  1. This is our first DCL cruise. we are familiar with cruising but NOT DCL.....

We are doing the Disney Magic. 4 Day Bahamas Cruise to Castaway Cay and Nassau.

Traveling in our party is myself, DW and our 6 year old Grand Daughter.

    What is our must do?

    What must we not miss?

Adult activity we can not miss?

Kid activity we have to do?

    Let us know your thoughts...

  2. we are in port - 7:30- 3:30

We were thinking a island tour (mainly to top of mountain to see overlook and get banana daquari and maybe a few stops, Beach Time with some snorkeling, Coral World and optional drop for shopping for those that want to shop....

we are worried to make island tour too long or the 6 year old may revolt....

we want to take 6 year old back to ship versus shopping

Anyone know anyone that does this type of tour? or do we need to go private tour option?

    any help is appreciated...

  3. Cloud 9 Spa Question....

its our first cloud 9 spa cabin. quick question. it says we get discounts... does that mean we need to wait till we are onboard to book to get the discounts? or are discounts reflected online when looking at spa treatments on the carnival web site..

What is best to do? how do you book?

  4. No wine list yet. I have been to the red frog rum bar and blue iguana tequila bar and the bar at the back of the ship. Where can I find a wine list and I will go look for it.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

usually two wine menus - one in the Casinio Bar willl have a menu with some wines. also in Main dining room there is a wine menu - more extensive.

also casino bar menu will have lists of rum, vodka scotches, etc.....

thnaks for hunting up the menus!!

  5. I will board the Dream on Sunday and will post some pictures of the menu. I have already purchased Cheers so will find out about any new drinks and prices. Will cruise critic app work with the social media plan?

This is awesome news. Thanks for the menu pics when you get back

as far as the App working. i'd say not likely but you still might wanna check..carnival says.....

Social ($5 USD per day) – Access the most popular websites and applications. Includes: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Linkedin, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Snapchat. Does not include access to other websites or apps.

  6. Beggin and Hopin someone on a ship will post some drink menus from most recent cruise with updated cheers program... And post pics to CC here

We all want to see any updates in the menu pricing. Also Pricing from the Bar menu in the MDR.

  7. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought their listed prices for their drinks were the same as if they were in a mixed drink. For example, if grey goose is listed as $7.95, it would be that price either straight up or as a part of a cocktail like a vodka tonic?

This is correct. Drink cost includes mixers. Even in a tall glass with extra mixer. - in this example - only one shot but a tall glass there was no surcharge for us. Only cost of vodka.

Also, We were on carnival victory on April 23rd. One of our party ordered grey goose and diet sprite. It was covered by cheers.

Thanks Ykgorbie for posting. just a quick questions. HESS SELECT is missing. was it cut off at bottom of pic or is it now off the menu? DW loved that wine.

Also, do you have picture the liquors offered. Vodkas - Absolute, Grey Goose, Kettle,. Rums, Etc. I didn't see that page of the menu. forgive me if i missed it...

If Ykgorbie doesnt have it, does anyone else have a link to the new bar menu that includes it?

    Thanks

  9. the timing of this post is uncanny.

We just got off the Victory a couple weeks ago. We called maintenance because we thought the cabin was warmer than we wished. They came and checked it. They left a card stating that the A/C was operating within carnival standards.

Usually DW if yelling at me to turn the air down because she is too cold. Not on this cruise.

For the record, we were on the same ship(victory) last year and had no A/C complaints. well except wife was too cold. but we could adjust. wonder if they put in the efficient systems on the Victory or just turned it down or was it just our cabin.... hmmm

Common areas seemed to be the same. the main show room was down right cold. only the cabin is what we noticed.

  10. My husband and I stayed in 1008 this past may. Easy access to spa, very quiet, and the door to the "secret deck" is right around the corner. Was a little bit rocky in rough waters but nothing a little Bonine didn't fix. Would absolutely recommend!

    Thanks.

    Couple questions:

Is the open observation deck aka "secret deck" is that on Panaorma Deck or the Lido Deck?

Did you ever feel people on the observation deck invaded your privacy? Was the balcony still private?

  11. do all the crawlers travel together from room to room?

Depends on the number of participants. If small enough then all goes together. Our last cruise we have over 75 participants. we meet in a lounge, then we let everyone filter out in groups of 8-10 to avoid long lines in the hall ways.

the cabin crawl can be run a few ways, lets see how our coordinator wants to set it up!! they are a blast, we love them.

  12. Do you guys that are getting comp cabins, play slots, table games, both? Where is the majority of your time spent?

I hate to whine but I spent lots of time in casino. Late night after dw goes to bed. I usually close the casino late night. And I've never gotten any comps. :(. But I only play blackjack or three card! I wonder if that makes a difference. My gut tells me they are not that good at tracking table players yet.

  13.

LRC is definitely loads of fun... doesn't matter if you booked with us or not, we even recruit random peeps just hanging out in the area we play...

We head out for Otown tomorrow morning and will be happy to visit and spend the night with UFFDAFLA and Mrs. UFFDAFLA ... we then head for Miami in the a.m. and will catch up with our friend Mary ... Boarding the Liberty on Saturday

I'm in for some LRC for sure!!!

    Have a great trip!!

  14. Hey everyone Im Amy and Im group leader of the back to back, please do feel free to come on over to our thread and jump right in. The more the merrier ....

Hello All. I posted on the other Roll call and was invited over here by Amy. so i got around to joining. We(well I) only booked recectly, so See below as to my introduction I put on the other roll call.... We are on the Feb 8th cruise ONLY.... wish we could do B2B, I could see my steelers win the SB(Well maybe not this year -- LOL )

Shhhhhh!! Don't tell the DW, but I booked yesterday.

This will be a surprise for her for Valentines Day. I am not convinced she will think we have the time to take away from work but we have some GREAT 'Cruise' friends that will be on this cruise and can not miss the opportunity. DW might kick my BUTT for not discussing it with her but oh well. As I have heard in the past......

It's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission:rolleyes::eek::rolleyes:.....

So when should I tell her?? I know I can't tell her till at least December! Should it be a xmas gift? I might still be in the dog house by Feb 8th.....

BTW, those friends of ours that may be on here. Please don't spill the beans to Tanya...

Also, we(I hope) would like to be added to the Cabin Crawl. We are on upper deck so probably no need to host a cabin as Suzi is hosting one on that deck - pretty similar.... I am in hopes Tom R, will host as he has an Aft Wrap i am sure we all wanna see.....

So please add us to the lists.... Much appreciated!!!

  15. thanks so much for the info, great stuff here. exactly what i was looking for. thanks again...

Hi Alex ~ you do not need to arrange for a specific guide before you arrive on St. John. When you get off the ferry, there will be bunches of taxi drivers waiting to take folks on an island tour, to the beaches, or a combo.

Island tours with a drop off at the beach are usually about $20 - $25 per person. For a nice short island tour I'd ask the driver the following:

    Can you go to the Chateau Bordeaux overlook (it is my favorite view on the island....I like it even better than the Trunk Bay overlook seen in my avatar);

Can you stop at the Annaberg Sugar Plantation & Ruins (spend the ten minutes to walk up to the top and see the beautiful views of the British Virgin Islands)

Then head to the beaches - Stop for a few minutes at Maho (my favorite beach) to take some photos. They are in the process of putting in restrooms and facilities here but I don't know when they'll be done (island time makes things go slow).

Then go to Cinnamon or Trunk to spend some time at a beach. Both have facilities, a snack bar and beach chair/snorkeling rental. Trunk charges $4 per person for admission. Both are great. You can snorkel at any of St. John's north shore beaches. Trunk has the underwater trail. I'd decide on the beach dependent upon what other ships are in port with you. If Oasis or Allure or six other ships are with you, I'd avoid Trunk.

You can get a taxi back from either beach easily. Taxis will be in the parking lot and it costs $6 per person to go back to the ferry dock. In fact whoever gives you the tour will probably ask if they can come back to the beach for you.

Hope this helps! ENJOY....I want to go back now!

  16. Thinking we are going to do the trek to St. Johns this time. We love to snorkel and want a short tour of the island with some scenic stops. So we thought take the ferry to st johns, then a little tour, then to a beach for some snorkel/beach time.

    Can someone tell me,

is there a specific driver/company we should use? how do we contact them? emial ? website?

What should we expect to pay for the short tour and drop at beach?

Can someone tell me the DON'T miss stop for the short tour?

Where(what beach) should we be dropped for snorkeling?

    thanks all

    Alex
