  1. My DH and I will be in Bermuda next month and have booked several dives with Dive Bermuda Somerset. I believe they are located by the Somerset bridge. Is it easy to get a taxi early in the morning (7am) to go to Somerset? Anyone have an idea on the cost and whether taxis in Bermuda are cash only? Any he,p is appreciated. Thanks.

  2. My DH and I were on the Reflection this past Christmas. We had an amazing cruise and didn’t want to get off the ship. While there were a good number of children on board we did not find it disruptive and we had a great time. I wouldn’t hesitate to book that ship again over the holidays.

  3. We have a back to back on equinox coming up in a few weeks negative test permitting. We have not been on equinox in a few years. What do you recommend at raw on 5? We used to love the lobster ramen and shrimp and lobster dumplings. Are they still available? We were not impressed with the raw on five menu on edge and apex so hoping equinox menu has not changed. Thanks and loving your blog so far! It’s making me so excited for my upcoming cruises.

  4. I agree with all the previous posters but also want to describe my recent experience this past holiday season. My husband and I were scheduled on the edge New Years sailing. When we woke up very early in the morning we found our flight to Florida on delta had been cancelled. While delta had a three hour wait for help I was able to get a Celebrity air rep on the phone immediately and they were actually able to find us a replacement flight a few hours after our scheduled flight with confirmed seats. Again for our return we received a cancellation email at 11pm the night before we disembarked and were scheduled on an 11am flight. Again delta wait was over three hours and a call from the ship would have been difficult. We were able to have the guest services contact celebrity air and they called us in our cabin and again were able to get us a replacement flight with confirmed seats very close to our original flight time. When we arrived at the airport the next day we were lucky to be two of the very few who had secured flights back as most people who were canceled were trying to rebook at the airport, many for one to two days later. Based on that I have only good things to say about celebrity air and we will continue to use them when we don’t have much flexibility in our travel arrangements.

  5. I highly recommend Aqua Marine Dive shop in St Thomas. My husband and I been working with them for over 10 years. Ana and Wolfgang are the best. They take great care of you regardless of experience. They certified me for my open water certification and both the advanced and rescue diver certification for my husband. Everyone that works with them is great too. If you book tell them Gail and Matt referred you!

  6. I am curious if anyone has used the personic healthcare testing available in Fort Lauderdale (covidtestflorida.com). They allow you to book more than two weeks out which is very helpful. I don’t travel until later I December but curious if anyone has any experience with them. I know I can order the tests from optum but am worried as a number of people appear to have issues so prefer an in person test where possible.

  7. My husband and I are scheduled to sail in December on Celebrity. Currently I do not see any options to dive at any of our ports. Our scheduled stops are San Juan (late afternoon arrival), St Maarten and Tortola. We have never dove at any of these ports previously. I understand we do not know yet if we can use third party excursions but assuming we can, any recommendations for dive shops in these ports that take cruise ship passengers? Alternatively do you recommend using ship excursion to dive if one is even available?

  8. My husband and I just got off the Equinox a few weeks ago for two weeks. We had to beg and plead for a beach bag as even though we were In a sky suite and our friends were in concierge they got one and we did not without asking way too many times. It was a lightweight grey one similar to the old blue one. My understanding from the Butler was that they don’t give out the zippered bag anymore.

  9. My husband has a cpap as well. I reached out to special needs department and requested extension cord and distilled water. They responded within 24 hours. Has always worked for me in the past. We usually remind room steward when we board.

  10. Discover scuba diving is an awesome introduction to scuba diving. I was not sure if I would like it so I did discover first in st Thomas. Needless to say I am now certified and have a number of scuba adventures booked on upcoming cruises. If you are looking for a great dive shop for discover scuba I highly recommend Aquamarine. We have been working with them for years and my husband has obtained multiple certifications through them.

  11. My husband and I are heading to the Equinox next month. I am a slot player as well. Do you remember who the casino host was? Were there any good old slot machines? We went on the solstice last summer in Alaska and the casino was quiet most of the time and there were limited new machines on that ship as well. In fact many of the machines were the same ones from several years earlier when I sailed on that ship.

  12. I am trying to arrange an excursion in St Kitts for later this year and the tour operator asked me to find out if the ship is on island time or is on daylight savings time. For those individuals that have sailed recently on the Summit's southern caribbean Itinerary, please let me know if the ship changes time during the 7 day itinerary out of San Juan (or is San Juan also does not observe DST). Thanks in advance.

  13. They have a return time on the wrist bands they give you. However, they do not hold you to that if you have an excursion. It's more for those just walking around Placentia. Basically, they don't want everyone trying to take the last ferry back to the cruise ship. They don't have enough space to do so. So they try to stagger everyone as best they can. We just planned to catch the second to last ferry back to be safe. We had a pretty full day at Laughing Bird Caye and although quite full, made it back with no problems. It is all very new, but everyone handled the crowd well. Honestly, Laughing Bird Caye was so awesome, we all kinda wished we had missed the boat! ;-D

My husband and I had booked this excursion for our upcoming cruise on getawatpy but we cancelled as we could not figure out we could make it to Placencia by 9am which is the tour time. What time ferry did you take and were you on the Getaway? What was your meeting time for the tour? I am wondering if I should book it again.

  14. I have tried researching on the Belize board but to no avail. I am curious when the first ferry to Placencia is for the Getaway. Our schedule says 8am arrival but from all my research I have not seen a ferry before 9. I booked an excursion through a third party and they insist there is a ferry but I wanted to see if anyone can confirm there is a ferry before 9 am from Harvest Caye. Thanks in advance.
