  1. Hi All,

I am scheduled to take my first MSC cruise (Meraviglia) on 2/2/20 and very much looking forward to experiencing all that MSC has to offer it. I am experienced cruiser
as I am Platinum+ on NCL and Platinum on Carnival.  I have been loyalty matched to Gold card with MSC.  So I have a few questions

    1.  What time should we arrive at the port of Miami (it is Superbowl weekend in Miami so planning is a concern)
    2.  We are traveling on a Casinos at Sea type program so are there any additional perks with this program other than the stateroom?
    3.  Are the gratuities added directly to the stateroom invoice?
    4.  On NCL and CCL we tend to identify and tip certain staff members early on and they are always on the lookout for us.  Does this also hold true with MSC?
    5.  You activate your sign and sail card through the kiosks...do you have to have a PIN # with your credit crrd in order to use a credit card?
    6.  If you have the "easy drink package" and want something above that you have to pay the full price of that drink correct?
    7.  We have cabin #9010 Suite with Private Whirlpool, does this come any other perks as well (used to NCL suite perks)?
    8.  Do we need to pre-book shows (Cirque and any others) to be guaranteed availability?  It says "Day booking to be confirmed once on board".
Does this mean I chose at time of purchase but not guaranteed?

Anything else you think would be helpful feel free to toss it out there.  I am definitely a planner so more info is better.

    TIA

    Lori

If your reservation summary page does not say Latitudes on it somewhere you're not getting the additional points.  When I sailed this spring on a past guest offer it said "Latitudes" at the bottom of the right column.

I am not seeing it, but not sure if I am looking where I should be looking,  The only place I see lattitudes  is part of a perk "Latitude Reward program 30 min internet"

Booked a cruise last weekend that said it was part of the past guest offer.   I have a picture taken of my screen.  However NCL said it was an error on the website.   No luck getting the extra point added.   I would have still booked this cruise but don't like the misleading advertising on the website

Where do you see whether or not your are or are not getting the additional point?

It may not apply to all sailings.  You can see the deal parameters on https://www.ncl.com/latitudes-rewards-program/insider-offer/terms?hide_hf=true .

After you login to your NCL.com account, do a dummy booking for your cruise.  When you get to the "Your Offers" page, you should see the below phrase next to the "Continue" button:

"Plus, because you're a Latitudes Member, we've reduced your cruise fare by 20%. You'll also receive 1 additional Latitudes point per night for booking this sailing.".

You will not see the $200.00 OBC until the NCL agent or your TA applies it to your cruise deposit.  The promo code will show as OBC200 in their system.

So I booked my trip on 10/18 and according to the fine print the $200 OBC is good for bookings between 10/21 and 10/31.  So I am reaching out to TA to see if we can rebook and obtain the additional $100.  This is why I enjoy this forum.  Thank you!!

  5. I booked a OA ocean-view 16 months prior to sailing on a 15 Panama Canal trip and was willing to pay that cruise fare for that trip... Prices dropped and I upgraded to a balcony (mid ship) for the same price 2 months out from sailing.  Four weeks from sail date I bumped to a JS Family suite for $200.00 more.  I worked closely with my TA and thrilled at the outcome.  Yes all after final payment and NCL has always been fair.  Monitor your pricing and ask...it cant hurt.

  6. I would like to tag on to this with an additional question. My mom is a CAS player and we will using a "free voucher" to go on the Breakaway in March. There is still a lot of availabilty on this cruise and was wondering how you determine the amount it would cost to upgrade. Not sure what the actual cruise cost was just what was paid in port charges and taxes. Do you just wait until 30 days out and call and see what the best price for a balcony is....or is there a formula? Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!!
