I was on an NCL ship last year in September, October and November. On every ship, they showed 2 games on Sunday (the Local, the big screen by the pool and the DBH), the Sunday and Monday night game and even the Thursday night game. It was also available on your cabin TV on a channel called Sports24 (which was normally soccer or tennis). I am not expecting to see much on my Prima TransAtlantic cruise later this month between being in the North Atlantic and the time differences.

    very promising info! Thanks!!

If it's a Caribbean cruise, ESPN Caribbean usually carries the nationally televised NFL games;  if not, they'll generally have them on one of the in cabin channels at least.

They'll also sometimes have them in one of a few places;  the casino bar being the best bet for the night game, followed by the local/o'sheehans, or the district if the ship has it and there's no live event going on (most nights there is though so they only show the day games).

It's a New England/Canada cruise... think that makes it any more likely it will be on?

  3. Thanks, everyone! I think I'll try to move it up to at least 7pm. We definitely want to enjoy as much as we can of the meats and I've heard fairy tales about the salad bar! I was on a RCCL cruise in November and they had *some* NFL games, but I didn't know if it would be the same on NCL (first time) and also hoping that since it's the SNF game they will have it in at least one bar. Though, with the history of my team and, if preseason is any indication, I may not miss much if it starts before we are done 😂

  4. About how long is the experience in Moderno? My friend booked dinner for 7:30pm on the Sunday we board and then, after I checked the NFL schedule, saw that the SNF game that night is Eagles vs Cowboys (GO BIRDS!) so I'm seriously considering changing the time to an earlier slot, if possible. This is also assuming the ship will be playing the game, but I've heard that is very likely. I don't suppose they have TVs in Moderno... 😂

  5. Is there anyone that has recent MDR and specialty menus from Breakaway? We'll be on the Oct 16 sailing and we are trying to decide what nights and where to do our specialty dining nights.

If there is already a thread for this, point me in the right direction please! I did a search but mostly came up with posts about Prima. Unless those menus are the same?

    Thanks!

I recently booked my first NCL cruise on the Bliss leaving San Pedro on 12/5. One of the promotions is the Adult Beverage Package. I’ve found what’s included in the Premium package, but I’m not sure what’s included in the ABP. NCL is offering a discounted upgrade to the Premium package and I’d like to know what the differences are.

I'm going to guess the upgrade you are being offered is the Premium Plus package. The Premium package is what is included when you get the Adult Beverage Package promo.

Unfortunately the Bliss and Encore do not seem to have the same detail in their floor plans. To make sure that I am getting the bed placement I prefer, I go to the NCL website and do a mock booking. At the point where you are able to select the stateroom it will tell you the bed placement. If you already have booked a room, you will not be able to select it on the same voyage but you can do mock bookings for other dates on the same ship. If you are booking through a TA they may not show the bed placement information.

oh my goodness, I have no idea how I missed seeing that. Too much excitement at just getting booked finally haha!

But this is good to know, thanks!

There is a way, but you have to be looking at a Deck Plan.

For the sake of illustration purposes, this link will take you to the Breakaway, Deck 8.

    https://www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/breakaway/deck-plans

Select Deck 13 (for example), and then click on 13120, you will notice a flat wall and a inlet wall.  That room would have the bed near the balcony.  Then, 13122 would have the bed in the middle of the room, and so-on and so-forth. (Basically, where the large space on the jagged wall is, is where the bed will be!)   know this is not a great description, but I hope the visual helps!

It does help! I am definitely a visual/spatial learner haha Thanks!!!

The stateroom won't change. You select the stateroom that has your preference as far as bed location.

In some cases, you don't have a choice.

Ooooh, that makes more sense. duh.

Is there a way to know which has the preferred bed location when you book straight out online? Or is that something that you would need a TA for or to speak with someone at NCL? All I see when I click on the floor plan is the same generic one.

  10. I'm new to NCL and didn't know this was an option to request. I saw someone mention that it's only on certain ships, BA and BA plus... I'm on Encore coming up next month. Does that mean I am able to request bed placement? The floorplans all the show the bed by the closet, but by the balcony would be lovely!

  11. Hello! I tried to search but couldn't find much...

What kind of equipment is in the gym on Encore? Aside from treadmills and cycles, are there also free weights and other weight machines? Anyone have recent pictures?

    Thanks!

Did they charge your credit card more than the price that you booked at?

Final payment is due today, so I checked one last time to see if the price had dropped before making final payment and it did. I contact NCL to ask for the lower price and they adjusted the reservation to reflect the lower price and sent a confirmation email. Only when I then checked the reservation online did I realize that the friend I am cruising with had already paid off the balance on Sunday!

So as of now the charge processed for the original amount of the reservation. I contacted them again to ask how they would process the difference in the amount and I was told that the system already recognized the price reduction and it would be processed as a refund. So, I've got a little reminder to have my friend check to make sure it actually gets processed 🙂

  13. well, I'll say that I'm always on the glass half full side! :)

we have confirmation of the lower price in multiple places. If the refund doesn't come then a credit card dispute is an option and we have the documentation to show the amount that we are responsible to pay. Final payment date is tomorrow. I've mentioned it to my cruisemate and as he is paying, it's up to him. I can always come back and update if anyone is curious how it turns out!

  14. Figured I would do what I should have just done and contacted them back to ask 🙂

Sharing the answer here, in case any one else has the same question...

I was told the system had already recognized the difference in price and a refund was being issued to the credit card used for payment. I asked how long it would take to see that and he said it could be between 14-30 days due to their system and the amount of transactions being handled lately.

  15. I tried to search for an answer, but I am apparently terrible at using the search feature...

I noticed a price drop and when I went to check my cruise summary I also noticed that my cruisemate has apparently made the full payment, but it is NOT final payment date yet. If we get the price drop, does the difference get refunded to his credit card? Or how do they give us back the difference?

    Thanks!
