The exact address of this location is: 80 Kuhio Street, Island of Hawaii (Hilo), HI US 96720

    Aloha Ebay33,

Thanks for updating your original posting. When I put 80 Kuhio Street into either Bing or Google maps the location is shown as within the Hilo harbor area.

Looking right now the Hertz site shows: Island of Hawaii, Hilo - Hilo HLE Off Airport 400 East Kawili Street

as the only non airport/private flights site in the Hilo area.

Can you clarify the details for this location?

    Thanks,

Don't know what happened with last post.

Anyway I have extra Breakaway pins (6) and would trade for the "Dream"

I live in Toronto Canada  so I would say you pay the postage from your end and I'll pay from mine

My pins are still in their original little baggies.

    Aloha,

Thanks for the reply.  I am in Maryland and would send via postal service to your address.

I have 2 Dream pins in Good condition but not original baggie. They are what I believe are the "older" shape,

    rectangular, Norwegian

                            Dream

                           Latitudes

                                NCL

Still interested?  Suggest we share email and conduct the swap offline from here.

    Patric

  3. Aloha All,

Just off our first cruise on Breakaway. Very nice.

Checked all onboard sources and no Latitudes pins to be found anywhere.

Does anyone know an NCL corporate source for Latitudes pins?

Does anyone have an extra Breakaway Latitudes pin they are willing to trade? I have pins from Pearl (2 types) Pride of America, Dawn (2 types) Sun, and Dream.

In Nanortalik there is usually a programme of entertainment for cruise passengers.

Some might be free, others might incur a small charge. I do not know whether the town decides how to tailor each programme for each ship differently, or whether it is the cruise line which decides.

It used to be that you could choose your ship from the list displayed and see the programme, but if it is not there, the tourism people could probably tell you if you contacted them as I don't see that today, only the ships, dates, and the various options listed. On the other hand, this is only early January and the programmes may not yet be finalised for 2019.

I do not know if I am allowed to put the link on here, but it should be easily found if you google "nanortalik services for cruise ships". From the results, choose the link for the site which begins "https:/tasermiutcamp"

We especially enjoyed the choral singing in the church and seeing local people dressed in traditional clothing, although the kayak display and the dancing were also enjoyable.

    Aloha,

I tried to follow your advice, but the page I opened didn't have our 2019 Princess cruise listed.  It did display the shows that are available for other ships though, so that is a help.

    Thanks,

    Patric

  5. Thanks for your insight and experience. Part of the research is here in the CC threads. What little we have found elsewhere is understandably pricey or not available when we are in port. The inevitable conclusion is your point exactly. We will have to go with the flow (of 2,500 of our closest friends) and take available ship sponsored tours.

    Thanks again for sharing.

  6. Aloha again,

Thanks for your reply. We haven’t booked yet but are looking at a 2019 cruise.

We called NCL to ask about 15100. Notable information from the call:

The cabin accomodates 2 versus 3 passengers in the other H5 cabins. No explanation for the size difference on the deck plan schematic. The space forward of 15100 between the cabin and the salt room is supposed to be a sound buffer. The cabin dimensions of 328 square feet include the 58 square feet of the balcony.

We’re still considering the cruise and the cabin, but favor the Haven in general.

  7. Aloha All,

I've researched on the NCL threads and a lot of CC posters seem to ask the same question, is cabin 15100 on Breakaway larger, and what is next to it facing forward? So far no answers though. Can anyone who has been in 15100 help?

    Thanks.

  8. I took the Carnival Legend in May of 2015 (:sigh: how time flies) So I took Orca Enterprises and they were phenomenal. I forgot the owners name, but he has been doing this for decades so the whales recognize his boat. Anyway we saw lots of whales, sea lions, eagles. A baby whale came up to the boat.

The lady on the boat was saying the mother recognized the boat, and wanted to "introduce" the baby to the owner.

Aloha. We used ORCA Enterprises in 2015 as well. We had Captain Larry but no personal encounters like you experienced. I just found out that ORCA Enterprises is now part of Dolphin Jet Boat Tours, per TripAdvisor. I was wondering why I couldn't find a web page. Thanks for your reply.

  9. We did Allen Marine Tours in Sitka. They also operate tours in Ketchikan and Juneau. The staff were great and we saw humpbacks up close in addition to other wildlife.

How did you book with Allen Marine? Did they know you were on a cruise? Their web page does not have pricing or booking information. This is what they say for us cruise passengers:

If you are visiting Alaska by cruise ship, please use the links below to contact your cruise line to determine tour availability, schedule, and pricing information. You can also use these links to secure your tour reservations. We wish you a great cruise and look forward to seeing you!

The links take you to the individual cruise line tours. It appears to me that they do not book direct.

    Thanks for any help. Patric

  10. Just got back from an independent trip around the Perth/western Australia area.

A very different and interesting way to transfer from the CBD in Perth to Fremantle is to take the Captain Cook Ferry. You can take a taxi direct to the ferry. The ride is delightful and very comfortable. When you arrive in Fremantle there are plenty of taxis waiting to transport you. The cruise terminal is not terrribly far away.

I would you decide to do this, I would suggest buying tickets in advance. You can buy them online. It's very easy.

Sounds like a good idea. I'll check it out.

  11. We are on RCI next March leaving from Perth/Fremantle. We will be staying a couple nights ahead of the cruise in Perth. Does anyone have recommendations on getting to the Fremantle cruise terminal from our Perth hotel? We would prefer not to have to move our luggage any long distance on our own. So that effectively rules out public transport. Thanks in advance.

  12. I can't understand what your complaint is, you didn't cancel within the time stated on their T&Cs????????

I don't have a complaint. I posted a cautionary remark to my fellow CCers to perhaps help them avoid the same situation I was in. After all, Butlers/eCoach is highly recommended here on CC, and as a result is used a lot. And plans change a lot as well. I had read the terms before booking, but I wonder how many others do not.

  13. Here is my story. I purchased 2 Blarney castle tour tickets well in advance of our August cruise because the Butlers/eCoach website showed that there were “limited seats” left for our tour date. Also, we were leaving for a 26-day TA/UK cruise and did not want the tour to fill up before we returned. Upon our return, we had to change our plans and cancelled our UK cruise in August. Every, and I mean every other firm (even the airline!!) we dealt with except Butlers/eCoach readily changed dates or gave full refunds.

I know the Butlers/eCoach policy is:

After completing your booking, you can demand a refund (less applicable booking fee) within 7 calendar days for any reason whatsoever. To qualify bookings must be made at least 14 days before the travel date in question.

If after the qualifying 7 days cooling period you should decide to cancel, no refund in full or part will be given unless your trip is considered cancelled

However, before I emailed Butlers/eCoach, I checked the website for the date of our tour. That date is “Sold Out” with a “Wait list”. Given that the tour date is over booked, and that I was canceling nearly 90 days ahead of the tour date, I requested a partial refund. Butlers/eCoach replied:Unfortunately you are not within the 7 day time frame which entitles you to a refund as stated in our cancellation policy. I will cancel your seats for you now.In my reply to that I pointed out the fact that the tour date was over booked, that they were going to easily resell our seats, and I had cancelled 90 days out, but have not received any response. Sadly, because of their inflexibility we will not be getting a refund.

Moral of my story: Only book with Butlers/eCoach, if you are absolutely, positively certain you can abide by the stated refund policy.

There is perhaps some good news in all this for us. Butler/eCoach has just responded finally and offered us a partial refund, IF the seats are resold. That is all I could ask for.

  15. There's no free shuttle (and almost certainly no payable shuttle either), but the walk through the docks is safe, mainly on sidewalks. It's a 20 - 25 minute walk from Ocean Terminal to West Quay Mall, pretty simple, level ground, tolerably interesting.

If you're feeling lazy there will be plenty of taxis at the cruise terminal, the five minute ride will cost about £6 to £8. Plenty of taxis ranked at West Quay Mall too, if you buy more than you intended.

There's a Uni-link bus service from the port gate to West Quay Mall. route U1. It runs from the National Oceanography Centre in the port & is used almost-exclusively by university students but they are public buses. Fare will be pennies.

    JB :)

Thank you for this info JB. Despite all efforts to date, we still have nothing booked for turnaround days. This looks like a perfect, low impact way to see Southampton.
