  1. I also have FTTF for our Dream cruise in Feb. I really think I am going to cancel too. I have thought long and hard and really don't think it's worth it on this cruise. Also, I know I will make someone else really happy and can spend my money on something to make me happy (like a DOD, everyday)!

  2. Does anyone have info about the advanced luggage check in at the port of NO and transporting luggage to the airport? Is this a paid service offered by Carnival or just a service provided at the port? Anyone used it recently and was it reliable? Traveling soon, so I would appreciate any responses. Thanks!

  3. Does anyone have any current info about how the advanced luggage check-in from the cruise terminal to the airport works? We have a late flight out of NO and don't know what to do with our luggage while we walk around. I've read some not so good reviews about having them take your luggage to the airport, so I would really like to hear from someone who has done this recently. Thanks for any replies.

  4. Just trying to figure out how these cards work. If I buy these cards and use them to pay the balance of my cruise off, what happens if I cancel my cruise closer to sailing date (I have insurance)? How do I get a refund? Will it be what I paid for the cards in the form of cash or a gift card? I have someone traveling with me in not so good health and never know what will happen. If the insurance company reimburses me, will it be in the form of cash or does Carnival reimburse in gift cards? Sorry for not understanding the concept of these cards, but thanks for any help.
  5. I just recently joined aarp, so I am new at this. If I buy the gift cards and use them to pay off my balance for my cruise, if something happens that we do not go on the cruise (I have insurance) will I get cash back for the cancellation? Just wondering how this works with gift cards. Thanks for any help.

  6. The arrival time for the Dream into NO is 8:00am. Would love to get the early flight out at 10:10am to head home since it is on a Sunday and the next nonstop flight is not until 7pm. Anyone have suggestions as to how early of a flight they have taken? Would anyone out there try this? Thanks for any feedback.

  7. Quick question about a no show. Our cruise is paid in full, we have a room for 4, but only 2 will be going. We don't want to give up the room since it is next to other family members, so we are not worried about any kind of refund. Just wondering, if we do a no show at check in would we at least get back port charges and taxes on the 2 no shows? Also, should we tell them at check in that they definitely won't be coming or say they are coming later in order to keep the room?

  8. Since on this ship we cannot get 3 balconies to open together, like on all the other ships we have been on, I thought having the connecting room for the one balcony that will not open to the others would be nice for my niece to travel back and forth to the other balconies to spend time together. Not really a big deal, but trying to make it work.

  9. You are exactly right BigBO882! I have talked to so many reps from Carnival and they have all given me different answers about the balconies opening between the cabins and connecting rooms. I'm to the point I don't know who to believe, so I am trying to find answers from experienced cruisers.

  10. Thanks for the heads up serene56. I did choose rooms above a dance club, so now I have to change them. Also, I am being told that a quad room cannot be sold as a 2 person room. The only connecting rooms are quads and a double. Is it true there are no double connecting rooms on deck 6 or 7. Having a hard time understanding this ship with balconies and connecting rooms. Other ships we have sailed no problems.

  11. Thanks everyone. Never did this before. My pvp is not in today, but I'm sure things can wait till tomorrow, since I've booked a year in advance. I just don't understand the fact that we are so far out, but so few rooms are available to choose from right now. Guess I just don't understand how things work in the cruising industry.

  12. Thanks so much for the info. Cove doesn't sound bad at all. I am still trying to decide. When looking at the website showing where balconies connect, I see they only show 2 connecting. Same way with regular balconies. Anyone have any idea if it is possible to have 3 connecting balconies in a row for a cove or even a regular balcony?

  13. Trying to decide on a regular balcony or a cove balcony. Seems to be as many people not liking it as those who do like it. Are the cove balconies able to open to the balconies beside of each other? We like to open 3 in a row and I don't know if this is possible in a cove balcony. I've read about the location making a difference with noise, but other than that, what are some other concerns about these rooms?

  14. Looking to stay in NO for 3 nights before cruise. Want to be in the middle of it all, since 1 in our party cannot walk too far. Are there any places that will accommodate 6 adults, balcony looking over street so we can people watch? Looking for a middle of the road hotel, although I know anything like this is probably going to be pricey. Any suggestions would be helpful. Never been to NO.

  15. We will be sailing on the Pride in May. We have 4 balconies booked, all in a row. Will we be able to have them all opened to go back and forth to each others cabin? I know you can open between 2 balconies, but was wondering about 4. Thanks.
