  1. I had to rent a wheelchair close to our sailing. I didn't even try finding a handicap room so close to sailing. I just rented a collapsible wheelchair from carevacations.com. They delivered the wheelchair prior to me boarding and we were instructed to leave it there and they would pick it up after the cruise.

  2. Is it true what I feared about Hub? $5 per person to text each other during the cruise! DS and family are cruising with 2 other families, lots of teenagers. If Carnival only charges $5 each that's great.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Yes, it's true to use the text feature, it is $5.00 per device. If you would like to use the social media package it was $25 per device.

  3. I have seen posts on other social sites about this procedure with pictures and from what I have seen it is complete and total chaos. I choose not to purchase alcohol on a cruise if this is what is to be expected on the morning of debarkation.

They will have to seriously organize this to make me change my mind. IMHO!

  4. I've always traveled with a passport. I was getting my name changed on it since I got married. I got a letter 7 weeks later saying the marriage certificate did not have a raised seal. Well, I was married out of state but was able to get a certified copy to mail back in but my cruise is a week away. I'm worried I won't get it back in time. I have a birth certificate but at the top it says certified transcript of birth New York Department of health. It has a raised seal, my name, dob, place of birth, parents name and date filed. At the bottom it says this is to certify that the information concerning the birth of the above named person is true and accurate transcript of the information recorded on the original local certificate of birth on file with the local registrar of Brookhaven, New York.

Only reason I'm asking is because my kids all say certificate of live birth/certificate of vital records with vital statistics written on it. Mine does not say anything about vital statistics They were born in Georgia.

I'm sure different states use different wording but I'm just a worried and just need reassurance

Before we got our passports, my husband and I had certified copies of the birth AND a certified transcript of the birth from the state of Florida. We were not sure which one would work and they did not cost as much. They both worked the same. As long as it has the seal of your state on it, you should be fine.

  5. Jimmy Geegitz,

Nope. I just saw too many pictures of myself and realized that even though I feel fine, I'm HUGE! I joined Anytime Fitness and I've been working out every day after work instead of posting. I also changed jobs and my new employer's internet access is filtered heavily so I can't access CC and post while working.....not that I ever did post at work. :p

I do plan to finish this review and be at least a little smaller for our next cruise in July. Wish me luck!

Yay!!! Glad that you came back. I always enjoy your reviews and I was getting concerned. Congratulations on the new job and good luck with the weight loss!!!

  6. I was going to suggest that you meet on your first sea day, which is the best option, because embarkation day is quite busy. I didn't realize until the end of your post that your first full day at sea is 3 days into the cruise, and I can understand that you would want to meet each other before then.

My other thought is maybe have after dinner drinks as an informal meet and greet at a bar or one of the clubs and have the formal M&G on the sea day.

Good luck and enjoy your cruise!

  7. NavarreCruiser,

Thank you for the information that you have been posting in regards to the CDs, because quite frankly, you didn't have to do it, but you did. A CD is not a deal maker or breaker FOR ME. I cruise for the vacation, ship, and reuniting with my cruise friends that I have met along the way.

    For those that are complaining,

If it's something official that you wanted, maybe you should have checked the Carnival schedule instead of a message board.

Again I appreciate your time NavarreCruiser when posting at least something that everyone has been waiting far too long to see.

  8. In six Carnival cruises, this is the first I have seen. It scared the crap out of me. I had to keep checking my final payment due and make sure I did not forget to pay :o. I just went ahead and paid it off :p. Due date is next week.

And, I too can breathe easy knowing the only thing I have left to do is pack and cruise!

  9. It all depends on how many VIFP Platinum and Diamond guests there are. Also I would check as soon as your final payment date is because there maybe guests who previously purchased FTTF and had to cancel or their reservation was cancelled for non-payment. Keep looking and good luck. :)

  10. Glad to hear I won't be the only one that isn't "normal". LOL I know I have seen the pictures of people with the shirts...just never seen anyone that wasn't staff with the "wig". I'm going to have fun with this. :D

And please take pictures of all the fun my husband and I will look forward to. June can't get here fast enough!

  11. Try not to make dining decisions around that wine. It's pretty bad, usually with a vintage of that day.

But I've seen everything accommodated from 1 per tabletop, to one per couple. Ultimately, they just want you to make a reservation. They have also expanded the free "wine" to the second night.

When we have gone, the room has always been pretty much empty.

Agreed!!! I am in no way a wine snob, but the wine served was awful at best. In my opinion.

  12. Ok, this may be an "odd" question...but I'm going to put it out there. :D

We can't wait to do the Seuss breakfast with our 6 year old (who is celebrating Dr Seuss birthday this week in school and having a lot of fun with it).

Did any of you that have done it seen anyone (parents and children) dressed up for the event?

I have seen some really cute shirts with the "Thing 1" for the children and I found a "Mom of Thing 1" shirt for me. My husbands name is Sam and I thought about buying him the "Sam I am" shirt to wear.

Now comes the "funny" part. I bought a Thing wig...you know, the BLUE fuzzy wig they wear? I really get into things like this and I know my daughter would get a kick out of it.

Anyone seen others dress up for this event?

I know they also have the parades I was told. I thought it would be fun for that too. :o

Ok people...don't run and hide from me now thinking I've lost my mind.

Too funny. My husband and I ordered Thing 1 and Thing 2 shirts for us for the breakfast (no kids, just us) and we want to get the blue wigs as well. LOL. The only problem for me is that I usually wear my hair braided when cruising (with extensions) and not sure if the wig will be able to fit over my braids. I have seen pictures of this breakfast with people in shirts with various Dr. Seuss characters, but I haven't seen the wigs. :)

Truth be told, we are willing to have too much fun at this breakfast including dressing up in character. :D
