations, but NOT shows. Did I miss the "window" to book shows or has RCCL not opened them up yet? I'm tyring to coordinate dining with shows. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHEN THE SHOWS ARE OFFERED ON THE WESTERN CARIBBEAN ITINERARY??? That would be sooooo helpful!!! Thanks everyone!:)

  5. My family and I have been on the Oasis twice and Allure once. We are considering the Harmony for our February 2018 vacation. I've read a lot of "mixed" reviews on the Harmony, so I'm wondering...is the experience better, worse or the same as Oasis/Allure? My kids are excited about the water slides and Abyss, but if the food & service quality won't be what we've experienced on prior cruises, then maybe it's not worth it? I would love to hear from those who have sailed on Harmony AND another Oasis-class ship. Thank you!

  6. I will be sailing on the Silhouette December 26. I have made two reservations at specialty restaurants...Lawn Club Grill and Qsine...both for dinner. I'm travelling with my wonderful wife, 13 yr old son and 10 yr old daughter. Can anyone please tell me the dress code for each? We are trying not to over pack, as it is only a four-night sailing. I appreciate your help!

  7. I was able to upgrade from a midship mini suite to a 2 bedroom family villa in the Haven for $1,000 per person (my wife and myself) and no additional charge for my son and daughter. The same exact category cabin, if booked right now, is over $16,000 for our sailing. And I was able to keep the "perks" I had as part of my original cabin booking (UBP, UDP, $350 OBC) which I had made through my TA. Needless to say, we're thrilled! The very best part of all...we will be celebrating our son's 13th birthday and our 15 year wedding anniversary on this cruise! :-)

  8. My wife, 2 children and I will be on the August 6 sailing on Escape. We are booked in a 2 bedroom family villa in the Haven. (I took advantage of an incredible offer from the upsell department a week ago...SWEET!) For those who have sailed in the Haven before, can you tell me what "requests" or "services" our butler will handle for us? For example, can we request certain daily snacks for the kids? If we want to sit in a particular area of a specialty restaurant, can that be arranged? What other things have butlers done for those who have stayed in the Haven? I really appreciate any information you can provide. Thanks!

  9. I have been reading a lot of reviews which say the ropes course on the Escape is often closed during sailings and NCL is having chronic problems with the (3) zip lines. I'll be sailing August 6 with my wife and two children (ages 13 and 9) and the ropes course was a major draw for us when deciding on a ship to vacation on. For those who have experienced closures of the ropes course or have been on the Escape recently, your input is would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks everyone and happy sailing!

  10. I am considering a Cat. H6 on the Escape for an 8 night Caribbean sailing in August. I will be traveling with my wife, 13 yr. old son and 9 yr. old daughter. Can someone with experience in this cabin please tell me what type of sleeping arrangements there are for the 3rd and 4th person? Is there only a sofa bed or a sofa bed AND pull down? It would be difficult for my two children to share a sofa bed. I really appreciate your help!

  11. I am due to sail on the Anthem of the Seas this Saturday (February 13). My question is this....IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO SWITCH MY RESERVATION TO THE OASIS OF THE SEAS, DEPARTING THE SAME DAY (FEBRUARY 13)??? I already checked on RCCL website and there are still cabins available to book. Anyone who knows "if" this is possible, please let me know ASAP? THANKS EVERYONE!!!

  12. Soooo excited! 13 days until my Anthem sailing! I have some questions I'm hoping ex-Anthem sailors can answer:

    1. I was never able to reserve IFly on Cruise Planner. Did anyone make reservations once on board?

    2. I have a reservation for North Star already via Cruise Planner. Will we be limited to doing North Star just once or can we do standby at other times as well?

    3. Do reservation times open up at specialty restaurants during the cruise? I was able to make reservations at three of them already, but right now every day is booked solid on Cruise Planner.

    4. Lastly, for those who have been on Anthem recently, have you experienced an improvement in the food quality? Seems like the reviews got off to a "mixed" start, but I have been reading more and more positive food reviews. Hoping for your input!

Thanks cruisers! I'm hoping to learn a lot from all of you! Happy sailing!

  13. My wife and I, along with our two children (11 yr. old son & 8 yr. old daughter) will be sailing on the Solstice July 31. This will be our first cruise on Celebrity and first in Alaska. I would really love to hear previous families' experiences on the Solstice, with main focus on the children. Thank you everyone and happy sailing!:)

  14. I just booked the Solstice for July 31 to Alaska. I'm traveling with my wife, 11 yr old son, and 8 yr old daughter. This will be our first time to Alaska. All of our other many, many cruises have been to the warm beautiful Caribbean. :)

I could really use everyone's help in knowing what to pack as far as clothing??? I know the weather in unpredictable in Alaska, but I would rather be prepared than to be cold & wet (especially our two kids!). I really appreciate any input from those with Alaskan cruise experience. Thanks!!!

  15. I'll be sailing on the Breeze leaving December 28 with my wife and two children. I recently read that the finishing touches were just completed on Camp Ocean. I'm wondering if anyone has already seen it or has had their children experience it already? If not on the Breeze, possibly a different Carnival ship? I'm just wondering how it is compared to Camp Carnival? Thanks everyone!

  16. My family consists of my wonderful wife, 11 yr. old son, 8 yr. old daughter, and me. We are taking a cruise right after Christmas (December 27) to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. I just put an ocean view cabin on hold and have until tomorrow to pay in full. We have sailed on NCL, Carnival, and RCCL as a family. This would be our first family cruise on Celebrity. FOR THOSE WHO HAVE SAILED WITH KIDS ON THE REFLECTION OR OTHER SOLSTICE CLASS SHIP, PLEASE SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES WITH ME. I'm figuring there will be more families on this sailing due to the sailing date of December 27? Thanks for your input!

  17. I'm about to book the Getaway for December 27 but very unsure of which cabin to choose. My TA has given me a GREAT price on a Cat. BB balcony cabin. I have been offered a few different cabins, all on Deck 10. Two of the cabins appear to be on an angle and I read they offer a slightly larger balcony? They are #10842 and #10242. The other cabin I was offered is #10862. To those of you who have already been on either the Getaway or Breakaway and can offer your suggestions on which cabin to choose, I would soooooo greatly appreciate it! Lastly, is Deck 10 a good deck to be on? THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP!!!

  18. I'm debating between the Breakaway or Regal Princess for a family cruise leaving December 28, 2014. My family consists of my wife, 11 yr. old son, and 8 yr. old daughter. We have sailed on RCCL, Carnival, and NCL and have enjoyed them all! We were on the Epic during its inaugural season and enjoyed it a lot. For those of you who have already sailed on the Breakaway, would you recommend this ship over the brand new Regal Princess for our New Years Cruise this December??? Thanks for your feedback! :)

  19. I'm trying to decide which cabin would be best for my family of four this December 28 on the Regal Princess??? My only experience with Princess was on the Ruby, Penthouse Suite, but with only my wife and myself. This time it will be with our two children, 11 yr. old son and 8 yr. old daughter. What do you suggest as far as BALCONY cabins? They list standard or deluxe balcony? Suggestions please!!! Thanks!
