  1. Awesome! We are sailing to Key West, Freeport and Nassau, and I think they are all on EST. So that helps alot with me booking my excursions :)

You may spread have an answer, but ship time almost always changes to the local time. Pretty sure that they changed in Nassau on this Journeys cruise. I haven't read to the end yet, so if this info has already been passed along, sorry for the duplication.

  2. Mine is a bit over the top - full door sized banner a friend and I made together. Attached easily to the door with stick tack that you can buy at Wally World. Take down was a breeze and just threw the small bit of adhesive away when done. We were on a great cruise that had an incredible roll call for the Pride repositioning through the Panama Canal. Door decorating contest was just one of the many great things we did.

    Have a great cruise!

  3. No luck with my scanner for doing the Capers.... I may have to take them to work and scan them there. Having these was to my advantage - I got Carnival to add this cruise so that made me Platinum on our last one!

We paid cash for everything "extra", and I do remember that you could go and board the ship for the Bon Voyage Party and you had to leave before sailing...... we lived in SoCal at the time and it was a regular thing to go to the dock, party for a while and then watch her sail away without us.

  4. Please can someone post photos of the times on this ship from back in the day, thanks. Love seeing the old photos.

I will dig out my box and see if my scanner will cooperate with me so I can post them here. This was my first cruise with a friend of mine and it cost about the same as what cruises cost today!

  5. OP...

    Ignore all the grumpies!

Here are some photos of not just door "signs" but actual decorations. I found these photos on various threads using the search feature. Whether you make a simple sign or go all out with decorations, use your imagination and have fun with it,

Just started to read this thread because I too like to decorate my door! Matter of fact, mine is the first one in the links.:D

Decorating the door is a personal decision and as I can tell from some of the posts to the question there are those that do not care for it. But those folks must also recognize there are those that do. My "decoration" was a compilation of stock shots from the internet and my own photos that a dear friend and I worked on. When we were done, he printed it on banner material for me. As far as hanging it on doors - no magnets or tape was necessary, just some sticky tac that can be found at carft stores and the like. The clean up is effortless. You just pick the bits of the stuff off the door and you are done.

So if you wish to decorate, do so... just clean up before you leave the ship and have a great cruise!

  6. We will be going on the Dream in Sept 24th. Can anyone tell me if the steakhouse cost $30 is the only cost someone told me that they charge for all the extras. Also Is the Steakhouse good I heard it was but would like to hear from someone that has actually been. I have alot of meal questions and drink question.

Steakhouse is great - worth the thirty dollars. Have heard that the $30 includes tip but that you can tip additionally if you wish.

Is water available or do you have to buy it -- drink cards or passes are they available ( non achohlic drinks only )

You can get water from the tap in your room or from the diensers on the Lido deck.

At the meals someone also told me that if you did not like what was on menu that you could ask for something else ex: if you wanted lobster every night could you get it?

You can order anything you wish off the menu.... sadly, you can't get lobster every night!

    Sorry for all the questions?

    Welcome to Cruise Critic!

Thanks for any help that you can give

Does anyone know which day of the week they have the "Behind the Fun" tour during the Western Caribbean itinerary?

Behind the fun tours are the last sea day - they have two tours only - so get yourself signed up as soon as you get on board.

  7. This is great! Who knew you could find your favorite recipes from cruises.

I went on a Carnival Cruise to the Caribbean once and had the most fantastic marinated pork tenderloin with coconut rice. It might take me a while, but I'm determined to find the recipe.

If anyone out there knows it, let me know :)

There is a recipe for jerked pork loin in my cookbook......
