We too are on the NYE cruise and having a horrendous time booking reservations for dinners. I was lucky to secure a table for the 4 couples traveling together for 2 meals (at 6pm!) but even trying to book for 2 couples seems impossible this week. The app as been flakey at best and atrocious at worst.
I agree with you completely. 💯 I was up until 3am booking all of the dinners and breakfast/brunches. I had one dinner slot I couldn’t book, and called them directly the next morning. They were wonderful and booked it easily. BUT, I am glad I didn’t wait until the morning of the first day as many of the time slots were already filled. The VV agent did say the app will work better once on board. Maybe? They also suggested if a time slot is not available, try changing the number of sailors from 2 to 3 and magically some slots would open up for booking.
If you haven’t already done so, book brunch/ breakfast for the final day, disembarkation. I heard the slots often do not open until you are on the ship, and breakfast in the Galley can be chaotic on departure day. I was pleasantly surprised to see I could book time at Razzle Dazzle for a 9 am breakfast before heading home. -

I'm not a TA, so I can't speak authoritatively. I suspect that it is too late once you have paid in full, but it wouldn't hurt to ask a Gold Tier agent if that is true. VV has weird rules on many things. I'm on the ship now, and have had no problem with changing reservations after boarding or during the cruise...but we have 1600 on our ship. A more full ship would have less flexibility.
Since you got the loot /bar tab credit for a cancelation, you are undoubtedly in good shape. THe app regularly crashes while people are booking dining. If the app fails, you can call Shoreside Sailor Services and they can make the reservations for you (don't accept them telling you various fixes for the app; just tell them what you want and ask that they make the reservations for you. Enjoy your cruise.Thank you so much for your tips. Truly appreciated.

I booked my first VV on my own. THen met a Gold Tier agent who has been absolutely wonderful. She checks all of her reservations each time VV comes out with a new deal and contacts me if the new is any better than what I already have...,and the service is great. VV is improving their shoreside sailor service, but a year ago, it was not unusual to wait on the phone for over an hour and HOPE you got correct info. Also, if your TA books 10 or more cabins on a given cruise, that results in extra perks for each cabin booked (from VV, not from TA).
Cantgetin - wouldn't it be too late to use a Gold Tier TA at this point? We have our room, paid in full etc. We have more than enough Bar Tab as we were credited for a cancellation. The last thing I am planning on doing is staying up Tuesday night to book the dinner and entertainment. Many thanks for any insight or clarification.

Thank you for the insights. Very helpful. We did not use a travel agent, just booked online. Maybe that is crazy, but it has worked out well so far. 🙂

I am traveling on the NYE cruise with my husband. Wahoo! The booking option for dinner reservations will be 45 days out on the 15th of November. I know to hop on at midnight on 11/15/23 for a better chance of getting our first dining choices. He is the primary holder (not sure if that is the correct term), but our accounts are linked and he shows as paying for my expenses and staying in the same room.
When I use the app to book, will there be an option to include him in the reservation? Will it assume we are together as we have the same cabin and linked account?
Or since he is the primary account holder, does he need to book our food and activities?
Thank you!!!!

Hello - we are booked on the Valiant Lady NYE, 8 days, 12/30-1/7, out of Miami. I'm looking for a link that might be able to tell me what events are on specific days (similar to a Royal Caribbean Daily Compass). I would like to find out when the major entertainment such as Scarlet night, live entertainment etc. so I can plan excursions, dinner times etc. Does anyone know where I might find this info? I know it is electronic and on one's phone once on board, but not sure if I can see a similar or early bird view. Thanks in advance.

Hello fellow scuba divers. Our family will taking the Western itinerary on the Allure in March of 2019. We will make stops in Coco Key -Bahamas, Cozumel, Roatan, and Costa Maya. Ideally we'd like to dive at 2 or 3 of the stops. Any advice on tour operators vs. using the tours with RCI? Favorite stops if you could only pick 3 sites? Many thanks.
Ps - We are divers who dive about one week a year, and need to rent wet suits, tanks, equipment etc.

We had loads of fun while on the Harmony of the Seas in January. Planning a western 7 day trip on the Allure for our next cruise. Does anyone know if they have a 21+ silent party? (the silent or hush event is when the guests show up at the night club and are handed headphones. The only music in the place comes through on the headphones. You can switch between two channels of different songs hosted by the two DJs. You can't hear anyone else, but dance away. It's funny to take them off at look at the crowd dancing and singing along in a quiet room.) It was a hit on HOTS. They even held it for 2 nights and also had one for the 21 and under crowd.
Many thanks.

You rock, Bob / Host Clarea! Thank you.

Could someone please tell me the bed placements for Room 8329 and Room 8190 on the Allure. Many thanks :-)

We are sailing the western Itinerary next week and will have stops in Labadee, Cozumel, and Jamaica. We are not buying the wifi cruise package, but curious to know how hard it is to check on the kids (and grandma) back home. Does anyone know of places close to where the ship docks where we can walk? Many thanks! :-)
PS - we have iphones and live here in the midwest

The Ultimate dining and Drink package is unlimited drinks, and dinner every night at a specialty restaurant (the ones you have to pay extra for instead of the main dining area or windjammer), and lunch at specialty restaurant when at sea.

Hi - We're on the HOTS in Jan and purchased the ultimate dining and drink package. We've never eaten in the specialty restaurants before and would love some feedback/suggestions on your favorite menu items. Many thanks for the advice.

Hi, We are on the Harmony of the Seas in January. Can I buy a Wow band ahead of time, or do I have to pick one up when we board? (we are not in a suite, balcony room)
If we have to buy once on board, are there a range of colors to pick from?
Thanks.

My entertainment shows just showed up on line today for our sailing on Jan 6th. hope this helps.

I am on Harmony Jan 6th. I am waiting too and get the same message.

We are sailing in 88 days on HOTS. They haven't published the entertainment schedule yet allowing us can reserve our seats/shows. Should this have happened by now?

We are booked on the Harmony Jan 6, 2018. I purchased the drink package at $55. I just checked my booking and it still has just the one package for the 2 of us in our stateroom. Will they automatically add on the same package for my spouse? Will they do nothing and then when I walk on board and use my seapass card to get a drink, my husband automaticlly gets billed for the entire trip? How are they letting people know about his who already purchased the package before the new policy change? Am I 'safe' because I purchased it before the change?

Hello - Do you know if the slides and zip lines are open when in port? We decided not to do any excursions and wanted to take advantage of things to do when some people are off the boat. Many thanks.

Hi. We are flying in to FLL and cruising the next day out of Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale). Does anyone have a good hotel recommendation that provides transportation preferably from the airport to the hotel and the next day, from the hotel to the cruise ship. Many thanks. Sue
