Looking for advice or confirmation on the following. So we are to receive a sizeable OBC from our travel agency for our transatlantic cruise. I have been reading that the OBC does not get credited to the acct til we are actually on the ship thus preventing me from using it to book shore excursions. We have the Princess Plus pkg which includes gratuties, wifi, drinks etc. So therefore would want to use the credit for excursions. I just got an email from Princess regarding booking shore excursions which of course I have to prepay and I want to book so I ensure they are not sold out. How can I use this onboard credit towards the shore excursions as I believe I read something about seeing the SE desk when we get onboard. Any advice would be appreciated.

Looking for some advice on cabin selection on the Regal Princess for the Transatlantic to the British Isles in April. My 2 choices are a starboard side deluxe balcony or an aft balcony on Baja deck which we have never had before. I like the size of the aft balcony but an concerned we may not be able to enjoy it as much as the weather may be on the cooler side. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Looking for advice on booking our first ever transatlantic cruise and visit to Europe. We normally book a balcony however I am would like feedback on this ship in April for 24 days, would you book a balcony or AFT balcony due to it being cooler in temperatures? Was looking at deck 9 as we are in our 50's and have no issues walking or taking stairs. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Also are the shore excursions booked with Princess in US dollars? We are from Canada and I know when we did Princess in Australia you had the choice to have it in Canadian funds.

Was thinking about booking for April 2025 the British Isles from Ft Lauderdale. Can you tell me if I should book an aft balcony due to weather or stick with traditional mid section balcony? I heard that because its cooler your better to book aft but wasnt sure. Any advice appreciated. Tks

I am looking for some advice regarding booking a British Isles Cruise. First ever trip to Europe and was planning for mid april-May. I would really like to see alot of the castles and history as opposed to art galleries, etc. Would I be better off with Mediterranean itinerary or stick with the British Isles? I am partial to Royal Carribean or Princess lines and hope to pay in US funds as Canada to Euro is not great. Any advice would be appreciated.

I am only finding sailings for Ovation of the Seas til March 2021. Any news as to what they are doing with this ship?

Yeah I've repriced our March 2020 cruise twice now. Between our three cabins I've knocked over $1750 off our original fare.
DanSo was your cruise booked directly thru cruise line or travel agency? I just wondered if it was easier to rebook and get lower price via cruise line directly? Thanks for info.

Was wondering if somebody could tell me what category one would have to book in order to get a long lounge chair on their balcony? I know the junior suites have but I'm looking at more the balcony rooms with the large balconies.

Can anyone answer why Ovation of the Seas is changing some of their cabin categories at various dates....
- January 24th, 2020 - April 20th, 2020
- May 7th, 2020 - September 17th, 2020
- September 27th, 2020 - May 8th, 2021
- May 21st, 2021 - September 10th, 2021
When you view different deck plans for the ship you can see that some cabin categories change but their sizes do not. Was just curious if anyone could shed some light.

I am looking at this same itinerary for Sept/Oct 2021 but Royal hasn't released any dates yet. How far in advance was this sailing released?

Looking at doing at Transpacific from Honolulu to Sydney in Sept 2021 but itineraries haven't been posted yet. Looking for feedback on anyone that has done this itinerary before? We have been on the Ovation for a 13 night New Zealand cruise and absolutely loved the ship. I was wondering how fast these sailing typically sold out? I noticed that there are no balconies available for the repositioning next year in April and in Sept and thats why I was wondering how far out a person needs to book. Any feedback greatly appreciated.

We were on the Ovation for 13 nights from Sydney in Feb 2019 and the room was fantastic but the bed was terribly terribly hard, and I prefer a firm mattress. Felt like sleeping on a foam on a board. I asked for a topper and the steward didn't seem to know what I was talking about. My back was very sore but I still loved the ship and would definitely go back on board.

Trying to find repositioning cruise around Sept 27, 2021 from Honolulu to Sydney on Ovation of the Seas but so far no luck. Will continue to wait patiently....

Can anyone tell me if on board account for Mediterranean cruises are usually in US dollars if say booking with Princess or other major cruise lines out of the U.S.?
-
Thank you so much. I welcome all the knowledge one can get off these boards. We recently came back from Australia and New Zealand and these boards were so helpful! Im sure I will have alot more questions as my planning progresses.

We would want to fly in at least a day before our cruise and try and find a hotel close by the cruise port if possible. How is Oct for weather?

First time trip to Europe and looking at doing a cruise. If you had to pick an embarkation city for your cruise in Europe (specifically looking at Oct 2021 Enchanted Princess 22 day) in Barcelona or Rome, which city would you pick to and why? i.e. Barcelona or Rome

The Europe itineraries are already available for booking through the summer of 2021, thus your options for the British Isles are mainly the Crowne Princess and I believe the Grand (Island may also touch a few ports at times). I asked this same question about the Regal in another thread awhile ago and got this answer:
So, I expect when the Alaska 2021 itineraries are released there will be a transpacific re-positioning cruise for the Regal over to either Vancouver or Seattle, the usual 7 day northbound/southbound Alaska cruises, then another transpacific back over to Auckland and a New Zealand cruise right away or direct to Sydney. Hope that helps! 🙂
Thank you very much! Answers my question.

Anyone know what happening with the Regal Princess after March 2021? I cannot seem to find any cruises for her anywhere. I would like to know if she will be doing the British Isle Cruise again in April 2021 like she is in April 2020.

For those of you that have booked a guaranteed balcony stateroom on Ovation of the Seas, what was your experience? Were you satisfied with your room? Were you placed more at the front or the rear of the ship? Noisy area? Just looking for feedback. We have always booked a specific room and have never gone with a guaranteed before.

Any news on the effect the monsoons are having on Cairns and Port Douglas ports of call? We are not scheduled to arrive there until Feb 27th and being a first time visitor, hope we will be able to venture ashore without any problems.
-
Thanks for letting me know. I would have still kept checking.

We are sailing March 8, 2019 on the Ovation of the Seas and I have been checking for weeks now to make our reservations for entertainment and nothing is posted except Pixels. Its now 44 days out and I'm wondering if this is unusual and I should be calling or just sit back and wait patiently. 😉
