Pat, I just want to mention that while the norm is to have a formal night on an eight night cruise, there have been instances when this was not the case due to the itinerary. I believe in those cases there was not a sea day. So if you don't have a sea day you may want to write to on-board guest services a couple of months before the cruise to verify this. Their e-mail address is: obgs@crystalcruises.com

Thank you Keith. I will do that.

Really? This is a surprise. I have 4 more cruises booked with Crystal and when I tried to upgrade to a better cabin, I was supposed to pay more than US 5000 per cruise.
IviThat is my experience too!

I think Crystal should offer lower Single Supplements to entice more singles to take a cruise. It was only 30 % in the OC but now they want 65% or more depending on the cruise. The Single rooms are not appealing!

They have not been sent out yet. Should be soon.
We are all in the same "boat" on this.
I know their plan is to get them out much earlier but this is one of those things that is attributable to being on the first cruise.
Keith
Hi Keith,
Do you know if they will be sent in the regular mail or by UPS/FedEX? If it is regular mail, it will take four to five days to reach us in California.

I am way pass the original cruise and am in the penalty phase of the alternate cruise. I guess if I cancel the cruise, I will loose the entire amount unless I can claim the insurance. Thanks for the reply.

Does anyone have the experience of canceling the alternative voyage after accepting the offer to move to another cruise due to overbooking? The offer has a note saying that if the alternative voyage is cancelled, the penalty of the more restrictive sailing will apply. Does it mean that the penalty will be applied base on the original sailing?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I have more research to do and decision to make.

I am in California so the 6:30pm flight to Newark does not work for me. I think the best bet is staying in Lisbon one more night.
-
I would continue onto the next segment if I do not have another cruise booked for September. I think my only option is to stay in Lisbon for one more night and fly out in the morning.

Pat, you are very welcome.
The one time we sailed out of Lisbon it was the cruise right before dry dock so on the plus side they pushed to start debark early but we arrived the day before. Yes, see what the TA comes back with.
Sometimes we stay over depending on timing and what flights we want such as if we can get a direct flight but I know that is not ideal and adds some additional cost.
Keith
Thanks Keith.
I have some decision to make. None of the flights are ideal!

Pat,
I am not sure what the times mean. I looked at a bunch of other sailings and they all have a range of times such as 8:00 to 10:30 AM. 8:30 to 11:00 AM and so forth. I don't like to guess. I would ask them do they mean these are the times one can disembark. Some actually make sense such as 8:00 to 10:30 AM. So I would double check on what this means for Lisbon. 9:00 seems late to start disembarkation.
4:00 PM seems late for a flight.
I tend to error on the conservative side though because even if arrival time as 7:30 or 8:00 AM there is always the chance something goes wrong. I've only flown out of Lisbon one time. I remember the ticket counter didn't open until a certain time and then we had to drop off the checked bags to another area and then security was chaotic. I like to put my carry-on's on the security screening when I know I can't go right through myself and I remember after putting them on they held us back and before I knew it someone almost took my bag. Anyway, hopefully, this isn't the norm but I would give yourself extra time at the airport. 4:00 PM or after seems excessive.
If it was me I would look for a flight after 2:00 PM but I would have my TA check with Crystal to get more clarification on what these times represent before making any flight decisions.
Also while the roll call is not very active you could post there to see what others might know and what times they are booking flights.
Keith
Keith,
I have not flown out of the Lisbon airport so I do not know the airport. It sounds quite chaotic. All of the flights to U.S. are in the morning, latest is 12:20pm. If Serenity arrives Lisbon at 9am, the earliest flight is 2pm (using the 5hr flight recommendation). This means that I have to stay in Lisbon another day and fly out in the morning. I will have my TA call Crystal and verify the arrival time.
Thank you so much for your post.

I am looking to book the inaugural cruise from Marseille to Lisbon. The arrival time for Lisbon is listed as 9-11am. Crystal is telling me that I should book a flight departing Lisbon after 4pm. Anyone have any information to share?
Thanks

We will be boarding Navigator next month and curious to know who the officers are onboard now?

I usually do not order room service but I might have to on the next Regent cruises. I am just wondering if I should tip room service?

I know for sure they know how many cruises we have completed and that we've been receiving a Crystal Society Discount on cruises booked.
I have not heard what the program will look like in terms of milestone benefits.
Keith
Keith,
Thanks for your post!

I wonder if the old Crystal Society Program is also returning? If so, when the detail will be announced?

Here you go: https://www.rssc.com/experience/cuisine/room-service. There is a sample room service menu to open. You may also order off the Compass Rose menu at dinner time.

Thanks for the info.

What is usually on the room service menu? How is the room service on the Navigator at dinner time?

Ww have two Regent Cruises scheduled.
One is in a Superior Suite on the SS Splendor, and the other is a G Category on Navigator, so not Concierge.
We have sailed with them before ...but it has been a few years. They information we got was that one free wifi connection per room is included. So all-inclusive really is not....can we get a second connection for free? The rates they quote for additional wifi are awfully high. We tend to use wifi at the same time when we are resting in the room and catching up with everything. We don't download or upload videos, we do email, RSS feed, newspapers, FaceBook.
We are in E. How much do they charge another connection?
