  1. NCL cruised out of Baltimore about 10 years ago.  Not sure if another cruise line was also sailing at that time.  Their new cruises started 09/2023.

Before then the parking situation was Carnival on one side of the terminal and Royal on the other.  That’s how it was on our last cruise in March.

When we asked about NCL, no one was sure how it would work.  Guess we will find out next month.

If at all possible, could you please post bar menus with the new sustainable and other drinks from the Metropolitan and Belvidere Bars would be greatly appreciated.  Have seen all of the various food menus but zero bar menus so far.   Link to food menus.

  3. Just received this email for our Carnival Legend cruise.  It is for Platinum & Suite.

VIFP PLATINUM AND DIAMOND SUITE GUESTS UPDATE
    AND ONLINE CHECK-IN INVITATION

Dear Valued Platinum and Diamond Suite Guests,

This communication is being sent to our booked Platinum and Diamond Suite guests.  It is independent from any request our guests might have pending for an exemption to vaccine requirements, and the receipt of this communication is not any indication of the status of your request.

We want to thank you for the loyalty and support you have shown Carnival, and also make you aware of the new way to redeem your VIFP amenities. These changes were designed in accordance with our new Have Fun. Be Safe. protocols to minimize the number of stateroom deliveries, while making it easier for you to collect some of your benefits.

Moving forward, certain VIFP amenities will be linked to your Sail & Sign folio for electronic redemption, like how we currently handle complimentary laundry.  Simply claim your benefit, using your Sail & Sign card, and a one-time credit for that item will be posted on your folio and be visible on your statement.

    Complimentary Beverages
    • Brunch Beverage – redeemable in the dining room.
    • 1.5L Bottled Water – redeemable from any bar, restaurant or your stateroom.
Chocolate Delight (5 + Day Cruises)

A tasty treat will be ready for you to enjoy; just call room service to schedule delivery.

Carnival Logo Gift & Ship Pin

Please visit our Photo Gallery to claim your Carnival logo gift and your Carnival ship pin.  We encourage you to claim your gifts no later than two days prior to the end of your cruise.

We also want you to know that given our focus on meeting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) requirements and implementation of new health and safety protocols, we will need to adjust how we deliver some of the VIFP priority benefits, as follows:
    • ONLINE CHECK-IN – All guests will be required to complete Online Check-In, which will open 14 days prior to sailing.  Platinum and Diamond Suite guests will be given 48 hours advance access to select their preferred Arrival Appointment. Please visit My Cruise Manager on Carnival.com starting at 16 days prior to sailing to complete your Online Check-In and select the Arrival Appointment that works best for your plans.
Due to additional embarkation day processes, all guests will have to arrive promptly at their Arrival Appointment.
    • STATEROOM ACCESS – Staterooms will be ready when you board.
    • WATER SHUTTLE PRIORITY – Priority water shuttle debark will be provided subject to local guidance at the destinations we visit, which may change without prior notice.  Our team on board will keep you informed of the debarkation plans for each port.
    • CASINO – Although we are currently unable to host casino tournaments on board, you will be given US$25 in Casino FunPlay®, in addition to any other FunPlay® you might be entitled to as part of your booking.
    • DEBARK – You will have the benefit of priority debark.

Very very disappointed in Carnival bringing back smoking in casino again. Did not see any drop in casino attendance with no smoking rules. It was so refreshing to be able to breathe while playing and not to have your clothes stink. Also had access to all slot machines. May need to find a no smoking casino line.

Sailed NCL Bliss right before Covid and they have a totally enclosed area for smokers.  Very nice not to smell like smoke.

Caribbean Colada from the Red Frog Rum Bar. It is supposed to have coconut, banana, and pineapple, but I could not taste the banana and can only assume the bartender made a regular pina colada instead.

Carnival has moved on from the paper straws and is now using the Sorbos edible straws. Sadly, these are better in concept that in execution. While they hold their shape, they develop a slightly sticky or slimy outer texture and are NOT a flavor or texture you actually want to consume. The closest thing I can compare it to is chewing on dense cardboard. If you want a better straw, I recommend bringing your own.

The straws are definitely slimy and disgusting.

And in just a matter of minutes, the weather has changed and the clouds have opened up on us. Decks 10 and 11, as well as 9 Forward, are now closed off due to high winds.

The forward pool is now empty, but the mid-ship domed pool still has several swimmers. I think it is time to head down to the Follies Theatre for Game of Thrones Trivia at 1:45.

Sure was a lot of trivia.  Our trivia days are over.  They really need some better daytime activities.

In terms of "how full is the ship?," it isn't sold out, but I would guess we are somewhere around 75-80% this week. At 1:00 PM on the first sea day, the hot tubs are full, nearly every table in the Lido buffet is occupied, and I count 19 people in the pool under the dome.

MarineTraffic shows the ship just south of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, and the air temperature is 71 degrees. If the sun would come out from behind the clouds, it would be a truly beautiful day at sea!

We were also on this cruise and were told 80% full.  This made me a bit anxious.  In September, it was only 60% on the Pride~much better.  But, had a wonderful time.

Ah Dang nabit!!  In my haste to want to believe it was true, I misread this yesterday.  I can now clearly see and admit that it does indeed address specifically those cruisers who have booked a suite and are also diamond or platinum.   Grumble, grumble, grumble...must not partake in at home Cheers package before reading important things.

Been there, done that.  Happy Thanksgiving.

So the update is no changes? Did I miss something? Same as it's being done?

Maybe too many complained about stuff not being in the cabins as before so they are sending out a email for those who dont read cc. I ran into someone livid with their cabin steward for not knowing where they could get their loyalty rewards.

Sailed the Pride in September and no one knew anything.  Wasted time trying to track down what was going on.  So email is appreciated.
