  1. Thank you!

We just got our travel documents TODAY!!

    Dana

I just wanted to stop in and say hello. I haven't been on in a few months. Wife & I purchased our first new home we closed last month on the 21st and moved in on the 26th. Been very busy getting stuff situated before we go on our cruise in 15 days :D

Dana, Congrats! You will enjoy the Majesty. We were on it for my big 30 a few years ago. Since then it was refurbished so I'm sure it is better now then it was when we sailed. Have fun!

    Happy Sailings to all!

  2. It's been way too long...My wife & I booked our next cruise on Sunday 9 nights on the Caribbean Princess out of NY. We're Jersey girls here so that is why we booked out of NY no flight hassle :) 4 of our close friends are joining us (gay guys)...Anyone here want to join us.

It's for next year (Memorial Day Week) May 24th-June 2nd way to kick off our summer :D

We were on the Caribbean Princess last year in May and we loved her. She is going into drydock and getting a few enhancements which is nice to hear.

    Take care,

  3. Hi everyone, I haven't posted for a while, but have looked in from time to time. We are looking for a warm weather cruise with more sea days. Destination doesn't really matter, just days at sea.

    Winnie

    (currently in Bedford, MA)

I would recommend Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas 9 night cruise out of Bayonne NJ. My wife and I did that one for our honeymoon in March and we had 5 sea days and 4 days at ports. It was a great cruise the ship is beautiful, staff was friendly, great entertainment lots to do and food was good. I also recommend you make reservations for Portofino wow it was so worth the $20pp fee.

I see your in MA so not too far from NJ :D

Good luck in finding your next cruise ;)

  4. Hi Jess!

Thanks for the reply and congrats on your union! This trip was originally planned as our honeymoon, but due to family issues, we postponed our ceremony until October, 2008. The cruise was already paid for, so we decided to take the cruise now and we'll do another one before the end of the year as our honeymoon (2 cruises in 1 year...yay)!!

I'll definitely let you know how this one goes. We are looking to go on other cruiselines too! My partner is a travel agent and is always looking for ways for us to "see the world"! So maybe one day we'll end up on the same ship!

    Nice to "meet" you!

    Angel :)

    Hi Angel,

Nice to meet you too. It will be cool to sail on the same ship in the near future. I like meeting new people :) Our friends 2 other couples gay guys they had joined us on our honeymoon. We actually had planned the cruise first with them back in Sept. and in Oct. we decided let's make it our honeymoon LOL It was a lot of wedding planning to do in only 5 months but we did it! It all went by so fast. It was like a dream... We couldn't have ask for a more beautiful day.

We are planning to go on a Princess cruise for next year. It was our friends first cruise on Royal now they want to experience another cruise line.

Its great that your partner is a travel agent I'm sure you will make it all around the world. ;)

    Talk to you soon.

  5. Hi there!

My partner & I are relatively new to CC and we had no idea that this thread even existed...we were wondering where the female "family" was! We are going on our first cruise together in a couple weeks and we can't wait.

    Happy cruisin...!

Yes we are here...it's just that the thread was buried since no one had come in and posted for awhile so I had to bump it up :p to see where all the ladies went.

You will enjoy cruising they get you hooked. I've been on 4 and I'm already planning the one for next year as we speak :D

My wife and I live in Jersey we just got married (civil union) in March. Our last cruise was for our honeymoon/anniversary (7years) together ;)

Let me know how your Carnival cruise goes. I have yet to sail with them. Just been on (2) Princess & (2) Royal Caribbean.

    Take care!

  6. Where did everyone go??? How was everyones weekend? My partner and I went out to celebrate our bachelorette party with a group of friends (about 16 of us) we went to a gay club in the city. We had a blast!!! It was our last single weekend out single meaning un-married lol we haven't been single in 7 years :D We have 6 more days to the big day I am getting very nervous but also very excited my mom, grandma, sister & nephew are flying in from Puerto Rico Wednesday so very excited to see them :D

Hope everyone had a good one. Wishing you all a great week!

  7. Congrats Jess on upcoming marriage!!!!!!

I have a question, and sorry if it has been asked/answered before but I can't find it. My partner just got wind that she is getting a SUBSTANTIAL raise, and we were considering maybe next year taking a Rosie cruise. We are booked with Carnival for this year, our first cruise ever. We have a teenage son, and think we would enjoy being with all the othe same sex families. Has anyone taken one of these cruises? I know they are VERY EXPENSIVE compared to Carnival, etc but would it be worth the extra expense for the freedom???

    Thank you! :D

Sorry I can't answer your question as I have only cruised the regular lines. I don't think I would ever spend the extra because I like to get the most out of my bucks :o And also because our bestfriends are gay guys so an all lesbian cruise wouldn't work since most of our cruisin we do it together with them. But hey if you have the extra bucks why not LOL :p

  8. ewok: You can take Bonine (Meclizine Hydrochloride) and hang upside down and round and round and not get sick. I know cause I use it when going to ammusement parks!

For me there is minimal side effects and have used it during huricains. Also, never had a problem saying put the beds together. On our first cruise the women doing the room would snicker, but that was all.

stormloca777: where did you get married? We did the domestic partership in NY, then did civil union in Vermont, finally getting married in Canada. But we were smart. So as to not forget any aniversary or having too many, we just did it all the same day (different years as each became available). Ha. Take that, memory problems.

22 days till our next cruise - So much to do. Honey, I can't wait!!

I'm getting married in 11-10days... We're from NJ we are doing a Civil Union. Can't wait for the honeymoon on that ship yay!!! :D

Hope you all went to the 106.7 lite fm website and voted for my nephew ;) Christopher G red polo on :D

  11. Well we leave in just 6 days for our R/T to Hawaii. I know not many of you have done this cruise, but if anyone has questions they'd like me to answer, I'll be glad to get the information for you. We leave Saturday to fly to LA and then we embark on Sunday. If you're curious about the Diamond Princess, Hawaii (we do 5 ports of call) or the whole R/T experience, just let me know and I'll do what I can to answer your questions. I may do a live post or two since we'll have our laptop with us.

The crowd is a bit older, but still fun. I haven't heard of any "family" sailing with us so far, but there always seems to be a least a few Lesbian couples aboard and some gay guys as well. We've got a decent thread going on the regular boards, so I know we'll meet some wonderful people on our adventure.

Just stoppin in to wish Mithryl a safe trip :) Have a great time ladies Hawaii that should be awesome! I would like to do that cruise one day. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Maybe I'll do it for our 10 year anniversary which will be in 3 years since my partner doesn't want to reset the clock when we get married lol :D We've been together for 7 yrs and we're getting married in 16 days wow time sure flew by. Everything is coming along together just fine thank God :) We're cruising in 4 weeks  Not soon enough LOL

Take care all and Bon Voyage Mithryl...

  12. AB and MT here. I have been looking at this board but finally decided to read it and wow! We are 52 and live in Staten Island, NY.

Our next cruise is on the Explorer of The Seas out of Bayonne, NJ on March 28th.

About us: We have known each other since we were kids - went to school together and got married in Canada (asking "Honey, how long we been married?" "Which one she replies" We have NY domestic partnership, Vermont civil union, and Canada marriage which has been 3 years now. We made everything different years but basically the same date so we don't have that many anniversaries to remember.

We love cruising but have set vacations at work. Eventually, if our vacation time coincides with an Olivia cruise and we know vacation times enough in advance we would love to try it just to compare.

We always meet others and go to the FOD stuff - the best was on the 14 day cruise, met so many nice couples.

    So, Hi all.

    AB

Happy New Year to All!!! Sorry I haven't been on the boards in a while but I've been busy with the wedding planning. Everything is coming along well thank God!!! It's 7 weeks from today WOW time flies...

    Athena55am,

My friends and I (6 of us) will be sailing with you on the Explorer March 28th ~ 60 days from tomorrow YAY...We are all from Jersey. It'll be my partner and I honeymoon cruise and our very close friends are joining us 2 other couples (gay guys). I'm sure we'll meet at the FOD meeting.

Talk to you all soon have to get off The L Word is coming on ;)

  13. Nice she'll be on here way in 4 more days...

Hey I received this as an email from a friend and thought I should share with you all :)

FW: There will be no nursing home in my future...

When I get old and feeble, I am going to get on a Princess Cruise Ship. The average cost for a nursing home is $200 per day. I have checked on reservations at Princess and I can get a long term discount and senior discount price of $135 per day.

That leaves $65 a day for:

    1. Gratuities which will only be $10 per day.

    2. I will have as many as 10 meals a day if I can waddle to the restaurant, or I can have room service (which means I can have breakfast in bed every day of the week).

3.Princess has as many as three swimming pools, a workout room, free washers and dryers, and shows every night.

    4. They have free toothpaste and razors, and free soap and shampoo.

    5. They will even treat you like a customer, not a patient. An extra $5 worth of tips will have the entire staff scrambling to help you.

    6. I will get to meet new people every 7or 14 days.

    7. T.V. broken? Light bulb needs changing? Need to have the mattress replaced? No problem! They will fix everything and apologize for your inconvenience.

    8. Clean sheets and towels every day, and you don't even have to ask for them.

    9. If you fall in the nursing home and break a hip you are on Medicare. If you fall and break a hip on the Princess ship they will upgrade you to a suite for the rest of your life.

Now hold on for the best! Do you want to see South America, the Panama Canal, Tahiti , Australia , New Zealand , Asia , or name where you want to go? Princess will have a ship ready to go.So don't look for me in a nursing home, just call shore to ship.

P.S. And don't forget, when you die, they just dump you over the side at no charge.

  14. Jess,

Hey girl congrats on your wedding! I'm happy for you both. I know you'll have a great ceremony. I'm sure your honey moon cruise will be the icing on the cake. I can't wait to see all of the pictures when you guys get back. Have fun planning your wedding!

    shan9700:)

Thank you! I'm excited we finally booked the place check it out http://www.thewestwood.com/ :D I have to do a countdown clock ;) Yes the cruise will be great especially since we have 4 of our close friends joining us it will be a party every night LOL

  15. stormloca777 - Yeah, I felt that way about spending the money for our wedding, too, but in the end I was very glad we did the full monte and had a rather traditional wedding. While Linda and I would have been happy to keep it low key and have only us and our witnesses, the fact that we had a real wedding with family members, friends and all, officiated by a Wedding Commissioner in Victoria, Canada where same-sex weddings are legal and binding, actually served to really legitimize our relationship to all our family members. A wedding is something they understand, as they have been married themselves, while a commitment ceremony or a domestic partnership ceremony or whatever, does not mean the same thing in their minds. I mean, it would have meant the same thing to me and Linda, but it wouldn't have meant the same thing to our hetero family and friends. Now, they saw a real wedding with two women and accepted it as valid and actually normal....and more importantly, it cemented the joining of our two respective families into one family! It was totally worth the expense and turmoil and planning hassles for those reasons alone. So, be glad you're going to all the trouble....your families will see you both in a different light and it normalizes our relationships to hetero people who will witness it. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. May your years together be long and prosperous.

    Carol and Linda.

Thank you so much! I do agree with you that in the end it will be all worth it :D And I am very happy that we are doing it for all those reason ;)

Thanks again I will keep you all posted on our progress.

  16. Thank you Mithryl & Etoile! It's all very exicting but there's a lot of work involved in this wedding planning stuff. If it were up to me I would have taken the money we're spending and I would have booked another cruise LOL but she wants this and I want her to be happy and make it all come together for her ;)

    Talk to you all later.

    Have a great weekend!!! :D

  17. I just wanted to stop in and say hello. Sorry I've been MIA but my partner & I are getting married :D A lot to do in such short time ~ we're getting married in March right before the cruise. We live in NJ so we are able to have a civil union.

Hope you all are doing well...

Happy Sailings to you all ;)

  18. Our next one is in March ~3/28/08~ 9 nights on the Explorer of the Seas :D

I'm planning on taking my grandmother on a 1 nighter out of NY but everything is booked :( She's not doing to well and she's been wanting to go on one ever since I started going on them last year. I am going to continue looking. I don't have anymore days left to take off of work so that is why I can only do a 1 nighter with her.
