  1. Thanks! Was intially thinking of taking a train from Newark Penn Station to the World Trade Center Station. Do you know is there parking available (and if so is it safe) as we could drive from Ramada to Newark Penn Station.

Also a ferry sounds interesting, but wondering about the temps at the end of Feb.

  2. Hubby and I will be staying at the Ramada in February and driving in a day ahead of our cruise. We thought we might like to head over to NYC and maybe see the WTC Memorial, the Statue of Liberty, Times Square or some other sites for the day. Anyone have any clue as to the transportation situation as neither of us would care to drive in. I'm thinking the WTC Memorial would be the number 1 choice for sightseeing. Any help on how/costs to get there from the Ramada would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks so much!!

  3. I decided to look at one of those "other" booking sites to check on rates and availability. I noticed one of those vendors are offering free gratuities for the sailing I am interested in. I will be Diamond for my 2018 sailing, and in 3 weeks I will be on the Anthem. I was hoping to book on board in order to receive my balcony discount ($225), but I'm beginning to wonder if booking with a mega travel site who is offering free gratuities (roughly $324 for a 12 nighter) is the better deal.

Do most people book with RCCL direct or choose to use one of the mega travel booking agencies? Their website is really frustrating me

  4. Anyone know if I can book a hair appointment on Anthem? I was tossing around the idea of letting one of the staff do my hair for a formal night, but I can't find a place to book it in my cruise planner. Maybe they don't have a salon that would just do a wash/blow/style?!?

    Thanks!

  5. Do they weigh you in before iFly? My husband is right on the border of the weight limit, and he's working hard to make weight, but we all know how weight can change quickly on a cruise [emoji12]. I really hope he can get far enough under before we go in April that it's a non-issue, but I don't want any surprises if they actually weigh you in (I'm guessing geared up) and him be a few lbs over.

    Thanks!

  6. As a "GenXer" who is one trip from "Diamond" I actually believe that had those two crew members (who apparently working late hours) got reprimanded for a lousy cup of coffee at 0430 then I would consider taking my "loyalty" elsewhere if that is how RCCL would treat their crew. As far as the pax, there's not much to be done but as one poster said "grab a cup myself" and offer it to the crew. Without them I wouldn't be all smiles on vacation!!

  7. The last time we cruised I put a case of water in a tote with all my shoes. I slapped a luggage tag on the outside and the tote was delivered with the water inside. They did pop the zips ties I had on to keep the lid down, but everything was inside. We didn't use all the water by the end of the cruise so we told the cabin steward it was hers (we didn't want to drag it home) and she seemed pleased. Way cheaper then buying onboard
