Hi. Any recommendations for a hotel that's mutually convenient access wise from the airport and then getting to the port, ideally who can help with pre booked (fixed price) taxis. We arrive late Friday evening for our cruise the next day so don't need a base for sightseeing moreso a decent 4 * start type hotel that's on a route from airport to port.... if such a route exists !!.

    Thanks

We are staying at Pireaus City Hotel at port, using Georges taxi from Airport to hotel, 75 euro for upto 4 people. Hotel is by gate 9 to port.

  2. We had 5 sea days, and I took some small canvases and acrylic paints and tried my hand at painting. I am not an artist and have no talent, but it was very relaxing and alot of people said they looked good. I also took some small jig saw puzzles. There was plenty of activities on board.

    Enjoy your balcony 😁

I think sooner, but keep an eye on price. At 29 days they could lower it and you might be able to just buy it.

We had a price drop on 3/21/23 cruise on Jade, and I called customer service and moved from ocean view to balcony for 320. We had bid in for 175 pp so we got moved and saved 30. Just had to go back and cancel our upgrade bids. We even got to pick our cabin from what was available.

  4. Did Alaska cruise in September, returned and 2 days later wife and I tested positive for covid. Three days later hit with hurricane Ian. Too sick to go anywhere, so hunkered down in hallway all night. Minor damage to house, but without electric for 10 days, water for 4 days and internet and tv for 35 days. Also cell phone service was spotty. Had to drive 45 miles to get gas for generator after 4 days because no one had electricity in our area. Lost out buildings and 2 pergolas. But we survived and feel blessed as so many lost everything. Please pray for them.

I think our insurance might cover CVS and Walgreens testing.  Not sure and it is another stress point. At least we have an extra day to test, but seems to be more of a mystery to get an online proctor unless you order eMed ahead of time. Past that point now. Did eMed last year when appointments were hard to get at CVS and Walgreens. I really thought testing would go away by now and scrambling to figure out what company to go with. Will just pay out of pocket at CVS or Walgreens is the only safe choice now.

Shopping around for an online proctor just is not something that seems normal just to take a cruise. Rapid Test and Trace a good choice? Never heard of this company and don't want to be scammed. Lots of covid scams out there. I trust  CVS and Walgreens though.

We felt same way, so called our insurance United Health and asked, they will only pay if you have symptoms. CVS said it would take 1 to 2 days for results in our area. We live in Fl so there are alot of retirees. We decided to go with rapidtestandtrace as they were very helpful with chat and wife and I will be proctered at same time. Hope this helps, and relax and just breathe. Also, if you go with rapid, you have to pay first and then set up schedule at end.

Maybe I'm slow, but I'm just not understanding why so many people want the testing mandate dropped.  Are you really okay with people going on the ship with you who are knowingly positive, or unknowingly, but don't find out because they don't have to test?  Or are YOU personally looking forward to being allowed on the ship even if you're positive, since you don't have to prove otherwise? I realize that for most people, Covid doesn't turn serious, but if you can keep people off the ships who would intentionally go even though they know they're positive, you could keep more people healthy.

There are already cases on every ship and every sailing, and that is with vaxxing and testing.  I can only imagine how much higher that number would go if the mandate is dropped.  I know that there are a bunch of people who aren't cruising now because of the mandate.  Me, personally -- if they drop the mandate, I won't sail until this is far less transmissible.

    Amen, well said.

  7. We are painting interior and swimming in pool at house. We are also calling everyone in our church to do a wellness check. We are retired since 2010 and most people in our church are elderly. We live in Fl. so alot of us don't have family around. People are very appreciative of these calls. We also  do a senior food program thru Harry Chapin. This keeps us busy.

  8. Thanks to everyone who responded, It looks like the Anchorage hotel will be a bit of a problem. It is only for one night, so we will see. We got some bad reviews for hotel in Copenhagen, and it turned out to be very nice and comfortable. Close to Tivoli Gardens.

  9. We have had all cabins on different ships, and we like the OV best. Unless you are up early you won't see entering port, and it is better on top decks. Also when ship is moving it is very noisy with wind etc on balcony. We  did a few Med cruises and the balcony just wasn't worth it to us. That being said, this is my opinion, but you have to decide if you are going to spend $700 worth of time on balcony, or if going on deck for 360 degree view is better. Your choice, but enjoy your decision.
