We just stayed there in October of this year. They still had construction going on, but the room was nice and there was no noise. We drove our car and could park at this hotel which has a gated garage underground. We had no complaints about this place. Several restaurants close by. Enjoy

Not trying to be one of this "negative-nelly" folks BUT isn't that covered under your auto insurance policy
Yes, it is, I was just trying to be a nice guy and warn other people so maybe it won't happen to them. Lighten up a little

$7,000? [emoji15]. What kind of truck is that? Did you mean $700? [emoji848]

No, I ment $7,000. It is a 2016 F450 Platinum. I couldn't believe how much it was. Just ask the ford dealer.

We had no problem with the hotel. Room was nice, bathroom clean, breakfast was very good. We did however have a problem leaving our truck parked there. When we got back from our cruise someone had stolen our tailgate. The hotel personal said that it happens all the time. I sure with they would have warned us before hand. If you leave your truck be sure you lock your tailgate. A new tailgate for our truck us $7,000.

There not as good as the old family recipe I have for Ranger Cookie's....While we do eat those when onboard (as hard and crunchy as they are)...we always think...gee...if only they were as good as ours ;):)
Would love to have your recipe.

Which is the best to stay pre cruise. I need parking for my truck

I have never had a bad cruise. Been on several different cruise lines and somewhere around 40 or so cruises. So I would say that whatever one you decide on it will be great. I will say I remember my first one the most as everything was brand new (and it was a small ship back in the early 90's) After that I was hooded. Cruising is my favorite type of vacation.

Hubby and I sailing Eastern Carib in November. Not booking excursions thru the ship so need some suggestions as what there is to do. Saw some postings about Capt Bob in St. Maarten - any other suggestions?? What about Coco Cay?
Go to Maho Beach in St Maarten

shelby: The official high in Fairbanks was 85F yesterday, but today has been cooler with highs predicted for the mid-70sF. Showers are predicted to arrive tomorrow, which we desperately need as it is extremely dry. Alaska Fire Service has issued a red flag warning for essentially all of Interior Alaska (i.e., extreme fire danger). Our National Weather Service local office is predicting highs in the mid-70s with chance of showers through the end of this week.
Thanks for the update.

We will be in fairbanks on the 29th of this month, and I have been watching the weather and it seems really warm with no rain for the next 10 days. I sure hope it is that nice when we get there.

We stayed at Hampton Inn last year and took the public transportation to the hotel and it was fine. Very nice area and breakfast was superb that they offered. We did have to take a taxi to the pier. This is my favorite place to stay before the cruise. You can get to Bayside on the metro and it is free. Lots of places to eat

Excursions
in Alaska
What is your itinerary? There are a lot of Princess itineraries. At Denali the Natural History Tour does not go far enough into the park to view animals. You either need to take the Tundra Wilderness Tour or take the park shuttle out to at least Eileson visitor center. What animals do you want to see?We are doing Denali, Kenai, and Talkeetna. Want to see bear, moose, sheep, any of the larger animas. Thanks

Excursions
in Alaska
We are going on a Princess Cruisetour from 5-29 thru 6-13 and want to see as many animals as possible. Any suggestions for excursions?

We would love to do the shuttle bus in Denali, but I called and they will not pick us up at the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. How would we get from the lodge to the shuttle bus?
-
Hey Kentuckychris I was checking stuff out here also.
See you soon

Try the Hampton Inn Brickell Downtown. It is close to the metro mover which is free (I think) so you can have a way to get around town.

I have booked a whole cruise for my daughter and her kids. We had their credit card info and their vifp club # and birthdays. Carnival did a complete booking just like they did for our cruise.

Has anyone done this lately? If so how was it? Taking our grandkids (15 & 12) on their first cruise for halloween and looking for something in Aruba.
Thanks in advance
-
We were on a cruise one time & had a blast and our bill was only about $11.00
I think I had one drink. You don't have to spend a lot of money to have a good time

Has anyone been on the Breeze to Aruba and done the Jolly Pirates excursion and not had any trouble with the time? The ship gets there at 8 and the tour leaves at 9.

I use this site all the time to figure out the time differences for different ports:
http://www.worldtimeserver.com/convert_time_in_AW.aspx?y=2014&mo=10&d=31&h=12&mn=0
It looks like on 10/31/14 you'll be at the same time as Miami, so ship and port time will be the same.
Thanks so much.

We did the cruise & stay pkg because we drive. That pkg came with a free shuttle for 2 going to the cuise at 11am, but on the way home we took a taxi back to the motel and it was about $30. Maybe an Uber would have been cheaper--I don't know
